BACKGROUND in t.adit.onal descript.ons,t.e upper surface of t.e liver is smoot. and convex,but.deep depressions are variant. t.at.are present.in 5%-40%of *** sought.t. det.rmine t.e relationship bet.een surface depressions and t.e *** t. use explorat.ry laparoscopy t. det.rmine t.e relationship bet.een surface depressions and t.e *** An observat.onal st.dy was performed in all pat.ent. undergoing laparoscopic upper gast.o-int.st.nal operat.ons bet.een January 1,2023 and January 20,2024.A t.irt.-degree laparoscope was used t. inspect.t.e liver and *** surface depressions were present.we recorded pat.ent.demographics,presence of diaphragmat.c bands,rib prot.usions and/or any ot.er source of compression during *** Of 394 pat.ent.,343 had normal surface anat.my,and 51(12.9%)had prominent.surface depressions on t.e *** was no significant.relationship bet.een t.e presence of surface depressions and gender nor t.e presence of rib ***,t.ere was significant.associat.on bet.een t.e presence of surface depressions and diaphragmat.c muscular bands(PiON Wit. t.ese dat.,t.e diaphragmat.c-band t.eory has gained increased import.nce over ot.er t.eories for surface *** st.dies are warrant.d using cross sect.onal imaging t. confirm relationships wit. int.rsect.onal planes as well as bet.-cat.nin assays in t.e affect.d liver parenchyma.

BACKGROUND Pancreat.coduodenect.my(PD)is a t.chnically complex operat.on,wit. a re-latively high risk for *** abilit. t. rescue pat.ent. from post.PD complicat.ons is as a recognized qualit. *** prot.cols were inst.t.t.d at.our low volume facilit. in t.e year *** t. document.t.e rat. of rescue from post.PD complicat.ons wit. t.ilored prot.cols in place as a measure of *** A ret.ospect.ve audit.was performed t. collect.dat. from pat.ent. who experienced major post.PD complicat.ons at.a low volume pancreat.c surgery unit.in t.inidad and t.bago bet.een January 1,2013 and June 30,***-dardized definit.ons from t.e int.rnat.onal St.dy Group of Pancreat.c Surgery were used t. define post.PD complicat.ons,and t.e modified Clavien-Dindo classificat.on was used t. classify post.PD *** Over t.e st.dy period,113 pat.ent. at.a mean age of 57.5 years(st.ndard deviat.on[SD]±9.23;range:30-90;median:56)underwent.PDs at.t.is *** complicat.ons were recorded in 33(29.2%)pat.ent. at.a mean age of 53.8 years(SD:±7.9).t.ent.-nine(87.9%)pat.ent. who experienced major morbidit. were salvaged aft.r aggre-ssive t.eat.ent.of t.eir ***(3.5%)died from bleeding pseudoaneurysm(1),sept.c shock secondary t. a bile leak(1),anast.mot.c leak(1),and myocardial infarct.on(1).t.ere was a significant.y great.r salvage rat. in pat.ent. wit. Soil microorganism biomass and respirat.on and t.e soil nemat.de communit. were observed in t.e hypersaline desert.valley t.at.is found bet.een t.e Dead Sea and t.e Red Sea. t.e lowest.point.of t.e valley is approximat.ly 400 m below sea level, and is t.e lowest.point.on eart.. Soil samples (n = 72) were collect.d from t.e 0-10 and 10-20 cm soil layers at.different.alt.t.des (from -400 t. +100 m) in t.e open spaces bet.een plant. during one of t.e most.ext.eme xeric periods. Bot. soil microbial respirat.on and microbial biomass were found t. be negat.vely dependent.on soil moist.re (SM) and organic mat.er (OM), and posit.vely dependent.on pH values. t.e physical-chemical charact.rist.cs of t.is hypersaline area were ext.emely unfavorable for t.e soil nemat.de communit.es, and t.e nemat.des were ent.rely absent.in t.e open area below sea level. t.e bact.rivores were found t. be t.e most.resist.nt.nemat.des in t.is hyperarid region, wit. t.e Wilsonema being t.e most.widespread genus. BACKGROUND Variat.ons in t.e anat.my of hepat.c veins are of int.rest.t. t.ansplant.surgeons,int.rvent.onal radiologist.,and ot.er medical pract.t.oners who t.eat.liver *** drainage pat.erns of t.e right.hepat.c veins(RHVs)are part.cularly relevant.t. t.ansplant.t.on *** t.e aim was t. ident.fy variat.ons of t.e pat.erns of venous drainage from t.e right.side of t.e *** t.e best.of our knowledge,t.ere have been no report. on RHV variat.ons in in a Caribbean *** t.o radiologist. independent.y reviewed 230 cont.ast.enhanced comput.d t.mography scans performed in 1 year at.a hepat.biliary referral *** out.low pat.erns were observed and RHV variant. were described as:(1)t.ibut.ries of t.e RHV;(2)Variat.ons at.t.e hepat.caval junct.on(HCJ);and(3)Accessory *** A t.t.l of 118 scans met.t.e inclusion *** 39%of t.e scans found convent.onal anat.my of t.e main hepat.c *** RHVs were present.49.2%and included a well-defined inferior RHV draining segment.Vi(45%)and a middle RHV(4%).At.t.e HCJ,83 of t.e 118(70.3%)had a superior RHV t.at.received no t.ibut.ries wit.in 1 cm of t.e junct.on(Nakamura and t.uzuki t.pe i).in 35 individuals(29.7%)t.ere was a short.superior RHV wit. at.least.one variant.*** t. t.e Nakamura and t.uzuki classificat.on,t.ere were 24 t.pe ii variant.(20.3%),six t.pe iii variant.(5.1%)and,five t.pe iV variant.(4.2%).CONCLUSiON t.ere was significant.variat.on in RHV pat.erns in t.is population,each wit. import.nt.relevance t. liver *** radiologist. and hepat.biliary surgeons pract.cing in t.e Caribbean must.be cognizant.of t.ese differences in order t. minimize morbidit. during invasive procedures.
