Abnormal SEP reflect. dysfunct.on of t.e medial lemniscus and post.rior cervical cord. t.ese st.uct.res are likely t. be affect.d in Chiari malformat.on. t.erefore, SEP abnormalit.es may provide valuable informat.on in pat.ent. wit. CM. However, t.e consist.ncy of SEP abnormalit. or normalit. wit. t.e damage is a mat.er of research. Knowing whet.er median nerve somat.sensory evoked pot.nt.al (SEP) is useful in revealing subclinical damage in pat.ent. wit. Chiari malformat.on is import.nt.in t.e t.eat.ent.and follow-up plan of t.e disease. t.e aim of t.is st.dy was t. invest.gat. t.e relat.onship bet.een median nerve SEP values and t.e severit. of cerebellar ect.pia in pat.ent. wit. Chiari t.pe 1 malformat.on. Median nerve SEP values were obt.ined from 30 healt.y individuals and 146 individuals wit. Chiari malformat.on. t.e cerebellar ect.pia degree and McRae line lengt. were measured. SEP values were not.significant.y different.bet.een groups. t.e McRae line was found t. be significant.y short.r in t.e cont.ol group t.an in t.e Chiari malformat.on group (p = 0.031). t.ere was no correlat.on bet.een t.e degree of cerebellar ect.pia and t.e lengt. of t.e McRae line (r = 0.002, p = 0.979). Neit.er cerebellar ect.py degree nor McRae line lengt. had a relat.onship wit. SEP values (r = -0.153, p = 0.066;r = -0.056, p = 0.500, respect.vely). t.ere was no difference in cerebellar ect.py degree or SEP values bet.een t.e groups wit. cerebellar ect.py wit. and wit.out.a syrinx (p = 0.899;p = 0.080, respect.vely). Likewise, McRae line lengt. was not.found t. be relat.d t. t.e presence of a syrinx (p = 0.139). Median nerve SEP examinat.on was not.beneficial for diagnosing asympt.mat.c-oligosympt.mat.c Chiari malformat.on as a subclinical injury, whet.er accompanied by syringomyelia or not.

BACKGROUND t.e coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic had a significant.impact.on t.e management.of all *** diseases such as cancer have a higher risk of COVID-19-relat.d *** t.is fact.any delay or alt.rat.on in t.eat.ent.of cancer may have fat.l *** carcinoma(HCC)is an aggressive liver cancer t.at.requires mult.modalit. t.eat.ent.t. improve *** t. evaluat. t.e impact.of COVID-19 on t.e management.of pat.ent. wit. HCC by det.rmining changes in demographic,clinical and hist.pat.ological *** Demographic,clinical and pat.ological variables of pat.ent. wit. HCC who had undergone liver t.ansplant.t.on bet.een March 2020 and June 2021(Pandemic group,n=48)were ret.ospect.vely compared wit. t.at.of t.e pat.ent. wit. HCC t.ansplant.d bet.een November 2018 and March 2020(Pre-pandemic group,n=61).RESULt. t.e median age of t.e pat.ent. in t.e st.dy was 56(int.rquart.le range=15).Ninet.-seven pat.ent.(89%)were male and 12 were female(11%).t.e most.common et.ology of liver disease was hepat.t.s B virus(n=52,47.7%).According t. our result.,t.ere was a 21.3% drop in t.e number of pat.ent. t.ansplant.d for *** was no difference in t.e demographic,clinical and pat.ological charact.rist.cs of t.e pat.ent. except.blood alkaline phosphat.se levels(P=0.029),lymphovascular invasion(P=0.019)and t.pe of t.e liver graft.t.at.was t.ansplant.d(P=0.017).CONCLUSION It.is import.nt.t. develop a surveillance st.at.gy for liver t.ansplant.*** liver t.ansplant.t.on for HCC is just.fied and safe provided t.at.st.ict.surveillance prot.cols are applied.

BACKGROUND Acut. appendicit.s(AAp) is t.e most.frequent.cause of acut. abdominal pain,and appendect.my is t.e most.frequent.emergency procedure t.at.is performed *** coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic has caused delays in managing diseases requiring emergency approaches such as AAp and *** t. compare t.e demographic,clinical,and hist.pat.ological out.omes of pat.ent. wit. AAp who underwent.appendect.my during pre-COVID-19 and COVID-19 *** t.e demographic,clinical,biochemical,and hist.pat.ological paramet.rs were evaluat.d and compared in pat.ent. who underwent.appendect.my wit. t.e presumed diagnosis of AAp in t.e pre-COVID-19(Oct.ber 2018-March 2020) and COVID-19(March 2020-July 2021) *** Admissions t. our t.rt.ary care hospit.l for AAp increased 44.8% in t.e COVID-19 ***-19(n = 154) and COVID-19(n = 223) periods were compared for various paramet.rs,and we found t.at.t.ere were st.t.st.cally significant.differences in t.rms of variables such as procedures performed on t.e weekdays or weekends [odds rat.o(OR):1.76;P = 0.018],presence of AAp findings on ult.asonography(OR:15.4;P t.on of AAp in t.e hist.pat.ologic analysis(OR:2.6;P = 0.003),det.rminat.on of perforat.on in t.e appendect.my specimen(OR:2.2;P = 0.004),t.e diamet.r of t.e appendix(P t.l st.y(P = 0.003).t.ere was no st.t.st.cally significant.difference in t.rms of int.rval bet.een t.e init.at.on of sympt.ms and admission t. t.e hospit.l bet.een t.e pre-COVID-19(median:24 h;int.rquart.le range:34) and COVID-19(median:36 h;int.rquart.le range:60) periods(P = 0.348).t.e int.rval bet.een t.e init.at.on of sympt.ms unt.l t.e hospit.l admission was significant.y longer in pat.ent. wit. perforat.d AAp regardless of t.e COVID-19 or pre-COVID-19 st.t.s(P t.e present.st.dy showed t.at.in t.e COVID-19 period,t.e ult.asonographic det.rminat.on rat. of AAp,perforat.on rat. of AAp,and durat.on of hospit.l

Alveolar echinococcosis(AE) is a zoonot.c disease t.at.is caused by Echinococcus mult.locularis t.at.affect. liver and a variet. of organs and t.ssues. It.differs from ot.er echinococcal disease because it.shows t.mor like behavior in t.e affect.d organ and t.ssues. t.e t.eat.ent.of choice is concomit.nt.medical t.erapy and resect.on wit. negat.ve margins. Nevert.eless, resect.on wit. t.e int.nt.of negat.ve margins(R0) may lead t. serious complicat.ons such as liver failure. In t.e present.case report. we used Associat.ng Liver Part.t.on and Port.l Vein Ligat.on for St.ged Hepat.ct.my(ALPPS) procedure, which was defined in 2012 by Schnit.bauer et.al, in a 28-year-old male pat.ent.t. avoid complicat.ons of major liver resect.on in order t. t.eat.alveolar echinococcosis. Unt.l now, we have not.encount.red any st.dy using ALPPS procedure for t.e t.eat.ent.of alveolar echinococcosis. In t.e present.case report.we aimed t. show t.at.ALPPS procedure can be safely performed for marginnegat.ve resect.on of primary or recurrent.AE t.at.shows a t.mor like behavior. It.is our opinion t.at.t.is procedure should be performed in cent.rs t.at.have expert.se and sufficient.t.chnical capacit. t. perform liver t.ansplant.t.on and advanced liver surgery.
