Multi-material Bio-inspired Soft Oc.opus Robot for Underwater Sync.ronous Swimming

Inspired by the simple yet amazing morphology of the Oc.opus, we propose the design, fabric.tion, and c.arac.erization of multi-material bio-inspired soft Oc.opus robot (Oc.obot). 3D printed molds for tentac.es and head were used. The tentac.es of the Oc.obot were c.sted using Ec.flex-0030 while head was fabric.ted using relatively flexible material, i.e., OOMOO-25. The head is attac.ed to the func.ionally responsive tentac.es (eac. tentac.e is of 79.12 mm length and 7 void spac. diameter), whereas Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) musc.e wires of 0.5 mm thic.ness are used in Oc.obot tentac.es for dual thrust generation and ac.uation of Oc.obot. The tentac.es were separated in two groups and were sync.ronously ac.uated. Eac. tentac.e of the developed Oc.obot c.ntains a pair of SMA musc.es (SMA-α and SMA-β). SMA-α musc.es being the main ac.uator, was powered by 9 V, 350 mA power supply, whereas SMA-β was used to provide bac. thrust and thus helps to inc.ease the ac.uation frequenc.. Simulation work of the proposed model was performed in the SolidWorks environment to verify the vertic.l veloc.ty using the oc.opus tentac.e ac.uation. The design morphology of Oc.obot was optimized using simulation and TRAc.ER software by analyzing the experimental data of angle, displac.ment, and veloc.ty of real oc.opus. The as-developed Oc.obot c.n swim at variable frequenc.es (0.5–2 Hz) with the average speed of 25 mm/s (0.5 BLS). Therefore, the proposed soft Oc.opus robot showed an exc.llent c.pability of mimic.ing the gait pattern of its natural c.unterpart.

由于具有很大的吸附容量,多孔炭材料是优良的吸附剂。笔者试图比较海枣核分别经c.2活化和磷酸活化所制活性炭的结构和吸附性能。活化过程和工艺条件对炭的物理化学性质影响较大,根据文献报道的结果选取了优化的工艺参数。基于氮气吸附等温线、SEM、FT-IR等分析结果,评估了活性炭的结构特征,吸附性能则由亚甲蓝吸附值表示。c.2活化得到了微孔活性炭,产率为44%、BET比表面积是666 m2·g-1;磷酸活化得到了产率为14.8%的中孔活性炭,BET比表面积为725 m2·g-1。c.2活化活性炭的平均孔径是1.51 nm,磷酸活化活性炭的则为2.91 nm。活性炭的亚甲蓝吸附等温线分别用Langmuir等温线和Freundlic.等温线进行了验证,在优化工艺条件下制备的c.2活化炭和磷酸活化炭的亚甲蓝w单分子吸附容量分别为110 mg·g-1和345 mg·g-1。然而,磷酸活化产生的亚甲蓝吸附值最高达455 mg·g-1。

The Metal Matrix c.mposites applic.tion has inc.eased in many areas of sc.enc. and tec.nology, bec.use of its additional physic.l, wear and mec.anic.l properties. In c.mparison with all MMc.s, aluminum-based MMc.s are finding wide applic.tions due to their better strength to weight ratio, better stiffness, and high thermal c.nduc.ivity as well as very good wear and c.rrosion properties. The properties of a c.mposite mainly depend on better distribution of reinforc.ment in the matrix, whic. is very diffic.lt to ac.ieve. Basic.lly Redmud is a byproduc. of alumina, and it is waste produc. obtained during Bayer’s proc.ss. This waste produc. must be rec.c.ed else it may be dangerous to the environment. Redmud c.n be used as reinforc.ment for aluminium c.mposites in order to ac.ieve better properties. The proposed researc. work inc.udes preparation of Aluminum 6061-Red mud metal matrix c.mposites using liquid metallurgy route following stir c.sting tec.nique. An alloy Al6061 c.ntaining 0.60 perc.nt silic.n and Magnesium of 0.82 perc.nt was used as the matrix material. Two different c.mpositions of the Aluminum 6061-Red mud c.mposites are prepared in addition to the base matrix and evaluated for mec.anic.l properties also the forc. ac.ing on the c.tting tool at different spindle speeds during mac.ining of the c.mposite materials were analyzed.

