Evaluation of Dielectric Properties of CCTO-BT/Epoxy Composites for Electronic Applications

In the current study,the calcium copper titanate(CCTO)/epoxy,barium titanate(BT)/epoxy and CCTO-BT/epoxy composite samples with variable volume fractions of CCTO and BT are fabricated using hand lay-up and compression moulding process. The composite samples are characterized for the frequency dependence on dielectric properties,conductivity,impedance spectroscopy and electrical modulus.X-ray diffraction(XRD)representation of CCTO-BT/epoxy composite samples confirmed the presence of both CCTO and BT ceramic samples separately. The dielectric characteristics of hybrid CCTO-BT/epoxy composite samples with CCTO∶BT ratio of 40∶60, 60∶40,and 50∶50 was found relatively better than those of single ceramic filler reinforced epoxy composites. AC conductivity analysis shows improvement in the results of hybrid filler-filled CCTO-BT/epoxy composites in comparison with single filler-filled epoxy composite.50∶50 CCTO-BT/epoxy composite shows the best AC conductivity value of~ 2.2 ×10^(-5) ohm^(-1)·m^(-1) at a higher frequency of 1MHz. The impedance analysis confirms the higher insulating properties for hybrid 40∶60 and 60∶40 CCTO-BT/epoxy composites with respect to the single and other hybrid ceramic epoxy composites. The analysis suggests the hybrid CCTO-BT/epoxy composites to be adopted as a potential dielectric material for energy storage devices and other electronic applications.

Kinetics and mechanisms of solvent extraction and separation of La(Ⅲ) and Ni(Ⅱ) with DEHPA in petrofin

The kinetics of extractive separation of La(Ⅲ) and Ni(Ⅱ) from nitrate medium in the presence of lactic acid (HLac) using di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (DEHPA) diluted in petrofin was investigated using a cell with constant interfacial area and continuous stirring. The effects of stirring speed, interfacial area, pH, HLac concentration, extractant concentration, concentrations of metal ions and temperature on the extraction rate were examined. Results suggested that the extraction regime is diffusion-controlled. The reaction which occurred at the interface was found to be the rate-determining step. The extraction rates of both metal ions are found to be independent of pH. The extraction rates of La(Ⅲ) and Ni(Ⅱ) are first-order dependent with respect to lactic acid and metal ions (La(Ⅲ) and Ni(Ⅱ)) concentrations. The extraction rate of La(Ⅲ) is first-order dependent on DEHPA concentration and for Ni(Ⅱ), it varies to the power of 1.5. The separation of La(Ⅲ) and Ni(Ⅱ) from nitrate solution is possible at low interfacial area and low stirring speed.

Chlorination roasting-coupled water leaching process for potash recovery from waste mica scrap using dry marble sludge powder and sodium chloride

The present paper reports the effective utilization of marble sludge powder(MSP)for the recovery of potash values from waste mica scrap using chlorination roasting-water leaching *** studies indicated the presence of dolomite as the major mineral phase in MSP,whereas muscovite and quartz were observed in the mica *** acid leaching studies suggest a maximum of 22%potash recovery under conditions:4 M H2SO4 acid,particle size of^100μm,stirring speed of 600 r/min,leaching temperature of 75℃,and leaching time of 90 *** chlorination roasting-water leaching process was adopted to achieve the lowest level of 80%-90%potash *** optimum conditions for the recovery of^93%potash from mica(~8.6wt%K2O)requires 900℃ roasting temperature,30 min roasting time,and 1:1:0.75 mass ratio of mica:MSP:*** roasting temperature and amount of NaCl are found to be the most important factors for the recovery *** reaction mechanism suggests the formation of different mineral phases,including sylvite(KCl),wollastonite,kyanite,and enstatite,during roasting,which were confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD)analyses and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)*** MSP-blended NaCl additive is more effective for potash recovery compared with the other reported commercial roasting additives.

Background:The present study examines the short term dynamics and long term equilibrium relationship among the stock markets of 17 countries in Western Europe as well as the world market,using time series ***:Weekly returns of market benchmark indices of the respective countries are used from the second week of 1995 to the fourth week of December ***:The study finds that the market returns of Austria,Belgium,the Netherlands,and France are relatively less dynamically interlinked as compared with Britain,Denmark,Finland,Germany,Portugal,Spain,Sweden,Switzerland,Greece,Ireland,Luxembourg,and Norway,which are quite dynamically interlinked within the region as well as with the MSCI world ***:There exists a strong long run equilibrium relationship between the return distributions of the stock markets within the region.

Removal efficiency of fluoride by novel Mg-Cr-Cl layered double hydroxide by batch process from water

The fluoride ion removal from aqueous solution using synthesized Mg-Cr-Cl layered double hydroxide has been ***-Cr-Cl was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction,Fourier-transform infrared,thermo-gravimetric analysis,differential thermal analysis,and scanning electron *** experiments were carried out in batch mode as a function of adsorption dosages,contact time,pH,and initial fluoride concentration to get optimum adsorption *** adsorption kinetic study showed that the adsorption process followed first order *** fluoride removal was 88.5% and 77.4% at pH 7 with an adsorbent dose of 0.6 g/100 mL solution and initial fluoride concentration of 10 mg/L and 100 mg/L,*** equilibrium was established at 40 *** experiment data were fitted well with Langmuir isotherm with R 2 = *** constants were also measured and concluded that the adsorption process was spontaneous and endothermic in *** removal percentage decreased slowly with increasing *** process is suitable for industrial *** regeneration of the material is not possible.

