Effect of stirring on preparation of hollow copolymer particles by alkali/cooling method

Hollow particles were prepared by the treatment of styrene-metbacrylic acid copolymer particles with alkali/cooling method. the influences of stirring position （in aqueous phase or at the interface of O/W） and stirring speed （90, 110 and 240 r/min） on the formation of hollow particles were investigated. It is found that the soft stirring in aqueous phase at 90 r/min leads to the formation of monohollow particles, while the violent stirring at the interface of O/W and 240 r/min gives non-hollow products. In contrast, the weak stirring in aqueous phase at 110 r/min results in sterically heterogeneous dispersion of methacrylic acid-rich regions within the original particles, and hence the formation of multihollow particles. Further investigation indicates that the change of stirring efficiency provides a way to tune the diffusion behavior of monomer styrene, and therefore influences the distribution of methacrylic acid units in the original particles as well as the morphology of the treated particles.

A study on the ductile deformation domain of the brittle fault in the shallow level ofthe crust is a new probe field for the modern structural geology. taking the southern Jiang-su Province area as an example the orientation measurement of quartz crystals, the com-positional texture observation of three pressure sensitive minerals and the rheological param-eter determination of dislocation densities, etc. have been demonstrated and analysed basedon typical samples in the present paper. In addition, their generation mechanisms arealso discussed from the cataclastic rheology, the dynamic differentiation and the simpleshearing, specially, from the Ode strength theory. Finally, a generative relationship betweenthe ductile deformation domain of the brittle fault system, in the regional layer--slip andthe formation of the stratabound ore deposit is shown as well.

A model considering quantitative effects of diffused carbon and nitrogen gradients and kinetics of phase transformation is presented to examine metallo-thermo-mechanical behavior during carburized and nitrided quenching. Coupled simulation of diffusion, phase transformation and stress/strain provides the final distribution of carbon and nitrogen contents as well as residual stress and distortion. Effects of both transformation and lattice expansion induced by carbon and nitrogen absorption were introduced into calculating the evolution of the internal stress and strain. In order to verify the method and the results, the simulated distributions of carbon and nitrogen content and residual stress/strain of a ring model during carburized and nitrided quenching were compared with the measured data.

A new experimental regime has recently been studied for achieving high fraction of the bootstrap current in the Jt-60U hydrogen *** high poloidal beta(βp~3.61)plasma was obtained by high-power neutral beam injection heating at very high edge safety factor(Ip=0.3 MA,Bt=3.65 t,qeff=25-35)region,and the bootstrap current fraction(fBS)was about 40%using the ACCOME code *** was observed that there were no magnetohydrodynamics instabilities to retard the increase ofβp and fBS parameters in the new regime.

Flume experiments in which the silty deltas were developed under unsteady flows were *** examined several increasing and decrease rates of *** showed that sedimentary processes of a delta were aggradation at high increase rates of discharge,backstepping at middle rates,and progradation at low *** the phase of decreasing flow,there was hysteresis in the development *** if the decrease rate was the same,the process of topographic change was different according to the previous state of the delta *** we found that the development processes related with the sediment balance(erosion-sedimentation) on the topset bed that was quasi-equilibrium state at low increase rates of flow discharge,but was non-equilibrium state at high increase rates of discharge.