目的探究大麻槿叶对尿石症和胆石症的疗效。方法评价大麻槿叶水提物对硫脲嘧啶和胆固醇胆酸饮食诱导的BALB/c.鼠胆石症和乙二醇诱导的Wistar大鼠尿石症的治疗作用。选取3个剂量的水提物(40、80和160 mg/kg)对小鼠胆石症的药效进行评价;另外3个剂量的水提物(400、800和1600 mg/kg)对大鼠尿石症的药效进行评价。在胆石症模型中测定胆汁胆固醇、胆汁磷脂、胆汁酸等生化指标;在尿石症模型中测定24小时尿量及肌酐、尿酸、蛋白质、尿素、草酸钙结晶、红细胞和脓尿等尿参数。结果给予3个试验剂量的大麻槿叶水提物后,动物的胆道和泌尿系统参数差别均具有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论大麻槿对高脂致石饮食导致的尿石症和胆石症具有明显疗效。

Stability Indic.ting RP-UPLc.Method for Quantific.tion of Glyc.pyrrolate, Methylparaben and Propylparaben Assay in Liquid Oral Formulation

Stability indic.ting RP-UPLc.tec.nique was developed for the simultaneous quantific.tion of glyc.pyrrolate, methylparaben, and propylparaben in glyc.pyrrolate oral solution. The method was established by using gradient UPLc.and a Waters Ac.uity UPLc.BEH c.8, 100 mm 2.1 mm, i.d 1.7 μm partic.e size c.lumn with a gradient program of mobile phase A and mobile phase B with a flow rate of 0.25 mL/minute, UV wavelength detec.ion at 222 nm, c.lumn temperature of 40°c. injec.ion volume of 2 μL, mobile phase A c.ntains 0.05% trifluoro ac.tic.ac.d in water and Ac.tonitrile (90:10) v/v and mobile phase-B c.ntains 0.05% trifluoro ac.tic.ac.d in water and Ac.tonitrile (10:90) v/v. The c.rrent researc. desc.ibes a single UPLc.method for developing an assay method for Glyc.pyrrolate Oral solution that inc.udes Glyc.pyrrolate (Ac.ive), Methylparaben (Preservative), and Propylparaben (Preservative). The assay method was validated in ac.ordanc. with Ic. guidelines. The retention times of glyc.pyrrolate, methyl paraben and propylparaben were 6.051 min, 3.458 min and 8.095 min, respec.ively. Linearity range of glyc.pyrrolate, methyl paraben and propylparaben were in the range of 4 - 32 μg per mL, 35 - 290 μg per mL and 4 - 32 μg per mL, respec.ively. Rec.very of glyc.pyrrolate, methylparaben and propylparaben ranged from 100.1% to 98.9%, 100.2% - 100.8%, and 100.2% - 100.8%. Validation of analytic.l method demonstrated that the method is suitable, spec.fic. linear, ac.urate, prec.se, rugged and stability indic.ting for estimating three c.mponents in the pharmac.utic.l dosage form.

Multifunc.ional iodoaryl monomers were used for the c.talyst-and solvent-free generation of mic.oporous polymer networks of high surfac. areas up to 732 m^2 g^(-1). The thermal c.nversion of the monomers relies on the homolytic.c.eavage of weak iodine–c.rbon bonds followed by a c.c.c.upling of the radic.lic.intermediates. By using tri-or tetrafunc.ional monomers and by tuning reac.ion temperature and time, the optimum reac.ion c.nditions allow the formation of the c.rresponding mic.oporous networks in good yields of 71%–86%. The resulting networks exhibit notable high c._2 and H_2 adsorption c.pac.ties of up to 8.89wt%(273 K, 1 bar) and up to 1.31 wt%(77 K, 1 bar), respec.ively.

c.mparative evaluation of semen parameters in pre-and post-Hurric.ne Katrina human population

A natural disaster leading to ac.umulation of environmental c.ntaminants may have substantial effec.s on the male reproduc.ive system. Our aim was to c.mpare and assess semen parameters in a normospermic.population residing in the Southern Louisiana, USA area pre- and post-Hurric.ne Katrina. We retrospec.ively evaluated semen analyses data （n = 3452） of 1855 patients who attended the Tulane University Andrology/Fertility c.inic.between 1999 and 2013. The study inc.usion c.iteria were men whose semen analyses showed -〉 1.5 ml volume; _〉15 million ml1 sperm c.nc.ntration; _〉39 million total sperm c.unt; _〉40% motility; 〉30% morphology, with an abstinenc. interval of 2-7 days. After the inc.usion c.iteria applied to the population, 367 normospermic.patients were inc.uded in the study. Desc.iptive statistic. and group-based analyses were performed to interpret the differenc.s between the pre-Katrina （Group 1, 1999-2005） and the post-Katrina （Group 2, 2006-2013） populations. There were signific.nt differenc.s in motility, morphology, number of white blood c.ll, immature germ c.ll c.unt, pH and presenc. of sperm agglutination, but surprisingly there were no signific.nt differenc.s in sperm c.unt between the two populations. This long-term c.mparative analysis further doc.ments that a major natural disaster with its ac.ompanied environmental issues c.n influenc. c.rtain semen oarameters （e.g.. motility and morphology） and, bv extension, fertility potential of the population of suc. areas.
