Aim:to investigate the biological activity of human lens epithelial cells (HLEC)in producing inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and nitric oxide (NO),and toassesse the effect of diethyldithiocarbamate (DDC) on iNOS mRNA levels andexpression of ***:the human lens epithelial cell line SRA 01/04 wasused in this ***-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chainreaction (Rt-PCR) and Western blotting were used to detect,respectively,iNOSmRNA expression and protein ***:A costimulation by inter-feron gamma (IFN-γ) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was necessary for iNOS ex-pression in *** expression of iNOS was significantly reduced in a dose-dependent manner by adding DDC from 10 μmol/L to 1 mmol/***:the expression of iNOS in HLEC needs co-stimulation with IFN-γ and LPS and itis inhibited by DDC.

Coordination-insertion copolymerization of non-polar ole- fins and polar monomers by late transition metal catalysts is a powerful method to synthesize functionalized polyolefins [1]. Seminal successes in this copolymerization have been achieved by using group-10 metal catalysts bearing a bidentate ligand such as phosphine-sulfonate and bisphosphine monoxide （BPMO）（Figure 1）.

Humanized mouse models that have received human cells or tissue transplants are extremely useful in basic and applied human disease research. Highly immunodeficient mice, which do not reject xenografts and support cell and tissue differentiation and growth, are indispensable for generating additional appropriate models. Since the early 2000s, a series of immunodeficient mice appropriate for generating humanized mice has been successively developed by introducing the IL-2Rynull gene （e.g., NOD/SCID/7c＂uu and Rag2nu＂ycnun mice）. these strains show not only a high rate of human cell engraftment, but also generate well-differentiated multilineage human hematopoietic cells after human hematopoietic stem cell （HSC） transplantation. these humanized mice facilitate the analysis of human hematology and immunology in vivo. However, human hematopoietic cells developed from HSCs are not always phenotypically and functionally identical to those in humans. More recently, a new series of immunodeficient mice compensates for these disadvantages. these mice were generated by genetically introducing human cytokine genes into NODISCIDI？cn＂u and Rag2nulItcnUll mice. In this review, we describe the current knowledge of human hematopoietic cells developed in these mice. Various human disease mouse models using these humanized mice are summarized.

We consider two player electromagnetic evasion-pursuit games where each player must incorporate significant uncertainty into their design strategies to disguise their intension and confuse their *** this paper,the evader is allowed to make dynamic changes to his strategies in response to the dynamic input with uncertainty from the *** problem is formulated in two different ways;one is based on the evolution of the probability density function of the intensity of reflected signal and leads to a controlled forward Kolmogorov or Fokker-Planck *** other formulation is based on the evolution of expected value of the intensity of reflected signal and leads to controlled backward Kolmogorov *** addition,a number of numerical results are presented to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed approach in exploring problems of control in a general dynamic game setting.

the electromagnetic backscattering of a crosscut of a cruise missile coated by a thin homogeneous layer made of radar absorbent material is modeled using a finite element *** on the radar cross section and a reflection coefficient,optimization problems are formulated for evaders and interrogators leading to optimal material parameters for the coating and optimal monostatic radar operating frequencies,*** coating materials are constructed for several radar *** only dielectric permittivity gives a narrow frequency range of high absorption while also tuning magnetic permeability widens it *** the coating layers considered do not provide substantial reduction of backscattering in the entire frequency range from 0.2 to 1.6 *** experiments also demonstrate that the reflection coefficient based on a simple planar geometry can predict well the strength of radar cross section in the sector of interest with a substantially reduced computational burden.

Nano-sheet carbon films are prepared on Si wafers by means of quartz-tube microwave plasma chemical vapour deposition （MPCVD） in a gas mixture of hydrogen and methane. the structure of the fabricated films is investigated by using field emission scanning electron microscope （FESEM） and Raman spectroscopy. these nano^carbon films are possessed of good field emission （FE） characteristics with a low threshold field of 2.6 V/μm and a high current density of 12.6 mA/cm^2 at an electric field of 9 V/μm. As the FE currents tend to be saturated in a high E region, no simple Fowler-Nordheim （F-N） model is applicable. A modified F N model considering statistic effects of FE tip structures and a space-charge-limited-current （SCLC） effect is applied successfully to explaining the FE data observed at low and high electric fields, respectively.

*** Numerous types of antennas have been developed,tested,and utilized for medical applications such as diagnosis,treatment,data transmission,and wireless power transfer(WPt).Recently,compact and robust antennas are needed to realize implantable and wearable wireless devices for medical applications such as delivering drugs from implanted capsules,stimulating nerve systems,and monitoring physiological data[1].Because antennas for medical applications are used close to or in a human body,their effects on the human body should be included in their development and evaluation[2].However,it is rather difficult due to ethical and practical reasons to employ a real human body when experimentally evaluating the characteristics of antennas or wireless devices for medical ***,numerical simulations are generally conducted as an alternative,using elaborate digital human models[3].Many different types of software are now commercially available for this purpose,along with digital human-body models.

A broadband frequency tunable microwave reflectometer system, which has the abil- ity of fast and stable frequency sweeping operation, is applied in the large helical device （LHD） to measure the boundary of the high-temperature plasma. When the microwave is launched, with extraordinary polarization, from the low field side of the magnetic field with its frequency swept from low to high, the microwave of minimum right-hand cut-off frequency is reflected most out- side. We can then estimate the plasma boundary position by measuring the change of the reflected power from the cut-off layer.
