Prolonged existence of SARS-CoV-2 RNAs in the extracellular vesicles of respiratory specimens from patients with negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction

Background and aim:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)is primarily in the respiratory tract,particularly in patients with underlying *** study aimed to investigate the presence of the virus inside the extracellular vesicles(EVs)in patients with and without chronic liver disease(CLD).Methods:Eighty patients with positive SARS-CoV-2,including twenty-four patients with CLD and fiftysix patients without CLD,and five healthy controls with negative SARS-CoV-2 were *** swab specimens were tested for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)were followed up on days 7 and *** swab,collected in viral transport media(VTM),and plasma samples were investigated at each time *** were isolated from the nasal swabs(collected in VTM)and plasma using differential ultracentrifugation and estimated at each time *** transmission or replication by the EVs was assessed in Vero E6 ***:In patients with baseline RT-PCR positive,SARS-CoV-2 RNAs inside the EVs were found in 68/80(85%)patients with higher viral load in the nasal swabs than in the EVs(cycle threshold(Ct)value,23.4±5.7 vs.30.3±5.0,P<0.001).On follow-up at day 7,of the 32 patients negative for COVID-19,15(46.9%)had virus persistence in the EVs(Ct value,30.7±2.7),and on day 14,of the 56 patients with negative SARS-CoV-2,16 patients(28.6%)had positive SARS-CoV-2 RNAs in the EVs(Ct value,31.4±3.0).The mean viral load decreased on days 7 and 14 compared to baseline in the nasal swabs(P<0.001)but not in the ***,SARS-CoV-2 RNAs were undetectable in the plasma,but 12.5% of patients were positive in the plasma *** prolonged and high viral load was found in the EVs on day 14 in COVID-19 patients combined with CLD compared with COVID-19 patients(P?0.0004).We found significant higher levels of EV-associated with endothelial cells and hepatocytes

Pitavastatin belongs to the class of coenzyme A reductase *** few methods of assaying pitavastatin from human plasma are available in *** analytical method is presented for the determination of the drug from human plasma making use of the fluorescent property of the *** drug is extracted from plasma using ethyl acetate under neutral condition and then analyzed by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) with fluorescence detection(λEx 245 nm;λEm 420 nm).Analysis of pitavastatin was carried out on a C18 HPLC column using a gradient flow of mobile phase(0.01 mol/L monobasic potassium phosphate(pH 3.20)-acetonitrile,63:37,v/v).Fluorescein isothiocyanate was used as internal *** dynamic range of assay was 3 to 50 ng/*** intraday precision was less than 10% and accuracy ranged from 95.2% to 112.6%.The same for interday check was less than 12% and 92.8% to 105.1%,*** drug was found to be stable under the assay *** developed method is simple,precise,accurate,and *** indicates that it can be applied to routine analysis of this drug in human subjects where there are large numbers of samples without the need of specialized instruments like column switching.

Low-Loss Slow Light Transmission in Photonic Crystal Waveguides Comprising of Liquid Crystal Infiltration

A low loss photonic crystal （PhC） waveguide having rectangular air holes in Si core is proposed having an average group index of 55 in the bandwidth of 1.2 THz. The possible propagation losses due to inefficient coupling arc also investigated for proposed structure. It is found that high transmission is obtained for a broad bandwidth from the output of the finally designed heterogeneous waveguide consisting of a slow liquid crystal infiltrated PhC waveguide surrounded by fast PhC waveguides on both sides.

Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are tissue-specific cells giving rise to all mature blood cell types regulated by a diverse group of hematopoietic cytokines and growth factors that influences the survival & proliferation of early progenitors and differentiation mechanisms by modulating the functional activities of HSCs. In this study, the functional yet distinctive role of three novel combinations of gene pairs RRAGC & PSMC2;CKAP4 & MANF;and CTR9 & CNTNAP2 have been newly identified. These novel combinations of genes were confirmed and expressed in K562 human leukemic cell line in the presence of cytokine combination (IL-3, FLT-3 and SCF) using RT-PCR and siRNA-mediated gene knock down strategy. This study signifies the synergistic role of gene pairs in different molecular activities like ubiquitination or proteasomal degradation, calcium mobilization, dopamine signaling.

