Endocrine therapy is essential for the treatment of patients with estrogen receptor positive (ER+) breast cancer, however, resistance and the development of metastatic disease is common. Understanding how ER+ breast cancer metastasizes is critical since the major cause of death in breast cancer is metastasis to distant organs. Results from many studies suggest dysregulation of the estrogen receptor alpha gene (ESR1) contributes to therapeutic resistance and metastatic biology. this review covers both pre-clinical and clinical evidence on the spectrum ofESR1 alterations including amplification, point mutations, and genomic rearrangement events driving treatment resistance and metastatic potential of ER+ breast cancer. Importantly, we describe how these ESR1 alterations may provide therapeutic opportunities to improve outcomes in patients with lethal, metastatic breast cancer.

MXene-contained paper is a good choice to design ultrathin and flexible electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding ***,the deficiencies in strength and stability of MXene-contained paper impede its practical ***,a composite paper was proposed to address the problems,in which a filter paper was modified with a three-layer structured surface via a facile layer-by-layer coating ***,the tEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibers(tOCN)/cationic starch(CS)/MXene gel layer and tOCN/MXene nacre structure layer ensured the good EMI shielding and mechanical performances of the composite paper,while the uppermost tOCN/CS hydrogel film layer mainly protected *** composite paper achieved an EMI SE of 40.3 dB at a thickness of merely 0.1894 mm(SE/t value of ca.212.8 dB mm^(−1),SSE/t values of ca.13216 dB cm 2 g^(−1))and the total MXene dosage was 20 g m^(−2).Its tensile strength could be up to 11.7 MPa while the original filter paper was 6.4 *** pieces of this composite papers could be easily packed together to attain an EMI SE of nearly 70 ***,the hydrogel film layer efficiently protected the MXene and maintained the EMI shielding performance of the composite paper when immersed in different liquids including water,HCl(1 M)and ethanol,due to the dense and compact structure of hydrogel film *** work provides a practical way to develop ultrathin,flexible and durable EMI shielding materials.

Hydrogels have been extensively studied for applications in various fields, such as tissue engineering and soft robotics, as determined by their mechanical properties. the mechanical design of hydrogels typically focuses on the modulus, toughness, and deformability. these characteristics play important roles and make great achievements for hydrogel use. In recent years, a growing body of research has concentrated on the fatigue property of hydrogels, which determines their resistance to crack propagation in the networks during cyclic mechanical loads for applications. However, knowledge of hydrogel fatigue behavior remains notably deficient. Here, we present a brief overview of the fatigue behavior of hydrogels, encompassing the general experimental methods to measure the fatigue property and fundamental theoretical calculation models. then, we highlight multiple strategies to enhance the fatigue resistance of hydrogels. Finally, we present our perspectives on fatigue-resistant hydrogels, outstanding challenges and potential directions for future research.

In order to harness diffractive neural networks(DNNs)for tasks that better align with real-world computer vision requirements,the incorporation of gray scale is ***,DNNs are not powerful enough to accomplish gray-scale image processing tasks due to limitations in their expressive *** our work,we elucidate the relationship between the improvement in the expressive power of DNNs and the increase in the number of phase modulation layers,as well as the optimization of the Fresnel number,which can describe the diffraction *** demonstrate this point,we numerically trained a double-layer DNN,addressing the prerequisites for intensitybased gray-scale image ***,we experimentally constructed this double-layer DNN based on digital micromirror devices and spatial light modulators,achieving eight-level intensity-based gray-scale image classification for the MNISt and Fashion-MNISt data *** optical system achieved the maximum accuracies of 95.10%and 80.61%,respectively.

