AIM: To elucidate the cardioprotective effects of T-type calcium channel blocker mibefradil and compare with that of the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor ramipril in a stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR- SP) model of congestive heart failure (CHF) after myocardial infarction (MI). METHODS: SHR-SP rats were subjected to permanent ligation of the left anterior decending coronary artery. Treatment with mibefradil (10 mg·kg-1·d-1), ramipril (10 mg·kg-1·d-1), or placebo was initiated 4 weeks before surgery and continued up to 6 weeks after induction of MI. Sham-operated rats served as controls. RESULTS: In placebo-treated MI rats, six weeks after MI, left ventricular circumference, inner diameter, and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) were increased, whereas mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) and maximum rate of rise of left ventricular pressure (dp/ dtmax) were decreased compared with sham-operated controls (P05), and dp/dtmax was improved (P<0.01) compared with placebo-treated MI rats. In contrast, in mibefradil-treated MI rats, heart weight, heart weight to body weight ratio were slightly but not signifi- cantly reduced, LVEDP was slightly elevated compared with placebo-treated MI rats, and was elevated (P<0.05) compared with ramipril-treated MI rats, although interstitial collagen content were reduced (P<0.01) compared with placebo-treated MI ***: Chronic treatment with ramipril diminishes cardiac remodeling of heart failure after MI to a greater extent than mibefradil. Moreover, 6 weeks after MI, mibefradil treatment results in a slight rise in LVEDP compared with placebo-treated rats. Relationships among Psychosocial Correlates and Stages of Change in a German-Chinese Sample

Promoting Health Enhancing Physical Activity (HEPA) behavior is an important undertaking in Germany as well as in China. In order to create successful interventions in different nations, knowledge about the relevant psychosocial correlates that may encourage successful progression through the behavior change process is necessary. Therefore, the relationships of selected psychosocial correlates of physical activity with stages of change were examined in a German-Chinese sample. In total, 2071 adults (865 Germans, 1206 Chinese) completed a questionnaire. The theoretical framework used was the FIT-model, which consists of the following stages of change: not considering, considering, preparing, exploring, fluctuating and maintaining. All data were analyzed with a two-way ANOVA. Significant main effects for the stages of change on all psychosocial correlates were found. Significant interactions between stages and nations emerged for all correlates except for social support, although these results revealed small effect sizes. To progress within the stages of inactivity, interventions should focus on outcome expectations, barriers, social support and affective attitudes. The successful initiation of physical activity depends on considerations of barriers, maintenance self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation and affective attitudes. These same correlates plus social support are relevant for long-term adherence to physical activity. In Germany, perceived barriers and emotional aspects of physical activity appear to be important for initiating and maintaining regular physical activity. Furthermore, for long-term adherence to physical activity, Germans—in contrast to Chinese adults—may not necessarily benefit from social support;however they could benefit from learning how to strengthen their physical activity outcome expectations.

Non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs) represent over 80% of all malignant lung tumours and are one of the leading causes of cancer death throughout the world. First- and second-line treatment of advanced or metastatic NSCLCs has changed dramatically during the last two decades with the development of novel immunotherapies (e.g., checkpoint inhibitors targeting PD-1, PD-L1, and CTLA-4) sparing NSCLC patients from the toxic effects of chemotherapy. However, only 15% - 20% of all patients respond to treatment. In order to improve response rates, experimental and clinical evidence has provided the basis for further evaluating the combination of co-stimulatory and inhibitory monoclonal antibodies to improve the anti-tumour immune response. Innovative second- and third-generation immuno-oncology drugs are currently evaluated in ongoing phase I-III trials (either alone or in combination) including the new checkpoint inhibitor target TIGIT (T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains). TIGIT functions as an inhibitory immunoglobin receptor which is overexpressed by different immune cells including effector and memory CD4+ T and CD8+ T cells, regulatory T cells (Tregs), follicular T helper cells (Tfh), and natural killer cells. Targeting the interaction between the receptors of the TIGIT receptors (e.g., CD96, CD112R, CD226, TIGIT and their corresponding binding partners) has become an innovative strategy for the next concepts of cancer immunotherapy that has the potential to synergize with PD-1/PD-L1checkpoint inhibition. Currently, four anti-TIGIT monoclonal antibodies are currently being studied in phase III trials in NSCLCs: 1) tiragolumab (SKYSCRAPER programme);2) vibostolimab (KEYVIVE programme);3) domvanalimab (ARC programme), and 4) ociperlimab (AdvanTIG programme). ＜正＞ A major aspect of spontaneous dialogs is resembled by the collaborative process of communication where participants of a dialog cooperate by the production of utterances. Accordingly, not only independent utterances are produced but an utterance started by one agent may be continued bv the other one hased on the structural properties provided so far by the initial utterance. For establishing collaboration in dialogs the computer has to cooperate with the user in so far that the instructions of the user are resumed and carried on by the simulation model in that an appropriate continuation is generated by the system.

AIM: To investigate middle hepatic vein(MHV)management in adult living donor liver transplantation and safer remnant volumes(RV).METHODS: There were 59 grafts with and 12 grafts without MHV(including 4 with MHV-5/8 reconstructions).All donors underwent our five-step protocol evaluation containing a preoperative protocol liver biopsy Congestive vs non-congestive RV, remnantvolumebody-weight ratios(RVBWR) and postoperative outcomes were evaluated in 71 right graft living donors. Dominant vs non-dominant MHV anatomy in total liver volume(d-MHV/TLV vs nd-MHV/TLV) was constellated with large/small congestion volumes(CVindex).Small for size(SFS) and non-SFS remnant considerations were based on standard cut-off- RVBWR and RV/TLV. Non-congestive RVBWR was based on non-congestive ***: MHV and non-MHV remnants showed no significant differences in RV, RV/TLV, RVBWR, total bilirubin, or INR. SFS-remnants with RV/TLV < 30%and non-SFS-remnants with RV/TLV ≥ 30% showedno significant differences either. RV and RVBWR for non-MHV(n = 59) and MHV-containing(n = 12)remnants were 550 ± 95 ml and 0.79 ± 0.1 ml vs568 ± 97 ml and 0.79 ± 0.13, respectively(P = 0.423 and P = 0.919. Mean left RV/TLV was 35.8% ± 3.9%.Non-MHV(n = 59) and MHV-containing(n = 12)remnants(34.1% ± 3% vs 36% ± 4% respectively,P = 0.148. Eight SFS-remnants with RVBWR < 0.65 had a significantly smaller RV/TLV than 63 non-SFSremnants with RVBWR ≥ 0.65 [SFS: RV/TLV 32.4%(range: 28%-35.7%) vs non-SFS: RV/TLV 36.2%(range: 26.1%-45.5%), P < 0.009. Six SFS-remnants with RV/TLV < 30% had significantly smaller RVBWR than 65 non-SFS-remnants with RV/TLV ≥ 30%(0.65(range: 0.6-0.7) vs 0.8(range: 0.6-1.27), P < ***(2.8%) donors developed reversible liver *** and RV/TLV were concordant in 25%-33%of SFS and in 92%-94% of non-SFS remnants.
