Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common cause of cancer-related death in Saudi *** study aimed to investigate the patterns of HCC and the effect of tNM staging,Alfa-fetoprotein(AFP),and Child-turcotte Pugh(CtP)on patients’overall survival(OS).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 43 HCC patients at a single oncology center in Saudi Arabia from 2015 to *** patients had to fulfill one of the following criteria:(a)a liver lesion reported as definitive HCC on dynamic imaging and/or(b)a biopsy-confirmed ***:the mean patient age of all HCC cases was 66.8 with a male-to-female ratio of 3.3:*** patients were stratified into two groups:viral HCC(n=22,51%)and non-viral HCC(n=21,49%).Among viral-HCC patients,55%were due to HBV and 45%due to *** was diagnosed in 79%of *** and sex did not significantly statistically differ in OS among viral and non-viral HCC patients(p-value>0.05).About 65%of patients had tumor size>5 cm during the diagnosis,with a significant statistical difference in OS(p-value=0.027).AFP was>400 ng/ml in 45%of the *** was a statistically significant difference in the OS in terms of AFP levels(p-value=0.021).A statistically significant difference was also observed between the CtP score and OS(p-value=0.02).CtP class B had the longest *** was the most common treatment provided to HCC patients followed by sorafenib *** was a significant statistical difference in OS among viral and non-viral HCC patients(p-value=0.008).Conclusions:the most common predictors for OS were the underlying cause of HCC,AFP,and tumor *** having non-viral etiology,a tumor size>5 cm,an AFP>400 ng/mL,and a CtP score class C were all negatively associated with OS.

Climate change and groundwater resources in Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Groundwater resources have considerable influences on the human population and socioeconomic development of Vietnam and the Mekong River Delta(MRD). this paper presents an overview of the relationship between climate change and groundwater in the MRD, including the challenges, strategies and technical measures. Our results showed that groundwater levels are related to other climate and hydrological variables(i.e., rainfall, river levels, etc.); therefore, the impacts of climate change on the groundwater resources of the Mekong delta are significant, especially on groundwater recharge. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that groundwater development in the future should focus on reducing groundwater harvesting, enhancing groundwater quantity by establishing artificial works and exploiting surface water. this study suggests that the Artificial Neural Network(ANN) model is an effective tool for forecasting groundwater levels in periods of 1 month and 3 months for aquifers in the natural and tidal regime areas of the delta.

We present an optical and photoelectron spectroscopic study to elucidate the interfacial electronic properties of organic-inorganic semiconductor heterojunctions formed in a kinetically blocked heptazethrene triisopropylsilyl ethynylene (HZ-tIPS) and its homologue,octazethrene (OZ-tIPS) on an all-inorganic perovskite cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr3) *** photoluminescence behavior of the underlying perovskites upon differing molecular doping conditions was *** turns out that the charge transfer dynamics of thermally-evaporated OZ-tIPS molecule exhibited a faster average lifetime than that of the HZ-tIPS case suggesting the importance of the biradical state in the former *** interfacial dipole was formed at the interface due to the competing interaction between the dispersion force of the bulky tIPS-substituent group and the attractive van der Waals interaction at the first few *** spectroscopy of the physisorbed HZ-tIPS shows chemical shifts,which indicates electron transfer from HZ-tIPS molecules to the CsPbBr3 perovskite single *** contrast,the adsorbed OZ-tIPS molecular layer on CsPbBr3 demonstrates the opposite trend indicating a hole transfer *** average molecular orientation as determined by near edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) suggests that the HZ-tIPS molecular plane is generally lifted with respect to the perovskite *** suggest that the nature of the closed-shell electronic ground state of HZ-tIPS could contribute to the formation of interfacial dipole at the molecule/perovskite interface.

We describe a new species of Rhacophorus based on two adult specimens collected from Hoa Binh Province, northern Vietnam. Rhacophorus hoabinhensis sp. nov. is distinguishable from its congeners on the basis of a combination of the following morphological characters： size small （SVL 31.1-32.5 mm in males）; head slightly longer than wide; vomerine teeth absent; snout short （SNL/SVL 0.16）; dorsal skin smooth; forearm and tarsus with dermal fringes; dermal appendage at vent present; webbing formula on fingers I12/3-12/3II1-2III1-1IV and on toes I3/4-1II1/2- IIII1/2-1IVI-1/2V; dorsal surface grey yellow with brown spots; lower jaw region dark grey, throat, chest and belly cream; anterior and posterior thighs, as well as ventral surface of tibia orange. the interspecific uncorrected genetic distances （16S rRNA gene） between the new species from Hoa Binh and other analyzed congeners varied from 9.8% to 17.4%. In the phylogenetic analyses, the new species revealed to be a representative of Rhacophorus and was nested within the R. hoanglienensis-orlovi species group.
