Biostratigraphy versus isotope geochronology: Testing the Urals island arc model

Formation of the Urals volcanic-hosted massive sulphide(VHMS) deposits is considered to be related with the intra-oceanic stage of island arc(s) development in the Upper Ordoviciane Middle Devonian based on the biostratigraphic record of ore-hosting sedimentary rocks. However, the direct Re-Os dating of four known VHMS systems in the Urals gives significantly younger Re-Os isochron ages ranging from355 ± 15 Ma up to 366 ± 2 Ma. To address this discrepancy, we performed SHRIMP U-Pb dating on zircons extracted from rhyodacites(Eifelian biostratigraphic age of 393 -388 Ma) from the footwall of the Alexandrinka VHMS deposit which has a Re-Os isochron age of sulphides of 355 ± 15 *** ^(206) Pb/^(238) U mean age of 374 ± 3 Ma(MSWD ? 1.4 and probability ? 0.11) is considered to be the crystallisation age of the host volcanic rock. This age is ca. 15 Ma younger than the Eifelian(393 -388 Ma)biostratigraphic age and overlaps the Frasniane Famennian boundary(372 ± 2 Ma), characterised by the final stages of Magnitogorsk Arc e East European continent collision. Such an inconsistency with geochronological age may be due to a reburial of conodonts during resedimentation as a result of erosion of older rocks in younger sedimentary sequences.

Hall effect of light is a result of symmetry breaking in spin and/or orbital angular momentum(OAM)possessing optical system and is caused by *** index gradient/interface between media or focusing of a spatially asymmetrical beam,similar to the electric field breaking the symmetry in spin Hall effect for *** angular momentum(AM)conservation law in the ensuing asymmetric system dictates redistribution of spin and orbital angular momentum,and is manifested in spin-orbit,orbit-orbit,and orbit-spin conversions and reorganization,***-orbit and orbit-orbit *** AM restructuring in turn requires shifts of the barycenter of the electric field of *** the present study we show,both analytically and by numerical simulation,how different electric field components are displaced upon tight focusing of an asymmetric light beam having OAM and *** relation between field components shifts and the AM components shifts/redistribution is presented ***,we experimentally demonstrate,for the first time,to the best of our knowledge,the spin-orbit Hall effect of light upon tight focusing in free *** is achieved using azopolymers as a media detecting longitudinal or z component of the electrical field of *** findings elucidate the Hall effect of light and may broaden the spectrum of its applications.

Progress in the rocket industry is only possible on the basis of new, higher performance and more environmentally friendly materials compared to up-to-date propellant ingredients for liquid, solid, gelled and hybrid propellant systems. In this work, synthetic methods have been developed for the preparation of new energetic azofurazans bearing nitroxymethyl or azidomethyl groups. All prepared compounds were fully characterized by multinuclear NMR and IR spectroscopies, as well as elemental analyses. An analysis of the structural features based on the X-ray single-crystal diffraction made it possible to discuss their influence on the densities of the azofurazans of this study. Thermal decomposition and combustion of nitroxymethyl and azidomethyl azofurazans were studied using a number of complementary experimental techniques, namely thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, manometry, microthermocouple measurements in the combustion wave. The structural and physical characteristics of these new energetic analogues illustrate the extent to which the nature of the explosophoric groups can be used to tune the performace of the azofurazan framework. These azofurazans possess positive calculated enthalpy of formation and are promising candidates for new environmentally friendly energetic materials.

This paper describes in detail the mineralogy of the propylitic alteration of basalt host rocks in the Evevpenta gold occurrence in North Kamchatka. The vein system of the Evevpenta consists of quartz， adularia-quartz， quartz-carbonate veins， and， hydrothermal breccias hosted in dacite. Vein minerals are native gold， tellurides， sulfides， selenides， Au-Ag chlorides. The propylitic alteration occurs at a distance from the epithermal veins; however， it contains characteristic mineral assemblages useful for the reconstruction of an ore-formation environment. Four distinct hydrothermal alteration assemblages were recognized within the propylitic zone in this study: (1) Fluorapatite-fluorine-aluminous titanite， (2) Quartz-calcite-clinochlore， (3) Quartz-calcite-stilbite-montmorillonite， and 4. Calcite-mordenite. The earliest mineral assemblage was formed from an acid F-enriched hydrothermal fluid. The concentration of fluoride in fluid was 0.2–1.2 g/L， and temperature of about 550 ℃. The long-term interaction between the acid hydrothermal fluid and olivine basalt host rocks resulted in increasing pH to near neutral that caused chloritization process. The chloritization stage hydrothermal fluid was enriched in Fe and Mg with temperatures of about 175–210℃， chlorite I， and 120–140℃， chlorite II. The final stage of alteration consists of zeolite group minerals， which were precipitated from the hydrothermal fluid of pH ～ 9 and temperature >135℃. The high pH of the hydrothermal fluid could be explained by the presence of bicarbonates and carbonates and removal of the iron salt from the solution. Based on the alteration mineral assemblages of the propylitic zone， the physical and chemical conditions of the Evevpenta vein system are discussed. The transport of ore elements took place due to the formation of precious metal Cl–and OH–complexes at the stage of hydrothermal system formation with circulation of alkaline sodium chloride solutions. Genotyping of 2 well-known weevil species from the genus Ceutorhynchus （Coleoptera： Curculionidae） distributed in west Palearctic, C. erysimi and C. contractus, revealed phenotype versus genotype inconsistencies in a set of 56 specimens （25 C. erysimi and 31 C. contractus） collected from 25 locations in Serbia and Montenegro. An analysis of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I gene （CO1）, widely used as a barcoding region, and a nuclear gene, elongation factor-v （EF-1α）, revealed stable genetic divergence among these species. The average uncorrected pairwise distances for the CO1 and EF-1α genes were 3.8%, and 1.3%, respectively, indicating 2 genetically well-segregated species. However, the genetic data were not congruent with the phenotypic characteristics of the studied specimens. In the first place, C. erysimi genotypes were attached to specimens with phenotypic characteristics of C. contractus. Species-specific PCR-RFLP assays for the barcoding gene COIwere applied for the molecular identification of 101 additional specimens of both morphospecies （33 C. erysimi and 68 C. contractus） and were found to confirm this incongruity. The discrepancy between the genetic and morphological data raises the question of the accuracy of using a barcoding approach, as it may result in misleading conclusions about the taxonomic position of the studied organism. Additionally, the typological species concept shows considerable weakness when genetic data are not supported with phenotypic characteristics as in case of asymmetric introgression, which may cause certain problems, especially in applied studies such as biological control programs in which the biological properties of the studied organisms are the main focus.