Incorporating a selenium(Se)positive electrode into aluminum(Al)-ion batteries is an effective strategy for improving the overall battery ***,the cycling stability of Se positive electrodes has challenges due to the dissolution of intermediate reaction *** this work,we aim to harness the advantages of Se while reducing its limitations by preparing a core-shell mesoporous carbon hollow sphere with a titanium nitride(C@tiN)host to load 63.9wt%Se as the positive electrode material for Al-Se *** the physical and chemical confinement offered by the hollow mesoporous carbon and tiN,the obtained core-shell mesoporous carbon hollow spheres coated with Se(Se@C@tiN)display superior utilization of the active material and remarkable cycling *** a result,Al-Se batteries equipped with the as-prepared Se@C@tiN composite positive electrodes show an initial discharge specific capacity of 377 mAh·g^(-1)at a current density of 1000 mA·g^(-1)while maintaining a discharge specific capacity of 86.0 mAh·g^(-1)over 200 *** improved cycling performance is ascribed to the high electrical conductivity of the core-shell mesoporous carbon hollow spheres and the unique three-dimensional hierarchical architecture of Se@C@tiN.

Recently,Generative Adversarial Networks(GANs)have become the mainstream text-to-image(t2I)***,a standard normal distribution noise of inputs cannot provide sufficient information to synthesize an image that approaches the ground-truth image ***,the multistage generation strategy results in complex t2I ***,this study proposes a novel feature-grounded single-stage t2I model,which considers the“real”distribution learned from training images as one input and introduces a worst-case-optimized similarity measure into the loss function to enhance the model's generation *** results on two benchmark datasets demonstrate the competitive performance of the proposed model in terms of the Frechet inception distance and inception score compared to those of some classical and state-of-the-art models,showing the improved similarities among the generated image,text,and ground truth.

Composite polymer electrolytes(CPEs)have attracted much attention for high energy density solid-state lithium-metal batteries owing to their flexibility,low cost,and easy ***,the unstable Li/CPE interface is always challengeable for the practical utilization of ***,a polymer interlayer containing K+prepared by ultraviolet(UV)-curing precursor solution is coated on Li surface to stabilize the interface between poly(vinylidene difluoride)(PVDF)composite electrolytes and Li *** from the physical barrier of the interlayer,the continuous decomposition of PVDF is restrained and the intimate contact between electrode and electrolyte is also achieved to reduce the interface ***,the added K+is utilized to further regulate smooth Li *** a consequence,the symmetric Li|Li cell with coated Li demonstrates steady cycling at 0.4 mAh·cm^(-2) and a high critical current density of 1 mA·cm^(-2).the assembled Li|LiFePO_(4) cell presents outstanding cycling stability(capacity retention of 90%after 400 cycles at 1 C)and good rate *** associated pouch cell performs impressive flexibility and *** work provides a convenient strategy to achieve stable Li/PVDF interface for high-performance PVDF-based solid state Li metal batteries.

the lubrication performance of liquids is severely restricted and is degraded in high-temperature environments. Stable and reliable lubrication in high temperature environments has been a long-standing goal in various industrial fields. In this study,WS_(2)and ti_(3)C_(2)t_(x)MXene nanoflakes were used as oil-based lubricant additives to generate ultra-low friction and even superlubricity(friction coefficient of ~0.007) at elevated temperatures(400℃), which has hitherto not been achieved by both individual pristine materials, WS_(2)and ti_(3)C_(2)t_(x)MXene. Viscosity and thermogravimetric characterization revealed improvements in the high-temperature rheological properties and thermal stability of the lubricating base oil, indicating improved loadbearing and continuous lubrication capabilities at elevated temperatures. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy demonstrated that the formation of an iron/titanium/tungsten-rich oxide lubricious thin film at the sliding interface reduced the interfacial shear stress, which was responsible for the observed friction and wear reductions at high contact pressures(> 1.1 GPa). Although the titanium/tungsten oxide film was gradually removed after prolonged sliding, a sufficiently thick iron oxide film maintained a low friction coefficient for at least 2 h. the improved surface quality facilitates the achievement of ultra-low friction and reduced wear. the proposed lubrication methodology has a broad utilization potential as a wear-reduction strategy across various industrial fields at elevated temperatures.
