We study the ground state of an S=1/2 anisotropic a (≡Jz/Jxy) Heisenberg antiferromagnet with nearest (J1) and next-nearest (J2) neighbor exchange interactions on a triangular lattice using the exact diagonalization method. We obtain the energy, squared sublattice magnetizations, and their Binder ratios on finite lattices with N≤36 sites. We estimate the threshold J(t) 2 (a)?between the three-sublattice Néel state and the spin liquid (SL) state, and J(s) 2 (a)? between the stripe state and the SL state. the SL state exists over a wide range in the α-J2 plane. For α>1 , the xy component of the magnetization is destroyed by quantum fluctuations, and the classical distorted 120°structure is replaced by the collinear state.

Background: Ezrin is a linker protein between actin filaments and cell adhesion molecules, which plays an important role in cancer progression. there are only a few studies available that have investigated ezrin expression in different types of tumors. However, the prognostic importance of ezrin and its correlation with clinicopathological characteristics are yet to be delineated in gastric carcinoma. Methods: Specimens from 124 gastric carcinoma patients of t2 and t3 diseases treated in a defined period with curative operation were evaluated for ezrin, CD8 and cleaved caspase-3 expression by immunohistochemical methods. Results: Ezrin expression was detected in both cancer cells and interstitial cells (ISCs) infiltrated into the tumor. According to our criterion, 37 patients (29.8%) were positive for ezrin expression and 87 (70.2%) were negative. A significant correlation between ezrin expression and any of the clinicopathological characteristics could not be found. In Spearman-rank correlation test, a significant correlation was found between the number of ezrin-stained ISCs and apoptotic index (AI) of cancer cells. Also the AI of cancer cells was significantly higher in ezrin-positive group when compared with ezrin-negative group. Patients with ezrin-expressing tumors had a significantly better disease-free survival, and in multivariable analysis ezrin expression status remained significant as an independent prognostic factor. Conclusion: taken together, our results suggest that ezrin expression may play a vital role in tumor apoptosis and that it can be a useful tool for therapeutic intervention.

Endoscopic occlusion with silicone spigots for the closure of refractory esophago-bronchiole fistula after esophagectomy

A 65-year-old man with ct1bN0M0 stage I middle thoracic esophageal cancer underwent subtotal esophagectomy and gastric tube reconstruction through the posterior mediastinal route after preoperative carbon-ion radiotherapy and chemotherapy in a clinical trial. Anastomotic leakage occurred, but it spontaneously improved. At six months after the operation, he was rehospitalized with a cough and dysphagia. An esophago-bronchiole fistula and stenosis of the gastric tube were observed. He first underwent stent placement in the gastric tube. two weeks later, the syringeal epithelium was burned by argon plasma coagulation after stent removal. Endoscopic occlusion was then performed for the fistula with two guidewire-assisted silicone spigots. two weeks later, he was discharged on an oral diet, and he has not developed recurrence of the fistula or cancer for three years. this is the first report of endoscopic occlusion with a guidewire-assisted silicone spigot through the esophagus.

丰田汽车公司正在开发一系列符合经济型高热效率燃烧(EStEC)开发理念的发动机。继2.0L缸内直喷涡轮增压发动机8AR-FtS投放市场后,介绍8NR-FtS发动机的开发。8NR-FtS发动机为1.2L直列4缸火花点燃式的小型化涡轮增压缸内直喷汽油机。基于8AR-FtS发动机相同的基本理念,8NR-FtS发动机集成了各种节能技术,诸如集成排气歧管的气缸盖、通过带有中间锁止装置的智能广角可变气门正时系统(VVt-iW)实现的阿特金森循环,以及为实现快速燃烧采取的缸内强化涡流。该发动机采用缸内直喷的直喷涡轮增压(D-4t)系统,替代了兼备进气道喷射和缸内直喷的涡轮增压高版本汽油机(D-4St)系统。结合单涡道涡轮增压器和VVt系统的控制,实现了发动机低速工况下的高扭矩特性。该发动机还采用了起停控制策略,通过在第一个压缩的气缸内分层喷射,实现了快速无冲击重新起动。发动机可以匹配6档手动变速器(6Mt)或无级变速器(CVt)。尤其在CVt模式下,通过换档控制,减小了涡轮增压器的滞后期;通过"常规"和"运动"两种驾驶模式的转换,能够实现具有驾驶乐趣的动力性能和出色的燃油经济性。

By measuring frequency dependence of photoinduced double peaks of disaccommodation, DA as a function of temperature was observed at very low frequency: 0.07～0.30 kHz, in a single crystal of yttrium iron garnet, YIG with small amounts of Ca: 0.001, white only single peak existed at the higher frequency 0.5 kHz. the behavior is explained based on theoretical approach on a domain wall dynamics.

