Five test sections with different additives and strategies were established to rehabilitate a State-maintained highway more effectively in Rhode Island （ri）： control, calcium chloride, asphalt emulsion, Portland cement and geogrid. Resilient moduli of subgrade soils and subbase materials before and after full depth rehabilitation were employed as input pa- rameters to predict the performance of pavement structures using AASHTOWare Pave- ment ME Design （Pavement ME） software in terms of rutting, cracking and roughness. It was attempted to use Level i input （which includes traffic full spectrum data, climate data and structural layer properties） for Pavement ME. Traffic data was obtained from a Weigh- in-Motion （WIM} instrument and Providence station was used for collecting climatic data. Volumetric properties, dynamic modulus and creep compliance were used as input pa- rameters for 19 mm （0.75 in.} warm mix asphalt （WMA） base and 12.S mm （0.5 in.） WMA surface layer. The results indicated that all test sections observed AC top-down （longitu- dinal） cracking except Portland cement section which passed for all criteria. The order in terms of performance （best to worst） for all test sections by Pavement ME was Portland cement, calcium chloride, control, geogrid, and asphalt emulsion. It was also observed that all test sections passed for both bottom up and top down fatigue cracking by increasing thickness of either of the two top asphalt layers. Test sections with five different base/ subbase materials were evaluated in last two years through visual condition survey and measurements of deflection and roughness to confirm the prediction, but there was no serious distress and roughness. Thus these experiments allowed selecting the best reha- bilitation/reconstruction techniques for the particular and/or similar highway, and a framework was formulated to select an optimal technique and/or strategy for future rehabilitation/reconstruction projects. Understanding scale-up effects on the hydrodynamics of a liquid-solid circulating fluidized bed(LSCFB)unit requires both experimental and theoretical *** implement multigene genetic programming(MGGP)to investigate the solid holdup and distribution in three LSCFB systems with different *** addition to data obtained here,we also use a portion of data sets of LSCFB systems developed by Zheng(1999)and Liang et al.(1996).Model predictions are in good agreement with the experimental data in both radial and axial directions and at different normalized superficial liquid and solid *** radial profiles of the solid holdup are approximately identical at a fixed average cross-sectional solid holdup for the three LSCFB systems *** performance indicators including the mean absolute percentage error(6.19%)and correlation coefficient(0.985)are within an acceptable *** results suggest that a MGGP modeling approach is suitable for predicting the solid holdup and distribution of a scaled-up LSCFB system.

Renal cysts in pediatric patients are uncommon lesion. A modified Bosniak classification system for renal cysts based on US has been developed to evaluate pediatric renal cysts to identify the simple cyst or cystic tumour. Nevertheless, it is not widely used. In this retrospective study, all incidentally detected renal cysts by ultrasound performed in children and the reproducibility of modified Bosniak classification to guide the radiological and clinical follow up.

AIM: To identify genes associated with gastric pre-cancerous lesions in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori )susceptible ethnic Malays. METHODS: Twenty-three Malay subjects with H. pylori infection and gastric precancerous lesions identified during endoscopy were included as "cases". Thirtyseven Malay subjects who were H. pylori negative and had no precancerous lesions were included as "controls". Venous blood was collected for genotyping with Affymetrix 50K Xba1 kit. Genotypes with call rates rium P value > 0.5 was considered as significant markers. RESULTS: Of the 23 H. pylori -positive subjects recruited, one sample was excluded from further analysis due to a low genotyping call rate. Of the 22 H. pylori positive samples, atrophic gastritis only was present in 50.0%, complete intestinal metaplasia was present in 18.25%, both incomplete intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia was present in 22.7%, and dysplasia only was present in 9.1%. SNPs rs9315542 (UFM1 gene), rs6878265 (THBS4 gene), rs1042194 (CYP2C19 gene) and rs10505799 (MGST1 gene) were significantly associated with atrophic gastritis, complete intestinal metaplasia, incomplete metaplasia with foci of dysplasia and dysplasia, respectively. Allele frequencies in "cases" vs "controls" for rs9315542, rs6878265, rs1042194 and rs10505799 were 0.4 vs 0.06, 0.6 vs 0.01, 0.6 vs 0.01 and 0.5 vs 0.02, respectively. CONCLUSION: Genetic variants possibly related to gastric precancerous lesions in ethnic Malays susceptible to H. pylori infection were identified for testing in subsequent trials.

目的拟通过分析不同HTPAP单体型与基因表达及肝细胞癌(hepatocellular carcinoma,HCC)预后的关系,探讨HTPAP单体型对HCC术后复发及预后的影响。方法随机选取377例HCC样本,提取其中以AGCTAC、GCGGGT、AGCTGC和GCGGAT等4种主要HTPAP单体型组成的HCC RNA。绝对定量PCR检测HTPAP基因表达水平,免疫组化染色、RT-PCR和Western blot检测HTPAP蛋白表达水平,分析单体型与基因表达的关系。随机选取665例HCC样本并提取DNA,焦磷酸测序方法对6个单核苷酸多态性(singlenucleotide polymorphisms,SNPs)进行检测。单体型构建后,分析HTPAP单体型与HCC预后的关系。结果 377例HCC中有327例由上述4种主要单体型构成。基因表达分析提示,HCC中HTPAP在GCGGGT纯合子组和AGCTAC/GCGGGT杂合子组的表达低于AGCTAC/GCGGAT杂合子组、AGCTAC/AGCTGC杂合子组及AGCTAC纯合子组,但差异无统计学意义(P=0.062)。免疫组化染色发现GCGGGT纯/杂合子组HCC较其他单体型HCC的HTPAP表达显著降低(P=0.035)。Kaplan-Meier分析提示,GCGGGT纯/杂合子组HCC较其他单体型HCC术后易复发且预后差(P<0.001)。Cox风险比例模型发现GCGGGT单体型是HCC术后复发及预后差的独立相关因子。结论 HCC的不同HTPAP单体型在mRNA水平的表达差异无统计学意义,但在蛋白水平存在显著差异。GCGGGT单体型可作为HCC术后复发和预后差的预测指标。
