Enhancing Skin Cancer Diagnosis with Deep Learning:A Hybrid CNN-RNN Approach

Skin cancer diagnosis is difficult due to lesion presentation variability. Conventionalmethods struggle to manuallyextract features and capture lesions spatial and temporal variations. This study introduces a deep learning-basedConvolutional and Recurrent Neural Network (CNN-RNN) model with a ResNet-50 architecture which usedas the feature extractor to enhance skin cancer classification. Leveraging synergistic spatial feature extractionand temporal sequence learning, the model demonstrates robust performance on a dataset of 9000 skin lesionphotos from nine cancer types. Using pre-trained ResNet-50 for spatial data extraction and Long Short-TermMemory (LSTM) for temporal dependencies, the model achieves a high average recognition accuracy, surpassingprevious methods. The comprehensive evaluation, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, underscoresthe model’s competence in categorizing skin cancer types. This research contributes a sophisticated model andvaluable guidance for deep learning-based diagnostics, also this model excels in overcoming spatial and temporalcomplexities, offering a sophisticated solution for dermatological diagnostics research.

Along with conventional methods,this paper proposed a method in which ID and 3D models are integrated to identify the self-sourced reservoir potential of the Farewell Formation in the Kupe Gas Field within the Taranaki Basin,New *** rock characteristics were evaluated at both field and basin scales by investigating source rock maturity,type of organic matter,and hydrocarbon generation potential by rock pyrolysis,using Rock-Eval 2 and *** ID thermal and burial history model established the rate of sedimentation and thermal history of the Kupe 4 *** characterization at field-scale was determined by seismic interpretation,well log analysis,and 3D structural and petrophysical *** sediments of the Farewell Formation contain types Ⅱ-Ⅲ(oil/gas prone)and type Ⅲ(gas prone)and have fair-to-excellent generation *** oxygen and hydrogen indices ranged from 3 to 476 mg C0_(2)/g TOC and 26 to 356 mg HC/g TOC,respectively,whereas the thermal maturity determined by vitrinite reflectance values ranged between 0.3%and 0.72%,indicating that the Farewell Formation is in immature-to-mature hydrocarbon generation ***,Farewell Formation was verified to be a good source ***,structural interpretations demonstrated the structural complexity of an extensional and contractional regime within the reservoir *** faults indicated a good reservoir property there with a trapping mechanism as well as migration paths.A well-log-based petrophysical analysis established the presence of up to 70%hydrocarbon saturation within the pore spaces of Farewell *** 3D models confirmed that the Farewell Formation has significant sand zones and hydrocarbon-saturated zones,thereby proving its very good reservoir *** has been proved that the ID and 3D structural schemes,integrated with geological techniques,was vital in identifying the Kupe Field as a self-sourced reservoir.

Analysis of genetic relationship in mutant silkworm strains of Bom-byx mori using inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers

Amplified inter simple sequence repeats （ISSR） markers were used to determine genetic relationships among mutant silkworm strains of Bombyx mori. Fifteen ISSR primers containing simple sequence repeat （SSR） motifs were used in this study. A total of 113 markers were produced among 20 mutant strains, of which 73.45% were found to be polymorphic. In selected mutant genetic stocks, the average number of observed allele was （1.7080 ± 0.4567）, effective alleles （1.5194 ± 0.3950） and genetic diversity （Ht）（0.2901 ± 0.0415）. The dendrogram produced using the unweighted pair group method with arithmetic means （UPGMA） and cluster analysis made using Nei＇s genetic distance resulted in the formation of one major group containing 6 groups separated 20 mutant silkworm strains. Therefore, ISSR amplification is a valuable method for determining the genetic variability among mutant silkworm strains. This efficient molecular marker would be useful for characterizing a considerable number of silkworm strains maintained at the germplasm center.

Kiwifruits were dried with convection drying,microwave drying and hybrid drying methods(hot air+microwave).Effect of different drying treatments-convection drying(CD),microwave drying(MD)and hybrid drying(HD)on physicochemical,nutritional and anti-oxidant properties of kiwifruits were *** hybrid drying technique significantly reduced drying time and increased drying rate as compared to other drying *** dried kiwifruit slices showed the best texture attributes(low hardness,low shrinkage),better color(L*,a*,b*)and were rated best in sensory *** retention of bio-active compounds and reduced browning was also found in HD kiwifruit *** analysis results showed significant positive correlation of phenols with antioxidant *** methods significantly(p<0.05)reduced protein and fat content of dried kiwi ***,a predominant decrease in protein and fat content was recorded in individual drying methods(Convection drying and Microwave drying).Hence,HD could be a more promising technique for development of dried kiwifruit slices.

