Hydrogen can relieve tissue-damaging oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis. Injection of hydrogen-rich saline is an effective method for transporting molecular hydrogen. We hypothesized that hydrogen-rich saline would promote the repair of spinal cord injury induced by Allen＇s method in rats. At 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 and 24 hours after injury, then once daily for 2 weeks, 0.25 mL/kg hydrogen-rich saline was infused into the subarachnoid space through a catheter. Results at 24 hours, 48 hours, 1 week and 2 weeks after injury showed that hydrogen-rich saline markedly reduced cell death, inflammatory cell infiltration, serum malondialdehyde content, and caspa se-3 immunoreactivity, elevated serum superoxide dismutase activity and calcitonin gene-related peptide immunoreactivity, and improved motor function in the hindlimb. The present study confirms that hydrogen-rich saline injected within 2 weeks of injury effectively contributes to the repair of spinal cord injury in the acute stage.

A novel numerical piston-type wave-maker toolbox for the OpenFOAM is developed and demonstrated in this paper. This toolbox is implemented in C++ for improving the solutions of nonlinear wave problems in the field of hydrodynamics. As a toolbox that generates waves using the piston-type method only, it contains several frequently used functions, including the generation and the absorption of waves of various forms, an active absorption system and the porous media flow. Furthermore, to illustrate the operability of the toolbox, some validations and applications are presented, including the regular waves, the irregular waves, and the solitary waves. In each case, a satisfactory agreement is obtained in comparison with the published experimental or theoretical results,so this toolbox may be applied with a considerable confidence.

The dependence on outer light source strongly hinders clinical applications of photodynamic therapy(PDT)to the deep-seated ***,the majority of documented PDT systems that function without the external light source rely on either the chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer(CRET)or fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)mechanism,which decreases the energy transfer efficiency and reproducibility of ***,we developed a novel single-molecule triplet photosensitizer(iodoBodipy(IBDP)-L)that can be chemiexcited to triplet excited state to generate reactive oxygen species instead of outer light *** direct bonding of phthalhydrazid moiety to iodoBodipy fluorophore evoked valid intramolecular energy transfer(IET),and once phthalhydrazid part is activated by hydrogen peroxide,the released reaction energy could excite the iodoBodipy-phthalhydrazid conjugate as a *** product IBDP-L-COOH showed high triplet state quantum yield(ΦT=65%)and large spin-orbit coupling.A large amount of reactive oxygen species(ROS)was produced in MCF-7 cells,thus inhibiting the cell growth both in vitro and in vivo after IBDP-L was formulated into nanoparticles(NPs)via *** believe that the synthesized IodoBodipy-phthalhydrazid conjugate based on the IET mechanism will open a new door in the molecular design of efficient triplet photosensitizers for treating deeply seated tumors in the future.

Histone lysine methylation plays an important role in heterochromatin formation and reprogramming of gene expression. SET-domain-containing proteins are shown to have histone lysine methyltransferase activities. A large number of SET-domain genes are identified in plant genomes. The function of most SET-domain genes is not known. In this work, we studied the 12 rice （Oryza sativa） homologs of Su（var）3-9, the histone H3 lysine 9 （H3K9） methyltransferase identified in Drosophila. Several rice SUVHs （i.e. SDG714, SDG727, and SDG710） were found to have an antagonistic func- tion to the histone H3K9 demethylase JMJ706, as down-regulation of these genes could partially complement the jmj706 phenotype and reduced histone H3K9 methylation. Down-regulation of a rice Su（var）3-9 homolog （SUVH）, namely SDG728, decreased H3K9 methylation and altered seed morphology. Overexpression of the gene increased H3K9 methylation. SDG728 and other SUVH genes were found to be involved in the repression of retrotransposons such as Tos17 and a Tyl-copia element. Analysis of histone methylation suggested that SDG728-mediated H3K9 methylation may play an important role in retrotransposon repression.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) operate in complex and harshenvironments;thus, node faults are inevitable. Therefore, fault diagnosis ofthe WSNs node is essential. Affected by the harsh working environment ofWSNs and wireless data transmission, the data collected by WSNs containnoisy data, leading to unreliable data among the data features extracted duringfault diagnosis. To reduce the influence of unreliable data features on faultdiagnosis accuracy, this paper proposes a belief rule base (BRB) with a selfadaptivequality factor (BRB-SAQF) fault diagnosis model. First, the datafeatures required for WSN node fault diagnosis are extracted. Second, thequality factors of input attributes are introduced and calculated. Third, themodel inference process with an attribute quality factor is designed. Fourth,the projection covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy (P-CMA-ES)algorithm is used to optimize the model’s initial parameters. Finally, the effectivenessof the proposed model is verified by comparing the commonly usedfault diagnosis methods for WSN nodes with the BRB method consideringstatic attribute reliability (BRB-Sr). The experimental results show that BRBSAQFcan reduce the influence of unreliable data features. The self-adaptivequality factor calculation method is more reasonable and accurate than thestatic attribute reliability method.

