Determination of the feasible setup parameters of a workpiece to maximize the utilization of a five-axis milling machine

The machining industry must maximize the machine tool utilization for its efficient and effective usage. Determining a feasible workpiece location is one of the significant tasks performed in an iterative way via machining simulations. The maximum utilization of five-axis machine tools depends upon the cutting system’s geometry, the configuration of the machine tool, and the workpiece’s location. In this research, a mathematical model has been developed to determine the workpiece’s feasible location in the five-axis machine tool for avoiding the number of iterations, which are usually performed to eliminate the global collision and axis limit errors. In this research, a generic arrangement of the five-axis machine tool has been selected. The mathematical model of post-processor has been developed by using kinematic modeling methods. The machine tool envelopes have been determined using the post-processor and axial limit. The tooltip reachable workspace is determined by incorporating the post-processor, optimal cutting system length, and machining envelope, thereby further developing an algorithm to determine the feasible workpiece setup parameters accurately. The algorithm’s application has been demonstrated using an example. Finally, the algorithm is validated for feasible workpiece setup parameters in a virtual environment. This research is highly applicable in the industry to eliminate the number of iterations performed for the suitable workpiece setup parameters.

Five test sections with different additives and strategies were established to rehabilitate a State-maintained highway more effectively in Rhode Island （RI）： control, calcium chloride, asphalt emulsion, Portland cement and geogrid. Resilient moduli of subgrade soils and subbase materials before and after full depth rehabilitation were employed as input pa- rameters to predict the performance of pavement structures using AASHTOWare Pave- ment ME Design （Pavement ME） software in terms of rutting, cracking and roughness. It was attempted to use Level i input （which includes traffic full spectrum data, climate data and structural layer properties） for Pavement ME. Traffic data was obtained from a Weigh- in-Motion （WIM} instrument and Providence station was used for collecting climatic data. Volumetric properties, dynamic modulus and creep compliance were used as input pa- rameters for 19 mm （0.75 in.} warm mix asphalt （WMA） base and 12.S mm （0.5 in.） WMA surface layer. The results indicated that all test sections observed AC top-down （longitu- dinal） cracking except Portland cement section which passed for all criteria. The order in terms of performance （best to worst） for all test sections by Pavement ME was Portland cement, calcium chloride, control, geogrid, and asphalt emulsion. It was also observed that all test sections passed for both bottom up and top down fatigue cracking by increasing thickness of either of the two top asphalt layers. Test sections with five different base/ subbase materials were evaluated in last two years through visual condition survey and measurements of deflection and roughness to confirm the prediction, but there was no serious distress and roughness. Thus these experiments allowed selecting the best reha- bilitation/reconstruction techniques for the particular and/or similar highway, and a framework was formulated to select an optimal technique and/or strategy for future rehabilitation/reconstruction projects. File labeling techniques have a long history in analyzing the anthological trends in computational *** situation becomes worse in the case of files downloaded into systems from the ***,most users either have to change file names manually or leave a meaningless name of the files,which increases the time to search required files and results in redundancy and duplications of user ***,no significant work is done on automated file labeling during the organization of heterogeneous user files.A few attempts have been made in topic ***,one major drawback of current topic modeling approaches is better *** rely on specific language types and domain similarity of the *** this research,machine learning approaches have been employed to analyze and extract the information from heterogeneous corpus.A different file labeling technique has also been used to get the meaningful and`cohesive topic of the *** results show that the proposed methodology can generate relevant and context-sensitive names for heterogeneous data files and provide additional insight into automated file labeling in operating systems.

The multiphase boost DC-DC converter with stable control strategy is presented. Multi- phase boost DC-DC converter is designed for high voltage and high power applications, and could be achieved by the adjustment of voltage doubler rectifiers on the secondary side of high frequency transformers. The stable control strategy for three phase boost DC-DC converter has been utilized during simulation in this study and this strategy can be extend to N-number of phases. The stable control strategy consists of only three voltage loops, which are sufficient for appropriate and efficient operation of three phase boost DC-DC converter. With the stable control strategy, the equal power balance sharing can be obtained between input and output. The stability of control strategy has been evaluated by simulating the multiphase boost DC-DC converter for the same and mismatch turn ratios of high frequency transformers. The simulation result is good and the objective of the strategy is a- chieved.

