High Mountain Asia(HMA),recognized as a third pole,needs regular and intense studies as it is susceptible to climate *** accurate and high-resolution Digital Elevation Model(DEM)for this region enables us to analyze it in a 3D environment and understand its intricate role as the Water Tower of *** science teams of NAsA realized an 8-m DEM using satellite stereo imagery for HMA,termed HMA 8-m *** this research,we assessed the vertical accuracy of HMA 8-m DEM using reference elevations from ICEsat-2 geolocated photons at three test sites of varied topography and land *** were made from statistical quantifiers and elevation *** the world’s highest mountain,Mount Everest,and its surroundings,Root Mean squared Error(RMsE)and Mean Absolute Error(MAE)resulted in 1.94 m and 1.66 m,respectively;however,a uniform positive bias observed in the elevation profiles indicates the seasonal snow cover change will dent the accurate estimation of the elevation in this sort of test *** second test site containing gentle slopes with forest patches has exhibited the Digital surface Model(DsM)features with RMsE and MAE of 0.58 m and 0.52 m,*** third test site,situated in the Zanda County of the Qinghai-Tibet,is a relatively flat terrain bed,mostly bare earth with sudden river cuts,and has minimal errors with RMsE and MAE of 0.32 m and 0.29 m,respectively,and with a negligible ***,in one more test site,the feasibility of detecting the glacial lakes was tested,which resulted in exhibiting a flat surface over the surface of the lakes,indicating the potential of HMA 8-m DEM for deriving the hydrological *** results accrued in this investigation confirm that the HMA 8-m DEM has the best vertical accuracy and should be of high use for analyzing natural hazards and monitoring glacier surfaces.

Background Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem in Nepal, high in settings marked by prevalent gender and social inequities. Various social stratifiers intersect, either privileging or oppressing individuals based on their characteristics and contexts, thereby increasing risks, vulnerabilities and marganilisation associated with TB. This study aimed to assess the inclusiveness of gender and other social stratifiers in key health related national policies and the Health Management Information system (HMIs) of National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) by conducting an intersectional analysis of TB cases recorded via *** A desk review of key policies and the NTP’s HMIs was conducted. Retrospective intersectional analysis utilized two secondary data sources: annual NTP report (2017–2021) and records of 628 TB cases via HMIs 6.5 from two TB centres (2017/18–2018/19). Chi-square test and multi-variate analysis was used to assess the association between social stratifers and types of TB, registration category and treatment *** Gender, social inclusion and concept of intersectionality are incorporated into various health policies and strategies but lack effective implementation. NTP has initiated the collection of age, sex, ethnicity and location data since 2014/15 through the HMIs. However, only age and sex disaggregated data are routinely reported, leaving recorded social stratifiers of TB patients static without analysis and dissemination. Tuning of Optical Properties via Annealing of Bismuth Ferrite (BiFeO3) Thin Films

In this study we are reporting annealing induced optical properties of bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) thin films deposited on glass substrate via spin coating at 5000 rpm. The structural, optical and surface morphology of BiFeO3 (BFO) thin films have been studied via X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), Optical absorption (UV-Vis) and Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. XRD spectra confirm annealing induced phase formation of BiFeO3 possessing a rhombohedral R3c structure. The films are dense and without cracks, although the presence of porosity in BFO/glass was observed. Moreover, optical absorption spectra indicate annealing induced effect on the energy band structure in comparison to pristine BiFeO3. It is observed that annealing effect shows an intense shift in the UV-Vis spectra as diffuse absorption together with the variation in the optical band gap. The evaluated optical band gap values are approximately equal to the bulk band gap value of BiFeO3.

This paper studies a two stage supply chain with a dominant upstream partner. Manufacturer is the dominant partner and operates in a Just-in-Time environment. Production is done in a single manufacturing line capable of producing two products without stopping the production for switching from one product to the other. The manufacturer imposes constraints on the distributor by adhering to his favorable production schedule which minimizes his manufacturing cost. Distributor on the other hand caters to retailers＇ orders without incurring any shortages and is responsible for managing the inventory of finished goods. Adhering to manufacturer＇s schedule may lead to high inventory carrying costs for the distributor. Distributor＇s problem, which is to find an optimal distribution sequence which minimizes the distributor＇s inventory cost under the constraint imposed by the manufacturer is proved NP-Hard by Manoj et al. （2008）. Therefore, solving large size problems require efficient heuristics. We develop algorithms for the distribution problem by exploiting its structural properties. We propose two heuristics and use their solutions in the initial population of a genetic algorithm to arrive at solutions with an average deviation of less than 3.5% from the optimal solution for practical size problems.

