AIM： to determine the efficacy of an interferon alpha and ribavirin combination treatment for Japanese patients infected with hepatitis C virus （HCV） of genotype 2, a multi-center study was retrospectively analyzed. MEtHODS： In total, 173 patients with HCV genotype 2 started to receive interferon-alpha subcutaneously thrice a week and 600-800 mg of ribavirin daily for 24 wk. RESULtS： the overall sustained virological response （SVR）, defined as undetectable HCV RNA in serum, 24 wk after the end of treatment, was remarkably high by 84.4%, （146/173） by an intention-to-treat analysis. A significant difference in SVR was found between patients with and without the discontinuation of ribavirin （46.9% vs 92.9 %）, but no difference was found between those with and without a dose reduction of ribavirin. A significant difference in SVR was also found between patients with less than 16 wk and patients with 16 or more weeks of ribavirin treatment （34.8 % vs 92.0 %）. CONCLUSION： the 24-wk interferon and ribavirin treatment is highly effective for Japanese patients with HCV genotype 2. the significant predictor of SVR is continuation of the ribavirin treatment for up to 16

the precise interferometric systems employed in today’s artificial satellites require semiconductor lasers of the highest callibur. But, one particularly large obstacle has stood in the way of their broad application;the stabilization of their oscillation frequencies. While a number of different approaches have been tested, none have provided overall, long-term stability. Most recently, we used a Doppler-free absorption line of Rb atoms with a precision temperature controller and an improved laser mount;in this instance, relative optical frequency stability rated 9.07×10-13≤σ（2,τ）≤7.54×10-10 , in averaging time for 0.01s≤τ≤23s. By introducing optical feedback, which narrows the laser’s linewidth, we obtained improved frequency stability.

Bayesian optimization(BO)has been leveraged for guiding autonomous and high-throughput experiments in materials ***,few have evaluated the efficiency of BO across a broad range of experimental materials *** this work,we quantify the performance of BO with a collection of surrogate model and acquisition function pairs across five diverse experimental materials *** defining acceleration and enhancement metrics for materials optimization objectives,we find that surrogate models such as Gaussian Process(GP)with anisotropic kernels and Random Forest(RF)have comparable performance in BO,and both outperform the commonly used GP with isotropic *** with anisotropic kernels has demonstrated the most robustness,yet RF is a close alternative and warrants more consideration because it is free from distribution assumptions,has smaller time complexity,and requires less effort in initial hyperparameter *** also raise awareness about the benefits of using GP with anisotropic kernels in future materials optimization campaigns.

Long-term Assessment of Nitrogen Pollution Load Potential for Groundwater by Mass Balance Analysis in the tedori River Alluvial Fan Area, Japan

to evaluate the nitrogen pollution load in an aquifer, a water and nitrogen balance analysis was conducted over a thirty-five year period at five yearly intervals. First, we established a two-horizon model comprising a channel/soil horizon, and an aquifer horizon, with exchange of water between the aquifer and river. the nitrogen balance was estimated from the product of nitrogen concentration and water flow obtained from the water balance analysis. the aquifer nitrogen balance results were as follows: 1) In the aquifer horizon, the total nitrogen pollution load potential (NPLP) peaked in the period 1981-1990 at 1800 t·yr-1;following this the NPLP rapidly decreased to about 600 t·yr-1 in the period 2006-2010. the largest NPLP input component of 1000 t·yr-1 in the period 1976-1990 was from farmland. Subsequently, farmland NPLP decreased to only 400 t·yr-1 between 2006 and 2010. the second largest input component, 600 t·yr-1, was effluent from wastewater treatment works (WWtWs) in the period 1986-1990;this also decreased markedly to about 100 t·yr-1 between 2006 and 2010;2) the difference between input and output in the aquifer horizon, used as an index of groundwater pollution, peaked in the period 1986-1990 at about 1200 t·yr-1. this gradually decreased to about 200 t·yr-1 by 2006-2010. 3) the temporal change in NPLP coincided with the nitrogen concentration of the rivers in the study area. In addition, nitrogen concentrations in two test wells were 1.0 mg·l-1 at a depth of 150 m and only 0.25 mg·l-1 at 50 m, suggesting gradual percolation of the nitrogen polluted water deeper in the aquifer.