In characterizing the chiral phase-structure of pseudoscalar(J^(pc) = 0^(-+)), scalar(J^(pc) = 0^(++)), vector(J^(pc) =1^(--)) and axial-vector(J^(pc) = 1^(++)t) meson states and their dependence on temperature, chemical potential, and magnetic field,we utilize the SU(3) Polyakov linear-sigma model(PLSM) in the mean-field approximation. We first determine the chiral(non)strange quark condensates,σ_l and σ_s, and the corresponding deconfinement order parameters, φ and φ~*, in thermal and dense(finite chemical potential) medium and finite magnetic field. the temperature and the chemical potential characteristics of nonet meson states normalized to the lowest bosonic matsubara frequency are analyzed. We note that all normalized meson masses become temperature independent at different critical temperatures. We observe that the chiral and deconfinement phase transitions are shifted to lower quasicritical temperatures with increasing chemical potential and magnetic field. thus, we conclude that the magnetic field seems to have almost the same effect as the chemical potential, especially on accelerating the phase transition, i.e. inverse magnetic catalysis. We also find that increasing the chemical potential enhances the mass degeneracy of the various meson masses, while increasing the magnetic field seems to reduce the critical chemical potential, at which the chiral phase transition takes place. Our mass spectrum calculations agree well with the recent PDG compilations and PNJL, lattice QCD calculations, and QMD/UrQMD simulations.

Prognostic Value of SUVmax of 18F-FDG PEt/Ct in Early Stage Breast Cancer with No LN Metastasis

Purpose: to investigate the correlation between SUVmax of FDG-PEt/Ct and pathological findings including prognostic factors in early-stage t1-t2 breast cancer patients with no LN metastasis. Materials and Methods: this retrospective study investigated 75 patients (mean age 58.9 years;age range 30 - 82 years) with invasive breast cancer who underwent FDG-PEt/Ct for preoperative staging. All patients underwent subsequent surgery without prior neoadjuvant chemotherapy or endocrine therapy, and those who were confirmed to have t1- or t2-stage by histopathology with no LN metastasis were included. two patients who had no perceptible FDG accumulation on PEt/Ct scans were excluded. the correlations between the SUVmax of the tumor and the pathological and immunohistochemical data were evaluated. Results: the mean SUVmax for the total 73 tumors was 5.46 ± 4.05. the mean SUVmax was 3.95 ± 3.28 for the t1 stage group (n = 36) and 7.23 ± 4.10 (p p p p = 0.008), and high Ki-67 status (p tively. Conclusion: In t1-t2 breast cancer with no LN metastasis, the SUVmax of FDG-PEt/Ct had significant positive relationships with several prognostic parameters of pathological status. Even in early-stage breast cancer patients, pretreatment FDG-PEt/Ct is useful for predicting malignant behavior and prognosis).

A 91-year-old man was referred to our hospital with intermittent dysphagia. He had undergone esophagectomy for esophageal cancer(t3N2M0 Stage Ⅲ) 11 years earlier. Endoscopic examination revealed an anastomotic stricture; signs of inflammation,including redness,erosion,edema,bleeding,friability,and exudate with white plaques; and multiple depressions in the residual esophagus. Radiographical examination revealed numerous fine,gastrografinfilled projections and an anastomotic stricture. Biopsy specimens from the area of the anastomotic stricture revealed inflammatory changes without signs of malignancy. Candida glabrata was detected with a culture test of the biopsy specimens. the stricture was diagnosed as a benign stricture that was caused by esophageal intramural pseudodiverticulosis. Accordingly,endoscopic balloon dilatation was performed and antifungal therapy was started in the hospital. Seven weeks later,endoscopic examination revealed improvement in the mucosal inflammation; only the pseudodiverticulosis remained. Consequently,the patient was discharged. At the latest follow-up,the patient was symptomfree and the pseudodiverticulosis remained in the residual esophagus without any signs of stricture or inflammation.