This paper deals with the study of heat transfer and thermal damage in triple layer skin tissue using fractional bioheat model. Here, we consider three types of heating viz. sinusoidal heat flux, constant temperature and constant heat flux heating on skin surface. An implicit finite difference scheme is obtained by approximating fractional time derivative by quadrature formula and space derivative by central difference formula. The temperature profiles and thermal damage in the skin tissue are obtained to study the effect of fractional parameter a on diffusion process for constant temperature and heat flux boundary heating on skin surface. A parametric study for sinusoidal heat flux at skin surface has also been made.

sleep has been studied widely in mammals and to some extent in other vertebrates. Higher vertebrates such as birds and mammals have evolved an inimitable rapid eye movement （REM） sleep state. During REM sleep, postural muscles become atonic and the temperature regulating machinery remains suspended. Although REM sleep is present in almost all the terrestrial mammals, the aquatic mammals have either radically reduced or completely eliminated REM sleep. Further, we found a significant negative correlation between REM sleep and the adaptation of the organism to live on land or in water. The amount of REM sleep is highest in terrestrial mammals, significantly reduced in semi-aquatic mammals and completely absent or negligible in aquatic mammals. The aquatic mammals are obligate swimmers and have to sur- face at regular intervals for air. Also, these animals live in thermally challenging environments, where the conductive heat loss is approximately -90 times greater than air. Therefore, they have to be moving most of the time. As an adaptation, they have evolved unihemispheric sleep, during which they can rove as well as rest. A condition that immobilizes muscle activity and suspends the thermoregulatory machinery, as happens during REM sleep, is not suitable for these animals. It is possible that, in accord with Darwin＇s theory, aquatic mammals might have abolished REM sleep with time. In this review, we discuss the possibility of the intrinsic role of aquatic conditions in the elimination of REM sleep in the aquatic mammals.

The locus coeruleus(LC) is one of the essential chemoregulatory and sleep–wake(s–W) modulating centers in the brain. LC neurons remain highly active during wakefulness, and some implicitly become silent during rapid eye movement(REM) sleep. LC neurons are also involved in CO_2-dependent modulation of the respiratory drive. Acid-sensing ion channels(AsICs) are highly expressed in some brainstem chemosensory breathing regulatory areas, but their localization and functions in the LC remain unknown. Mild hypercapnia increases the amount of non-REM(NREM) sleep and the number of REM sleep episodes, but whether AsICs in the LC modulate s–W is unclear. Here, we investigated the presence of AsICs in the LC and their role in s–W modulation and the state transition from NREM to REM sleep. Male Wistar rats were surgically prepared for chronic polysomnographic recordings and drug microinjections into the LC. The presence of AsIC-2 and AsIC-3 in the LC was immunohistochemically *** of amiloride(an AsIC blocker) and APETx2(a blocker of AsIC-2 and-3) into the LC significantly decreased wakefulness and REM sleep, but significantly increased NREM sleep. Mild hypercapnia increased the amount of NREM and the number of REM episodes. However, APETx2 microinjection inhibited this increase in REM frequency. These results suggest that the AsICs of LC neurons modulate s–W, indicating that AsICs could play an important role in vigilance-state transition. A mild increase in CO_2 level during NREM sleep sensed by AsICs could be one of the determinants of state transition from NREM to REM sleep.

Bi_(2)Te_(3)-based thermoelectric(TE)materials have been demonstrated to be a potential candidate for mainly thermoelectric cooling/refrigeration ***,minority charge carriers excitation at high temperature reduces thermopower which restricts these materials for the use in power *** present work,substitution of Ni on sb site in Bi_(0.5)sb_(1.5-x)NixTe_(3)(x=0,0.01,0.04 and 0.08)actuates the system to supress the intrinsic excitation leading to shift in highest ZT to higher temperature *** Density functional theory(DFT)calculations and experimental results reveal that Ni in Bi_(0.5)sb_(1.5)Te3 provides the extra holes and slightly reduces the band gap Eg which enhances the s of Ni-doped Bi_(0.5)sb_(1.5-x)NixTe_(3) samples and a at elevated ***,Ni-doping in Bi_(0.5)sb_(1.5)Te_(3) also reduces kL which is attributed to the phonon scattering due to mass fluctuations and microstructural features such as grain boundary and strain field domain observed from HRTEM *** favourable condition leads to maximum ZT~1.38 at 433K for Bi_(0.5)sb_(1.46)Ni_(0.04)Te_(3) and ZT_(avg)~1.1 between 300K and *** the calculated theoretical TE conversion device efficiency h of Bi_(0.5)sb_(1.46)Ni_(0.04)Te3(η~5.5%)was achieved to be nearly twice than the efficiency of matrix Bi_(0.5)sb_(1.5)Te3(h~3%).Experimental electronic transport is well corroborated with theoretically estimated DFT results.

For the past few decades,the Internet of Things(IoT)has been one of the main pillars wielding significant impact on various advanced industrial applications,including smart energy,smart manufacturing,and *** applications are related to industrial plants,automation,and e-healthcare *** applications have several issues related to developing,planning,and managing the ***,IoT is transforming into G-IoT(Green Internet of Things),which realizes energy *** provides high power efficiency,enhances communication and ***,this paradigm did not resolve all smart applications’challenges in edge infrastructure,such as communication bandwidth,centralization,security,and *** this paper,we propose the OTs scheme based secure Architecture for Energy-Efficient IoT in Edge Infrastructure to resolve these *** OTs-based Blockchain-enabled distributed network is used at the fog layer for security and *** evaluated our proposed architecture’s performance quantitatively as well as security and *** conducted a comparative analysis with existing studies with different measures,including computing cost time and communication *** a result of the evaluation,our proposed architecture showed better performance.