Our individual minds, though distinct and uniquely ours, may also join with others in a kind of mental symphony that now and then becomes audible against a prevailing background of static. That＇s a conclusion suggested by the Global Consciousness Project （GCP）. After many years of monitoring multiple world events, researchers report strong evidence of some kind of transpersonal mentality that seems to emerge when many people share a common concern or experience. At such times, a global network of devices employing quantum tunneling has found weak but definite signs of coherence arising out of background ＂noise＂ or randomness. As propounded time and again by Prof. P. S. Satsangi Sahab---the 8th spiritual leader of Radhasoami faith, ＂In human frame, the spirit force resides in the innermost core and is thus covered by subtle mind and gross matter. Accordingly, there is spiritual emanation in the form of spiritual wave, particularly from the eyes and forehead of a human being＂. He has also gone on to state--＂As implied by the fundamental axiom of spiritual consciousness, the spirit force possesses prime energy which evolves into various mental or physical forces by its association with media of different kinds＂. This, therefore can be measured--as suggested by various experiments conducted as part of Global consciousness project as well as a preliminary systemic study of spiritual consciousness of Dayalbagh community, during congregational meditation-cum-prayer meetings in the community Hall and measured via random number generators. Through our topic, we aim to focus on conducting a data science specific study of GCP/systemic experiments that allude to the view that there is no disparity between physical science and spiritual science Extend the conclusions to whether Better worldliness can be achieved by raising collective spiritual consciousness.

Transition from amorphous to microcrystalline phase in silicon film has been realised at high power-pressure varying the hydrogen dilution in RFPECVD system. At the transition region the dark conductivity of the film is (σ) ～2.67×10 Scm with its activation energy (E) of～480meV. IR vibrational spectra have shown low microstructural defects in the films compared to films deposited at low power-pressure. Bonded H-content changes from 15.6% to 5.6% in the transition region. The material deserves high promise to be used as intrinsic layers in solar cells.

Predicting adverse maternal and perinatal outcome after threatened miscarriage

Objectives: Threatened miscarriage is the most common complication of pregnancy, occurring in 20% - 25% of ongoing pregnancies. The purpose is to study maternal and perinatal outcome in women with threatened miscarriage. Methods: A prospective study was conducted over a period of 20 months in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pannadhay Mahila Chikitsalaya, a tertiary care center in Udaipur, India. It included a cohort of pregnant patients with a history of threatened miscarriage during the first twenty weeks of pregnancy. They were registered, followed up prospectively at antenatal clinics and delivered in the same hospital. For the purpose of comparison, another group of booked patients (controls) without a history of threatened miscarriage were recruited, similarly scanned and followed throughout pregnancy and labour. All women were matched for age, parity, social class, BMI and gestational age at booking. Discrete variables were taken as counts (or frequencies) and were evaluated by Chi-square test. Continuous variables with normal distribution were presented as mean ± standard deviation (SD) and were compared by unpaired Student’s t test. Data were fed into a Microsoft Excel worksheet and were analyzed by using the SPSS ver.17 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). p-value > 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Out of 62 cases, 13 (21%) patients spontaneously aborted after diagnosis of threatened miscarriage. Women with threatened miscarriage had a significantly higher incidence of low lying placenta (p = 0.02) when compared with those without firsttrimester bleeding. They were more likely to experience PROM (p = 0.02), preterm delivery (p = 0.02) and to have babies with low Birthweight (p = 0.03). Conclusion: Pregnancies complicated by threatened miscarriage are at a higher risk for obstetric complications.

Identification of a person's individuality and sex determination are important for legal as well as identification *** aim of the present study was to check the reliability of cheiloscopy and mandibular canine index(MCI)in the detennination of sex in an *** aim of this study is to analyze difierent lip patterns reproduced by the natural dye(vermilion)and lysochrome(Sudan Black Ⅱ)dyes and to compare the MCI in males and females for the determination of sex and to check the reliability of cheiloscopy and MCI for the *** lip prints were developed using natural dye(vermilion)and lysochrome(Sudan Black Ⅱ)dyes and their patterns categorized according to Tsuchihashi's *** were *** of the two was *** to discriminant functional analysis,percentage accuracy for cheiloscopy in the determination of sex was found to be 55%while for MCI,the same value was 85%.Natural dye(vermilion)was found as an efficient dye compared to lysochrome(Sudan Black Ⅱ)dyes for the development of latent lip *** the dyes showed Type Ⅰ lip print pattern to be common in males and ***,all the parameters in MCI were found to be significant in the determination of sex in an *** results of the present study revealed MCI to be more reliable in the determination of sex than cheiloscopy.

On REE and EER Methods for Mining Corner Points on the Images

This paper reviews, implements and compares two corner detection algorithms for mining corner points on the generic shapes. These corner detectors detect corners by using combination of one rectangle (R) and two ellipses (EE). These algorithms have been used with different combinations: REE and EER together with different parameter settings in their descriptions. REE and EER combinations slide along the boundary of the shape and record number of boundary points in each rectangle and ellipses. REE and EER setup represent both local and global views of the image outlines and present natural corner detection methodologies to detect and mine all true corners accurately. A comparative study demonstrates the superiority of the REE and EER over some of the existing algorithms.