To optimize the performance of a thermoelectric device for a specific application, the device should be uniquely designed for the application. Achieving an optimum design requires accurate measurements and credible analysis to evaluate the performance of the device and its relationship with the device parameters. To do that, we designed, fabricated, and tested four devices based on Bi2Te3 and Sb2Te3. To evaluate the accuracy of our analysis, experimental measurements were compared with the numerical simulation performed using COMSOLTM. The two sets of results were found to be in full agreement. This is a proof of the accuracy of our experimental measurements and the credibility of our simulation. The study shows that testing or simulating the devices without heat sink will lead to skewed results. This is because the junction will not hold its temperatures value, but will, instead, automatically change its value to the direction of thermal equilibrium. The study shows also that there is no reciprocity between the input and the output characteristics of the devices. Therefore, a device optimized for cooling and heating may not be automatically optimized for energy harvesting. For heating and cooling, temperature sensitivity should be optimized;while for energy harvesting, voltage sensitivity should be optimized. Using heat sink, our devices achieved a voltage sensitivity of 187.77 μV/K and a temperature sensitivity of 6.12 K/mV.

We report on the fabrication and characterization of multi-leg bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3) and antimony telluride (Sb2Te3) thermoelectric devices. The two materials were deposited, on top of SiO2/Si substrates, using Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD). The SiO2 layer was used to provide insulation between the devices and the Si wafer. Copper was used as an electrical connector and a contact for the junctions. Four devices were built, where the Bi2Te3 and Sb2Te3 were deposited at substrate temperatures of 100°C, 200°C, 300°C and 400°C. The results show that the device has a voltage sensitivity of up to 146 μV/K and temperature sensitivity of 6.8 K/mV.

Cartesian Product Based Transfer Learning Implementation for Brain Tumor Classification

Knowledge-based transfer learning techniques have shown good performance for brain tumor classification,especially with small ***,to obtain an optimized model for targeted brain tumor classification,it is challenging to select a pre-trained deep learning(DL)model,optimal values of hyperparameters,and optimization algorithm(solver).This paper first presents a brief review of recent literature related to brain tumor ***,a robust framework for implementing the transfer learning technique is *** the proposed framework,a Cartesian product matrix is generated to determine the optimal values of the two important hyperparameters:batch size and learning *** extensive exercise consisting of 435 simulations for 11 state-of-the-art pre-trained DL models was performed using 16 paired hyperparameters from the Cartesian product matrix to input the model with the three most popular solvers(stochastic gradient descent with momentum(SGDM),adaptive moment estimation(ADAM),and root mean squared propagation(RMSProp)).The 16 pairs were formed using individual hyperparameter values taken from literature,which generally addressed only one hyperparameter for optimization,rather than making a grid for a particular *** proposed framework was assessed using a multi-class publicly available dataset consisting of glioma,meningioma,and pituitary *** assessment shows that ResNet18 outperforms all other models in terms of accuracy,precision,specificity,and recall(sensitivity).The results are also compared with existing state-of-the-art research work that used the same *** comparison was mainly based on performance metric“accuracy”with support of three other parameters“precision,”“recall,”and“specificity.”The comparison shows that the transfer learning technique,implemented through our proposed framework for brain tumor classification,outperformed all existing *** the best of our knowledge,the proposed framework is a

Characterization of optimal resting tension in human pulmonary arteries

AIM To determine the optimum resting tension(ORT) for in vitro human pulmonary artery(PA) ring *** Pulmonary arteries were dissected from disease free sections of the resected lung in the operating theatre and tissue samples were directly sent to the laboratory in Krebs-Henseleit solution(Krebs).The pulmonary arteries were then cut into 2 mm long *** rings were mounted in 25 m L organ baths or 8 m L myograph chambers containing Krebs compound(37 ℃,bubbled with 21% O_2:5% CO_2) to measure changes in isometric *** resting tension was set at 1-gram force(gf) with vessels being left static to equilibrate for duration of one *** contractile reactions to 40 mmol/L KCl were obtained from a resting tension of 1 *** reactions to 40 mmol/L KCl were then obtained from stepwise increases in resting tension(1.2,1.4,1.6,1.8 and 2.0 gf).RESULTS Twenty PA rings of internal diameter between 2-4 mmwere prepared from 4 *** human PA rings incrementing the tension during rest stance by 0.6 gf,up to 1.6 gf significantly augmented the 40 mmol/L KCl stimulated *** enhancement of active tension by 0.4 gf,up to 2.0 gf mitigate the 40 mmol/L KCl stimulated *** Myograph and the organ bath demonstrated identical conclusions,supporting that the radial optimal resting tension for human PA ring was 1.61 *** The radial optimal resting tension in our experiment is 1.61 gf(15.78 m N) for human PA rings.