The P-T conditions of auriferous and barren quartz veins from Kopylovsky,Kavkaz and Krasnoye gold deposits in Proterozoic black shales of Bodaybo ore region are presented the first time in this *** inclusions trapped in auriferous quartz are aqueous Na±K-Mg chloride with salinity of 6 wt.%-8.8 wt.%*** temperatures vary from 260 to 350℃,and calculated trapping pressures are 1.2-1.6 *** fluids trapped in barren quartz have more complicated compositions with Na,K,Mg and Fe chlorides,salinity up to 13 wt.%NaCleqv,and homogenization temperatures ranging between 140 and 280℃.The volatiles in fluids are dominated by H2O,followed by CO2 with minor amounts of CH4 and *** suppose that auriferous and barren quartz veins have been formed due to the basic metamorphogenic fluid as evidenced by the close slat and gas fluid composition.

New viral infections,due to their rapid spread,lack of effective antiviral drugs and vaccines,kill millions of people every *** global pandemic SARS-CoV-2 in 2019-2021 has shown that new strains of viruses can widespread very quickly,causing disease and death,with significant socio-economic ***,the search for new methods of combating different pathogenic viruses is an urgent task,and strategies based on nanoparticles are of significant *** work demonstrates the antiviral adsorption(virucidal)efficacy of nanoparticles of porous silicon(PSi NPs)against various enveloped and non-enveloped pathogenic human viruses,such as Influenza A virus,Poliovirus,Human immunodeficiency virus,West Nile virus,and Hepatitis *** NPs sized 60 nm with the average pore diameter of 2 nm and specific surface area of 200 m^(2)/g were obtained by ball-milling of electrochemically-etched microporous silicon *** interaction with PSi NPs,a strong suppression of the infectious activity of the virus-contaminated fluid was observed,which was manifested in a decrease in the infectious titer of all studied types of viruses by approximately 104 times,and corresponded to an inactivation of 99.99%viruses in *** sorption capacity of PSi NPs is possible due to their microporous structure and huge specific surface area,which ensures efficient capture of virions,as confirmed by ELISA analysis,dynamic light scattering measurements and transmission electron microscopy *** results obtained indicate the great potential of using PSi NPs as universal viral sorbents and disinfectants for the detection and treatment of viral diseases.

Polymer solar cells were fabricated based on composite fihns of poly（2-methoxy-5-（2＇-ethyl-hexyloxy）-1,4- phenylenevinylene）（MEH-PPV）：fullerene derivative （6,6）-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester （PCBM） with weight blend ratio of 1 ： 3, 1 ： 4 and 1 ： 5, spin-coated from chloroform （CF）, chlorobenzene （CB）, and o-dichlorobenzene （ODCB） solutions, respectively. Photoinduced current and power conversion efficiency （PCE） of the devices show a dependence on the solvents. The solar cells have the highest PCE at 1 ： 5 blend ratio. Transmis- sion electron microscopy （TEM） morphology reveals that there are some voids in MEH-PPV：PCBM films. The void number decreases with the solvent from CF to CB and ODCB. We found the voids are located at the bottom of the films through electron tomography technique by TEM and film bottom-side morphology study by atomic force microscopy. The charge carrier transport efficiency and collection efficiency should decrease greatly due to the voids, and the more voids the film has, the more degree the efficiencies decrease. PCE of the solar cell prepared from CF is lower than that of the solar cells prepared from CB and ODCB. The void phenomenon of MEH-PPV：PCBM based solar cell and method to investigate the void position provide an experimental evidence and research mentality to fabricate polymer solar cell with high performance.