Multi-modular system plays an important role in power system architecture because low voltage and low power converters can be connected in any combination parallel or series at input/ output side in order to obtained any given power system specifications. Multi-modular boost haft bridge DC-DC converter in the configuration of input series output parallel has been investigated in this paper. The boost half bridge DC-DC converters are connected in input series output parallel con- figuration in order to achieve equal input voltage sharing and output current sharing between the con- verters. This can be achieved with the help of dynamic control scheme which consists of two loops, a voltage loop and a current loop, for each module. Dynamic behavior of multi-modular converter configuration has been observe by varying the load condition. Moreover, the results obtained through multi-modular converter describe that the system has good dynamic and steady state response. Al- though two converter modules are focused in this paper but it can be modified to any number of modules.

Mango (Mangifera indica L: Anacardiaceae) is regarded as the most liked fruit in tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world. Powdery mildew of mango caused by Oidium mangiferae Bert. is one of the major plant pathological constraints in growing healthy mango orchards. The apparent symptoms of the disease occurred on young tissues of all parts of flowers, leaves and fruits. Severe blossom infection could result in complete damage to fruit;flower failed to open and drop off from the inflorescence. The inflorescence revealed a pattern of disease from tip to downward and showed itself by the emergence of wefts of white mycelium on the affected parts. Twenty-five mango varieties i.e. Langra, Dusehri, Ratole No.12, Fajri, Sindhri, Chaunsa Samar Bahisht, Anwar ratole, Neelam, Yakta, Tota Pari, Sensation, Saroli, Malda, Ghulab e Khas, Chaunsa Black, Chaunsa white, Anmol, Almas, Shan e Ali, Shan e Mustafa, Mahmood Khan, Armughan, Zafaran, Malda Late and Early Gold were evaluated through the observation of symptoms on young inflorescence to determine the disease incidence, disease severity index and average yield of fruit. The study was carried out in a randomized compete block design with twenty-five treatments and three replications. The mango varieties presented different performance in relation to powdery mildew incidence and could be categorized into eight groups. Maximum disease incidence was observed (33.33%, 26.66% and 26.66%, 26.66%) on Dusehri, Chaunsa Samar Bahisht, Malda and Ratole No.12 respectively and minimum disease incidence was (3.66% and 3.66%) noted on Almas and Sensation. These two varieties showed to be tolerant against the disease. It might be concluded that the presence or absence of symptoms caused by the powdery mildew had no such effect on the fruit yield of the mango cultivars.

Polarized 3He neutron spin filters(NSFs)can be used as a vital tool for neutron polarization production and *** China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS),as one of the major neutron facilities in China,has committed resources to the development of a polarized ^(3)He NSF program to support its growing polarized neutron research.A spin-exchange optical pumping(SEOP)-based polarized ^(3)He system and other necessary hardware for NSF transport has been recently *** performance of the system is benchmarked using an in-house developed cell named“Trident”.Neutron beam measurements yield a ^(3)He polarization of 77%with over 200 h of on-beam relaxation *** this newly developed SEOP system with the recently reported cell fabrication station,CSNS is now capable of the fully self-sustained production of ^(3)He NSFs that shall support its future neutron polarization research.

In this paper,we present the performance of a recently developed in-situ spin-exchange optically pumped^(3)He-neutron spin filter system at the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS).The system achieved a^(3)He polarization of over 74%at the beamline *** of neutron transmission experiment results reveals a neutron polarization of>90%and an average transmission of 27%for 2.2Åneutrons,which were maintained for a duration of 120 h of beam *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first in-situ hyperpolarized^(3)He system incorporated on a neutron beamline in *** technology is expected to provide stable,wide-angle,and highly polarized neutrons at the CSNS for materials research and fundamental neutron physics.
