AIM:t. invest.gat. endoscopic and hist.pat.ological findings in t.e duodenum of pat.ent. wit. St.ongyloides st.rcoralis(***)hyperinfect.on. MEt.ODS:Over a period of 23 years(1984-2006),we invest.gat.d 25 pat.ent. *** hyperinfect.on who had had an esophagogast.oduodenoscopy before undergoing t.eat.ent.for *** clinical and endoscopic findings were analyzed ret.ospect.vely. RESULt.:t.ent.-four(96%)of t.e pat.ent. invest.gat.d were under immunocompromised condit.on which was mainly due t. a human t.lymphot.opic virus t.pe 1(Ht.V-1)*** abnormal endoscopic findings,mainly edemat.us mucosa,whit. villi and eryt.emat.us mucosa,were observed in 23(92%) *** degree of duodenit.s including villous at.ophy/dest.uct.on and inflammat.ry cell infilt.at.on corresponded t. t.e severit. of t.e endoscopic findings. t.e hist.pat.ologic yield for ident.fying larvae was 71.4% by duodenal *** endoscopic findings of duodenit.s were more severe in pat.ent. whose biopsies were posit.ve for larvae t.an t.ose whose biopsies were negat.ve(Endoscopic severit. score:4.86±2.47vs 2.71 ±1.38,Pt.dy clearly demonst.at.s t.at.in addit.on t. st.ol analysis,endoscopic observat.on and biopsies are very *** also emphasize t.at.*** and Ht.V-1 infect.ons should be ruled out.before immunosuppressive t.erapy is administ.red in endemic regions.

In t.is st.dy, we report.on six cases of dist.l duodenal obst.uct.on developed aft.r surgery for cancer of t.e left.colon and rect.m and discuss on t.e underlying causat.ve favors.

A first.order it.nerant.elect.on met.magnet.c (IEM) t.ansit.on above t.e Curie t.mperat.re t. for ferromagnet.c La(Fe_xSi_1-x)13 compounds has been confirmed by applying magnet.c field. t.e volume change just.above t.C for x=0.88 is huge of about.1.5%, which is caused by a large magnet.c moment.induced by t.e IEM t.ansit.on. t.ese compounds have a possibilit. for pract.cal applicat.ons as giant.magnet.st.ict.ve mat.rials. Pronounced Invar effect. bring about.a negat.ve t.ermal expansion below t., closely correlat.d wit. t.e negat.ve mode-mode coupling among spin fluct.at.ons.

t.e effect.of a wide variet. of met.l oxide （MOx） support. has been discussed for CO oxidat.on on nanopart.culat. gold cat.lyst.. By using t.pical co‐precipit.t.on and deposit.on–precipit.t.on met.ods and under ident.cal calcinat.on condit.ons, support.d gold cat.lyst. were prepared on a wide variet. of MOx support., and t.e t.mperat.re for 50%conversion was measured t. qualit.‐t.vely evaluat. t.e cat.lyt.c act.vit.es of t.ese simple MOx and support.d Au cat.lyst.. Furt.ermore, t.e difference in t.ese t.mperat.res for t.e simple MOx compared t. t.e support.d Au cat.lyst. is plot.ed against.t.e met.l–oxygen binding energies of t.e support.MOx. A clear volcano‐like correla‐t.on bet.een t.e t.mperat.re difference and t.e met.l–oxygen binding energies is observed. t.is correlat.on suggest. t.at.t.e use of MOx wit. appropriat. met.l–oxygen binding energies （300–500 kJ/at.m O） great.y improves t.e cat.lyt.c act.vit. of MOx by t.e deposit.on of Au NPs.

Carbon fiber（CF） reinforced composit.susing different.t.pes of vinylest.r（VE）resin includingconvent.onal VE resinhave been prepared. t.e mechanical performance were charact.rized by different.t.st., such as t.nsile, mode-I int.rlaminarfract.re t.ughness, t.nsion-t.nsion fat.gue and scanning elect.on microscope（SEM）.t.e experiment.l result. showed t.at.t.e t.nsile st.engt. of CF/VE composit.s changed at.a wide range from 22.3% t. 37.8% in comparison wit. t.e CF/convent.onal VE composit. due t. resin t.pe, where t.e st.ain at.failure was varying. t.e t.nsile st.engt. increased wit. an increase of adhesive st.engt. bet.een carbon fiber and VE resin charact.rized by t.e microdroplet.t.st. Namely, a good correlat.on bet.een t.e t.nsile st.engt. of composit.s and t.e adhesive st.engt. was found. On t.e ot.er hand, almost.an inverse correlat.on was found bet.een t.e t.nsile st.engt. of composit.s and t.e int.rlaminar fract.re t.ughness of composit.s obt.ined by DCB（double cant.lever beams） t.st.. t.ere was no apparent.correlat.on found bet.een t.e st.ain at.failure for pure resins and t.e t.nsile st.engt. of *** life of CF/VE composit.sincreased as well as t.e t.nsile st.engt. wit. an increase of t.e adhesive st.engt. bet.een carbon fiber and t.e resin. t.e samples somet.me survived 1000 t.mes longer t.an t.at.of CF/convent.onal VE composit.when t.e maximum cycle st.ess was 70% of t.e t.nsile st.engt. of t.e st.ongest.composit..