Mineralogy, liberation and leaching characteristics of iron oxide phases in an Indian diaspore sample

The removal of iron from an Indian diaspore sample was studied using magnetic separation and leaching techniques aided by an in-depth mineralogical characterization study involving quantitative mineralogical evaluation by scanning electron microscope（QEMSCAN）, electron probe micro-analyzer（EPMA） and X-ray diffraction（XRD）. The characterization studies indicate that extremely fine-sized hematite grains are associated with several other mineral phases in a complex manner with around 60% of the hematite not liberated even below the size of 38 μm limiting the scope of physical separation processes to remove the iron. Wet high intensity magnetic separation（WHIMS） studies reveal that only 49% of iron can be removed. Further, leaching studies using oxalic acid suggest that around 76% of the iron can be removed under conditions such as a solid to liquid ratio of 0.05：1, a temperature of 90 ℃ a time period of 120 min and an acid concentration of 1 mol/L. The dissolution of iron in oxalic acid is found to be controlled by chemical reaction and the activation energy is calculated as 35.15 k J/mol.

Submental island flap reconstruction for carcinoma of the oral cavity: Experience in 30 cases

Objective:The submental flap can be utilized for soft tissue reconstruction in oral cavity malignancies because due to its close approximation to the surgical site,fewer donor site morbidity and the cost effectiveness of the ***:A total of 30 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity were included in the study from July 2012 to August 2015 in a tertiary care referral *** with clinical staging Ⅰ/Ⅱ/Ⅲ (T1/T2/T3,N0) oral malignancy were included in the *** with nodal metastasis irrespective of the stage of disease and patients with chronic medical illness/revision cases were excluded from the *** island flap was utilized for the reconstruction of the soft tissue defect in each *** were followed at monthly interval till 6 months in the postoperative ***:The buccal mucosa (12 patients),tongue (10 patients) and floor of mouth (8 patients) were the subsites in the oral *** and complete skin necrosis was found in 4 and 2 patients *** chemoradiation was required in 5 *** of the patients had loco regional recurrence till 6 months of ***:The submental island flap is considered to be the reliable option for the soft tissue reconstruction in oral cancer because of dependent vascular pedicle,less donor site morbidity and the lower cost compared to the free flaps,often preferred in patients with a lower socioeconomic condition.

DNA damage in exfoliated buccal cells and antioxidant status of saliva in brain tumour patients

The present investigation was carried out in exfoliated buccal cells and saliva collected from pre-operative brain tumour patients. The DNA damage in these cells was assessed by alkaline comet assay and micronucleus (MN) assay. Salivary flow rate, pH, osmolality, total antioxidant activity (AOA) and vitamin C levels were also assessed in unstimulated whole saliva of these patients. In the comet assay a significant increase in the tail length (P<0.02) was observed when control and malignant groups were compared. A significant (P<0.02) difference in tail length was also noted between benign and malignant groups. Non significant results were found when control and benign groups were compared. Further, a marked increase in % MN (P<0.002) was observed when control and benign groups were compared. A significant increase in % MN (P<0.029) was also observed in benign cases when compared to malignant tumours. No significance was obtained when % MN in control and malignant cases was compared. Moreover, salivary flow rate and pH was significantly decreased and osmolality was markedly increased in brain tumour patients. The AOA levels in saliva were markedly decreased in brain tumours and vitamin C levels exhibited no change when compared to controls. Thus, as noted above susceptibility to free radical induced DNA damage also exists in the exfoliated buccal cells conducive to the lowered salivary antioxidant status of brain tumour patients.

Surgical management of extracranial nerve sheath tumours in a tertiary care center

Objective:Excision of the nerve sheath tumours of head and neck is always a challenge to the surgeon because of their close proximity of the neurovascular ***:It is a retrospective study contained 13 consecutive patients of nerve sheath tumours involving the head and neck from March 2013 to February 2017 in the department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery in a tertiary care referral hospital The retrospective clinical data,diagnostic procedures,surgical approaches and their complications are analyzed after 12 months of ***:Total 13 patients,7 were females and 6 were *** neck swelling was the most common presentation found in 6 and the most common site of origin was the vagus nerve in the parapharyngeal space (6 patients).Transcervical excision of the tumour was performed in 7 *** needed combined surgical approach for the excision of the *** injury was detected in 3 patients,and one patient had recurrent disease during the follow-up ***:Excision of the nerve sheath tumours of head and neck is always a challenge to the surgeon because of their close proximity of the neurovascular *** the transcervical approach is commonly practiced for the majority of the tumours,combined approaches can be effectively applied for extensive nerve sheath tumours with the satisfactory clinical outcome.
