We study embeddings between generalised Triebel–Lizorkin–Morrey spacesε_(ϕ,p,q)^(s)(R^(d))and within the scales of further generalised Morrey smoothness spaces like N_(ϕ,p,q)^(s)(R^(d)),B_(p,q)^(s,ϕ)(R^(d))and F_(p,q)^(s,ϕ)(R^(d)).The latter have been investigated in a recent paper by the first two authors(2023),while the embeddings of the scale N_(ϕ,p,q)^(s)(R^(d))were mainly obtained in a paper of the first and last two authors(2022).Now we concentrate on the characterisation of the spacesε_(ϕ,p,q)^(s)(R^(d)).Our approach requires a wavelet characterisation of those spaces which we establish for the system of Daubechies’*** we prove necessary and sufficient conditions for the embeddingε_(ϕ1,p1,q1)^(s1)(R^(d))→ε_(2ϕ2,p2,q2)^(s)(R^(d)).We can also provide some almost final answer to the question whenε_(ϕ,p,q)^(s)(R^(d))is embedded into C(R^(d)),complementing our recent findings in case of N_(ϕ,p,q)^(s)(R^(d)).

The climatic variability hypothesis(CVH)predicts that organisms in more thermally variable environments have wider thermal breadths and higher thermal plasticity than those from more stable ***,due to evolutionary trade-offs,taxa with greater absolute thermal limits may have little plasticity of such limits(trade-off hypothesis).The CVH assumes that climatic variability is the ultimate driver of thermal tolerance variation across latitudinal and altitudinal gradients,but average temperature also varies along such *** explored intraspecific variation of thermal tolerance in three typical Mediterranean saline water beetles(families Hydrophilidae and Dytiscidae).For each species,we compared two populations where the species coexist,with similar annual mean temperature but contrasting thermal variability(continental *** population).We estimated thermal limits of adults from each population,previously acclimated at 17,20,or 25℃.We found species-specific patterns but overall,our results agree with the CVH regarding thermal ranges,which were wider in the continental(more variable)*** the two hydrophilid species,this came at the cost of losing plasticity of the upper thermal limit in this population,supporting the trade-off hypothesis,but not in the dytiscid *** results support the role of local adaptation to thermal variability and trade-offs between basal tolerance and physiological plasticity in shaping thermal tolerance in aquatic ectotherms,but also suggest that intraspecific variation of thermal tolerance does not fit a general pattern among aquatic *** such intraspecific variation could lead to inaccurate predictions of the vulnerability of aquatic insects to global warming.

The aggregation dynamics of fine sediments was analysed through laboratory tests using Couette and disk *** was shown that floc sizes tend to increase as concentrations grow both in fresh and salt water,in agreement with the aggregation theory,and that equilibrium diameters are slightly greater in salt environments for flocs developed either under shear stress or by differential *** transport and the aggregation processes were preliminarily studied in the estuary of the Paraiba do sul River using a particle tracking model and field *** floc breakup process by shear stress was included in the *** stresses,which were determined by fractal dimensions and differential density,were accounted *** the calibration of the collision efficiency coefficients,the numerical model was able to predict floc sizes comparable with those measured at the Paraiba do sul estuary,which,in turn,were similar to those obtained during the laboratory experiments in the Couette flocculator.

The indentation size effect(IsE)was studied by instrumented nanoindentation and Vickers hardness measurements on polycrystalline copper,βCuAlBe pseudoelastic and age-hardenable CuBe *** in the load-depth curves at different loads would suggest a change in the behavior of the materials as the load *** was estimated at different loads taking into account the pile-up in each case,which was estimated from the images of the topography obtained by atomic force microscopy(AFM).The effect of the microstructure of Cu-2Be(wt%)samples on the IsE was also *** each copper alloy,the Nix and Gao model was applied to the hardness-depth curves,and significant differences were found for the parameters *** is in the constant nanohardness regime for depths below 500 nm,while microhardness exhibits the IsE *** behavior of the nanohardness and the plastic strain with the depth is almost *** presents the lowest values of plastic strains due to the pseudoelastic effect,while Cu presents an almost constant value around 8%,which corresponds to the highest plastic strain obtained.

The design of urban squares in the city of Mendoza,Argentina,is based on aesthetic and landscaping criteria without consider strategies to enhance the benefits that green areas generate on the city's micrometeorological *** paper aims to evaluate different design alternatives with the purpose to determine which proportion and distribution of green and sealed areas contributes to achieve the best conditions in terms of thermal behavior and ***-met software was used to simulate thermal conditions over twenty three scenarios,and COMFA method was employed to determine comfort in the scenarios that show the best thermal behaviour and are representative of current design *** results show that the most effective scheme for the memorial squares rehabilitation is the one concentrating 60%of woodlot around a sealed center with an area that does not exceed 20%the square *** effective alternative is the one concentrating 60%of woodlot at the center of the *** findings highlight the importance of an adequate relation between proportion and distribution of woodlot/sealed areas to improve thermal performance and comfort conditions of open spaces.

Recent and historic high-impact events have demonstrated significant flood risks to many coastal areas in Europe and across the *** the behavior of humans in relation to risk management poses grand challenges for both natural and social sciences and *** study analyzes the cultural aspects of coastal risk management and illustrates path-dependencies of concrete disaster risk reduction measures in relation to local contexts in European coastal regions in Northern and south Western *** adopts a comparative approach by targeting risk perception and risk management related to coastal floods and erosion,induced by storms and sea level rise,in two contrasting coastal areas:German coastal state schleswigeHolstein at the Baltic sea(especially the communities Eckernf€orde and Timmendorfer strand)and the Portuguese barrier island system of Ria Formosa(especially the community of Faro Beach).Both regions are very low lying with only a few meters above sea level and exposed to similar hazards such as erosion and floods induced by coastal storms,and while they are both attractive touristic destinations,they are culturally,socio-economically and politically very *** geographical and the socio-cultural contexts of the case study regions are assessed first using an explorative approach,followed by an analysis of the relevance of cultural aspects for the implementation of disaster risk reduction *** study addresses both first responders(city authorities,citizens)and *** is found that the choice of risk reduction measures hinges on the values underlying people's perspectives about the desired outcomes of specific measures and that the role of identity and meaning making are still undervalued in decision making *** concludes that subjective capacities formed by cultural identities,knowledge,trust coupled with a variety of factors of socio-economic and political texture are important to understand local decision making
