The Asian rice gall midge（Orseolia oryzae WoodMason） is a serious pest of rice that causes huge loss in *** feeding inside the susceptible host,maggots secrete substances that facilitate the formation of a hollow tube-like structure called gall and prevent panicle *** present investigation was carried out to get an account of biochemical changes occurring in the rice plant upon gall midge *** profiling of host tissues from three rice varieties,namely,TN1,Kavya,and rP2068,exposed to gall midge biotype 1（GMB1）,was carried out using gas chromatography mass spectrometry（GC-MS）.TN1 and GMB1 represented compatible interaction,while Kavya and GMB1 as well as rP2068 and GMB1 represented incompatible *** current study identified several metabolites that could be grouped as resistance,susceptibility,infestation,and host features based on their relative *** may be regarded as biomarkers for insect-plant interaction in general and rice-gall midge interaction in particular.

During the modernization or rehabilitation activity,the demolished structural waste causes large soil pollution and unavailability of natural aggregate is the big concern for the construction ***,this manuscript deals with the Composite Steel Circular Column(CSCC)with recycled Aggregate concrete(rAC)as infill is partly used,with the replacement of 25%and 50%in M30 grade of *** internal reinforcement steel is fully replaced by rolled steel tubes(circular and square)with varied thickness,ISA-unequal *** 14 specimens are cast and examined under axial load for analysis of the deflection characteristics,the load-bearing capacity along with its buckling *** experimental values are estimated through LVDT(linear variable differential transducer)at *** curve of load-deflection is drawn with the load *** the date interpretation,it is found column made of 50%-rAC has more than 25%-rAC.

The present study aims to obtain p-y curves(Winkler spring properties for lateral pile-soil interaction)for liquefied soil from 12 comprehensive centrifuge test cases where pile groups were embedded in liquefiable *** p-y curve for fully liquefied soil is back-calculated from the dynamic centrifuge test data using a numerical procedure from the recorded soil response and strain records from the instrumented *** p-y curves were obtained for two ground conditions:(a)lateral spreading of liquefied soil,and(b)liquefied soil in level *** ground conditions are simulated in the model by having collapsing and non-collapsing intermittent boundaries,which are modelled as quay *** p-y curves back-calculated from the centrifuge tests are compared with representative reduced API p-y curves for liquefied soils(known as p-multiplier).The response of p-y curves at full liquefaction is presented and critical observations of lateral pile-soil interaction are *** on the results of these model tests,guidance for the construction of p-y curves for use in engineering practice is also provided.

Background Melatonin is a hormone which is produced from pineal gland in human and is said to have various impacts in human body like controlling sleep wake cycle, regulating the immune and cardiovascular system and regulating the peripheral organ functioning to name a few. researchers have reported that the melatonin levels correlates with cancer *** In this review article, focus has been given to the therapeutic applications and impact of melatonin hormone in human behavior and physiologic activities. Through this article we aim in compiling the scattered information regarding melatonin and its various aspects of importance in human *** We made an analysis of existing hypothesis and studies published on melatonin and circadian rhythm, factors effecting Melatonin secretions in body, sleep disturbances and cancer risks and melatonin therapy in cancer *** Melatonin’s role as an endogenous synchronizer, growing evidence suggests its anti-oxidative activity as well as its having a role in modulating immune responses. Fluctuating melatonin levels can be boosted by ingesting products containing melatonin. A large portion of the examinations detailed by the researchers clearly conclude that keeping up an impeccable sleep-wake cycle and having a healthy diet is extremely important to keep up the regular melatonin levels and in order to stay *** Melatonin is considered as a critical hormone that controls and regulates many functions in our body. Melatonin production is emphatically related to the night time duration. Its most absolute biological role is to convey information to the body about day length for a variety of physiologic functions. This work targets the preparation and char-acterization of an inexpensive TiO2-fly ash composite membrane for oily wastewater treatment. The composite membrane was fabricated by depositing a hydrophilic TiO2 layer on a fly ash membrane via the hydrothermal method, and its structural, morphological and mechanical properties were evaluated. The separation potential of the composite membrane was evaluated for 100-200 mg·L^-1 synthetic oily wastewater solutions. The results show that the composite membrane has excellent separation performance and can provide permeate stream with oil concentration of only 0.26-5.83 mg·L^-1. Compared with the fly ash membrane in the average permeate flux and performance index （49.97 × 10^-4 m^3·m^2·s^-1 and 0.4620%, respectively）, the composite membrane exhibits better performance （51.63× 10^-4 m^3·m^2·s^-1 and 0.4974%）. For the composite surface methodology based ash membrane, the response analysis inferred that the optimum process parameters to achieve maximum membrane flux and rejection are 207 kPa, 200 mg·L^-1 and 0.1769 m·s^-1 for applied pressure, feed concentration and cross flow velocity, respectively. Under these conditions, predicted responses are 41.33× 10^-4 m^3·m^2·s^-1 permeate flux and 98.7% rejection, which are in good agreement with the values obtained from experimental investigations （42.84× 10^-4 m^3·m^2·s^-1 and 98.82%）. Therefore, we have demonstrated that the TiO2-fty ash composite membrane as value added product is an efficient way to recycle fly ash and thus mitigate environmental hazards associated with the disposal of oily wastewaters.

The phenology of figs （Ficus spp. Moraceae） is being monitored in the dry forests of Mudumalai, southern India and individuals belonging to the genus are marked with unique tag numbers and their vegetative and reproductive phenologies have been monitored since August 2000 on a monthly basis. The influence of abiotic factors on fig phenology and the differences between fig and non- fig phenologies are being examined. The seasonality of different phenophases of fig phenology is also being examined. The maximum intensity of leaf flush occurred in drier months. Fig and non-fig species showed significant differences with expansion and senescence phenophases of leafing. Flowering also occurred in drier months. There were significant differences between fig and non-fig species with reproductive phenophases. As with non-fig species, leafing was influenced by maximum temperatures. Both vegetative and reproductive phenophases were significantly seasonal.

A basic 7-level MLI topology is developed and the same is extended to the 9-level then further increased to *** developed structure minimizes the component’s count and size to draw out the system *** the various advantages of MLIs,efficiency and reliability play a major role since the usage of components is higher for getting a low Total Harmonics Distortion(THD)*** becomes a major challenge incorporated in boosting the efficiency without affecting the THD *** parametric observations are done and realized for the designed 9-level and 17-level MLI,being the Total Standing Voltage(TSV),efficiency,cost function per level count,and power *** respective parameters are compared with several existing and modern circuits and found to be effective in their performance.A novel single-phase 17-level asymmetrical Multi-Level Inverter(MLI)topology is developed to reduce the number of overall *** developed topology generates 17-levels by using unequal DC *** developed MLI is proved under various tests con-ducted experimentally for the various loads like resistive,inductive,and combinational loads.A detailed comparison is done on several factors and represented graphically ***,the proposed design provides a less TSV value is 6 V_(dc),efficiency is 94.21%and cost factor per level CF/L value for both values ofαis 2.01 and 2.05 and devices count with a low THD value 41.4%with respectively.