石明松发现光敏核不育水稻，开辟了杂交稻研究的新篇章．两系法杂交稻的发展依赖于新的遗传工具，即光敏核不育水稻（ＰＧＭＲ）和温出核不育水稻（ＴＧＭＲ）。研究表明，农垦５８Ｓ系统的不育系不存在绝对的光敏不育性或绝对的温敏不育性，其育性转换都是受光温共同作用的结果．到目前为止，已育成了一批两系法品种间杂交稻组合．使型组合有ＮＡＮ７Ｓ／Ｒｇ－１、Ｎ５０８８Ｓ／Ｒ１８３、Ｎ５０８８／Ｒ１８７、３１３０１Ｓ／１５１４、７００１Ｓ／轮回４２２、７００ｌｓ／１５１４等．这些组合已在长江流域的双季稻区作晚稻种植了６０００多ｈｍ２，一般产量为６．７５～７．５０ｔ／ｈｍ２，比同生育期的常规粳稻品种鄂晚５号和鄂宜１０５等增产１０％～１５％，与同生育期的三系杂交籼稻汕优６４等产量持平．此外，具更强优势的亚种间杂交稻组合也已初步选出。

In this proceeding,we will first outline the experimental setup and main results of the most recent hypernuclear γ-ray spectroscopy experiment (KEK-E566) performed at KEK-PS K6 beam line. the main feature and characteristics of this type of research will be emphasised. After that,the approved experimental proposal (E13) at J-PARC facility will be introduced briefly.

the reactions γd→π-pp and γd→npπ+π-have been studied in an energy range from 0.8 to 1.1 GeV at the tagged photon facility of Laboratory of Nuclear Science,tohoku University. Charged pions and protons in the final state were measured by using the Neutral Kaon Spectrometer (NKS2). the analysis of the γd→π-pp was mainly used to check the acceptance of the NKS2 and to calibrate the tagged photon energy. the photoproduction of the Δ++Δ-was identified in the γd→npπ+π-reaction. Since the data analyses are still in progress,we issue an interim report and preliminary results.

A 79-year-old male was admitted to our hospital for the treatment of cancer of the gastric *** examination revealed a t1 b Union for International Cancer Control(UICC) tumor at the pyloric region of the gastric *** did not reveal infiltration intothe serosa,peritoneal dissemination,regional lymph node swelling,or distant *** performed a distal gastrectomy preserving the right gastroepiploic artery by referencing the preoperative three-dimensional computed *** also evaluated the blood flow of the right gastroepiploic artery and in the proximal gastric tube by using indocyanine green fluorescence imaging intra-operatively and then followed with a gastrojejunal anastomosis with Roux-en-Y *** definitive diagnosis was moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the gastric tube,pt 1bN 0M0,pS tage IA(UICC).His postoperative course was ***-dimensional computed tomographic imaging is effective for assessing the course of blood vessels and the relationship with the surrounding *** evaluation of blood flow of the right gastroepiploic artery and of the gastric tube in the anastomotic portion is very valuable information and could contribute to a safe gastrointestinal reconstruction.

Rice Green Revolution and Climatic Change in East Africa: An Approach from the technical Efficiency of Rainfed Rice Farmers in Uganda

In East Africa where a drastic improvement in food security is an urgent need, rice, a non-traditional crop in most of countries in the region, has emerged as an important food crop that could extend the Green Revolution to the region following the introduction of New Rice for Africa (NERICA) in the early 2000s. Using data collected through a nationwide survey, this paper examines the possibility of rice green revolution by estimating the technical efficiency (tE) of rainfed rice farmers in Uganda and simulates how unfavorable climate changes affect it. the estimated stochastic frontier yield function showed that the mean tE was 65% for lowland and 60% for upland, and that the potential yield of rainfed rice cultivation was as high as 3 t·ha-1. However, the stochastic simulation of rainfall and rice yield revealed that unfavorable climate changes could erase the high potential in crop yield. Rainfed rice cultivation could be a leading sector for realizing Green Revolution in East Africa. It plays a critical role in this process to improve rice farmers’ tE, which is lower in the region than in Asia. Worsening climatic conditions, if occur, make this need even more imperative.

From the ^12 C（π^＋,K^＋）^12 AC reaction the γ -rays of 261.6±0.24 ke V（7/2^＋ →5/2^＋）and 1481.7±0.7 ke V（1/2^＋ →5/2^＋） of ^11 A B,and 2667.3±2.8 keV（1^- 2 → 2^- 1）of ^12 A C hypernuclei have been identified using a large germanium detector array Hyperball2 at K6 beam line of KEK. the observed energies of the transitions 1481.7keV and 261.6 keV are significantly different from the values predicted by the shell model using the △ and SN parameters determined from the ^7 △ Li data.