In this study,novel yellow-emitting fluorophosphate NaCa_(3)Bi(PO_(4))_(3)F phosphors doped with different concentrations of Dy^(3+)ions were first obtained via high-temperature solid-state *** crystal structure,phase purity,particle morphology,photoluminescence(PL)properties,thermal stability,and luminescence decay curves of the resulting phosphors were then characterized in *** the excitation of 349 nm,the three dominant peaks of the NaCa_(3)Bi(PO_(4))_(3)F:Dy^(3+)are centered at 480 nm(^(4)F_(9/2)-^(6)H_(15/2)),577 nm(^(4)F_(9/2)-^(6)H_(13/2)),and 662 nm(^(4)F_(9/2)-^(6)H_(11/2)).The optimal doping concentration of Dy^(3+)ions in the NaCa_(3)Bi(PO_(4))_(3)F:xDy^(3+)phosphors is x=5 mol%.The phosphors show excellent thermal stability with high activation energy(Ea=0.32 eV).Eventually,the synthesized white lightemitting diode(w-LED)demonstrates the Commission International de L’Eclairage(CIE)chromaticity coordinates of(0.341,0.334),a good correlated color temperature(CCT)of 5083 K,and a high color rendering index(Ra)of *** its potential as yellow-emitting phosphors,the feasibility of the fabricated apatite-type NaCa_(3)Bi(PO_(4))_(3)F:Dy^(3+)fluorophosphate phosphors was confirmed for wLEDs.

OBJECTIVE： To explore the function of Tangnai- kang （TNK） in the prevention and treatment of re- nal interstitial fibrosis through transdifferentiation of the human renal tubular epithelial cell line HK-2 induced bytransforming growth factor-β1 （TGF-β1）. METHODS： HK-2 cells cultured in dulbecco＇s modi- fied eagle medium/F12 （1：1） with 10% fetal calf se- rum were divided into six groups： blank control group, TGF-β1 group （TGF-β1 10 ng/mL）, serum con- trol group （TGF-β1 10 ng/mL ＋ 10% serum）, treat- ment group 1 （TGF-β1 10 ng/mL ＋ 5% TNK serum）, treatment group 2 （TGF-β1 10 ng/mL＋10% TNK se-rum）, and treatment group 3 （TGF-β1 10 ng/mL＋ 20% TNK serum）. Cell proliferation was detected by 4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyltetrazoliu m bromide assay. Expression of a-smooth muscle ac- tin （a-SMA） and E-cadherin were observed by im- munohistochemical assay. The contents of collagen Ⅰ （Col Ⅰ）, collagen Ⅲ（ColⅢ）, and fibronectin （FN） in the culture medium supernatant were detected by ELISA. RESULTS： E-cadherin was expressed and α-SMA was not expressed in normal HK-2 cells. In HK-2 cells cultured with TGF-β1, α-SMA expression signifi- cantly increased, HK-2 cells significantly proliferat- ed, and secretion of Col Ⅰ, Col Ⅲ, and FN significantly increased compared with the blank control group （all P〈0.05）. In the HK-2 cells cultured with TGF-β1 and TNK serum, the expression of α-SMA signifi- cantly decreased, the expression of E-cadherin sig- nificantly increased, and the cell proliferation and the secretion of Col Ⅰ, Col Ⅲ and FN were significant- ly inhibited compared with the TGF-β1 group （all P〈 0.05. CONCLUSION： TNK can inhibit cell proliferation and reduce secretion of Col Ⅰ, Col Ⅲ, and *** in- dicates that TNK can inhibit transdifferentiation of human renal tubular epithelial cells induced by TGF-β1, with the effect of preventing and treating renal interstitial fibrosis.

Hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)fillers are incorporated into poly(vinyl butyral)(PVB)coatings to improve the corrosion protection performance of *** has been revealed that the h-BN fillers exhibit an excellent dispersiblility in PVB coating due to the non-covalent interactions between h-BN fillers and the PVB *** characterization reveals that the corrosion resistance of the BN-reinforced PVB(BN-P)coating is 5-6 orders of magnitude higher than that of the pristine PVB *** and metallography show that the copper substrate beneath the BN-P coating does not suffer from corrosion after immersion for 2 months,indicating that the BN-P coating can provide a long-term protective barrier for the underlying copper *** 0-0.25 g h-BN fillers in 2.0 g PVB,the corrosion protection performance increases with increasing the loading of h-BN *** scratch test results suggest that h-BN fillers do not accelerate copper corrosion when the BN-P coating is damaged.
