Social determinants of health(SDOH)affect quality of *** investigated SDOH impacts on self-perceived resilience among people with adult congenital heart disease(ACHD).Secondary analysis of data from two com-plementary studies:a survey study conducted may 2021–June 2022 and a qualitative study conducted June 2020–August *** was assessed through CD-RISC10 score(range 0–40,higher scores reﬂect greater self-perceived resilience)and interview *** and SDOH(education,employment,living situa-tion,monetary stability,ﬁnancial dependency,area deprivation index)data were collected by healthcare record review and *** used linear regression with robust standard errors to analyze survey data and performed a thematic analysis of interview *** participants(N=127)mean age was 42±14 years;51%were female,87%*** was moderate(75%)or complex(25%);41%functional class C or ***(mean 30±7)varied by monetary stability:compared to people with difﬁculty paying bills,resilience was 15.0 points higher(95%CI:6.9–23.1,pmoney and 14.2 points higher(95%CI:5.9–22.4,p=0.001)for those reporting just enough *** participants’(N=25)mean age was 32 years(range 22–44);52%were female,72%*** was moderate(56%)or complex(44%);76%functional class C or *** discussed factors affecting resilience aligned with each of the major SDOH,prominently,economic stability and healthcare access and *** stability may be important for supporting self-perceived resi-lience in *** knowledge can inform the development of resilience interventions for this population.

INTRODUCTION The United Nations(UN)Decade of Healthy Ageing(2021–2030),coordinated by the World Health Organization(WHO),1 is a global collaborative initiative aimed at improving the lives of older people,their families and the communities.23 The Action Areas 3(ie,‘deliver person-centred,integrated care and primary health services responsive to older people’)and 4(ie,‘provide access to long-term care(LTC)for older people who need it’)of the Decade’s work programme focus on reorienting health and care systems to promote‘ageing in place’and the delivery of personalised interventions in a seamless continuum of care.

We collected soil samples from two representative sites at Aatmile of Khagarachari hill district in Chittagong Hill Tracts. One of the sites was under shifting cultivation and the other an adjacent 13-year old teak plantation. Both sites were in the same physiographic condition and same aspect with parable soil type, which enabled us to measure the effects of shifting cultivation on soil micro-flora. We studied soil phys-ico-chemical properties and the biochemical and biological properties of soil microbes. moisture and organic matter content as well as fungi and bacterial populations, both in surface and subsurface soils, were signifi-cantly （p≤0.001） lower in shifting cultivated soils compared to soils not under shifting cultivation, i.e. the teak plantation site. The most abundant bacteria in surface （0-10 cm） and sub-surface （10-20 cm） soils under shifting cultivation were Pseudomonas diminuta and Shigella, respec-tively, while in corresponding soil layers of teak plantation, predominant microbes were Bacillus firmus （0-10 cm） and Xanthomonas （10-20 cm）. The microbial population differences cannot be explained by soil texture differences because of the textural similarity in soils from the two sites but could be related to the significantly lower moisture and organic mat-ter contents in soils under shifting cultivation.

This study investigates the effect of{10-12}deformation twins on the continuous precipitation behavior of an extruded mg-8.0Al-0.5Zn-0.2mn(AZ80)alloy during *** extruded AZ80 alloy is compressed along the transverse direction to introduce{10-12}twins,followed by an aging treatment at 300℃.The extruded material exhibits a twin-free microstructure with low internal strain energy,whereas the pre-twinned material possesses abundant{10-12}twins and has high internal strain *** aging results reveal that the peak-aging time of the pre-twinned material(1 h)is one-eighth of that of the extruded material(8 h).Although mg_(17)Al_(12)continuous precipitates(CPs)are observed in both the peak-aged materials,these CPs are much smaller and more densely distributed in the pre-twinned material despite the significantly shorter aging *** CPs size in the peak-aged materials increases in the following order:twinned region in the pre-twinned material(0.47μm)matrix region in the pre-twinned material(1.71μm)matrix region in the extruded material(2.55μm).moreover,the CPs number density in the twinned region of the pre-twinned material is approximately 11 times higher than that in the matrix region of the extruded *** peak-aged pre-twinned material exhibits significantly higher tensile strength and ductility than the peak-aged extruded *** results demonstrate that the formation of{10-12}twins in the extruded AZ80 alloy substantially accelerates the static precipitation of CPs during aging at 300℃and improves the tensile properties of the peak-aged material.

The science and management of terrestrial ecosystems require accurate,high-resolution mapping of surface *** produced a global,30-m-resolution inland surface water dataset with an automated algorithm using Landsat-based surface reflectance estimates,multispectral water and vegetation indices,terrain metrics,and prior coarse-resolution water *** dataset identified 3,650,723 km2 of inland water globally–nearly three quarters of which was located in North America(40.65%)and Asia(32.77%),followed by Europe(9.64%),Africa(8.47%),South America(6.91%),and Oceania(1.57%).Boreal forests contained the largest portion of terrestrial surface water(25.03%of the global total),followed by the nominal‘inland water’biome(16.36%),tundra(15.67%),and temperate broadleaf and mixed forests(13.91%).Agreement with respect to the moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer water mask and Landsat-based national land-cover datasets was very high,with commission errorsmission errorsmpounded by differences in image acquisition date relative to reference *** Global Land Cover Facility(GLCF)inland surface water dataset is available for open access at the GLCF website(http://***).

Two intermetallic compounds of Ti-50at.%Al and Ti-48at.%Al-2at.%Cr were prepared with a mechanical alloying and pulse discharge sintering process. The as-sintered material shows a microstructure of equiaxed gamma grain with sub-micron size. Heat treatments in Vacuum at different temperatures up to 1573 K were conducted on the sintered materials. The microstructure of the material coarsened considerably after heat treatment at temperatures higher than 1523 K. The mechanical properties of the as-sintered and the heat treated materials were measured at temperatures up to 973 K, with four-point bending tests. Experimental results indicate that the addition of Cr increases the fracture strength of the intermetallic compound at room temperature and at elevated temperatures as well. The bending fracture strength increases with increasing testing temperature up to about 873 K and a decrease following up. Both fracture strength and fracture strain of the material were found to be improved by heat treatment. (Edited author abstract) 10 Refs.

Surveillance of Chikungunya virus activity in some North-eastern states of India

Objective: To detect the prevalence pattern of Chikungunya virus in three states of Northeast India. methods: A total of 1 510 samples were collected from different private and government hospitals of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and meghalaya. Serum was tested for the presence of Igm antibodies against Chikungunya virus followed by RT-PCR for amplification of Chikungunya E1 gene region using specific primers. Results: Overall, 11.83%(172/1 454) clinical samples were positive by mAC-ELISA and/or RT-PCR assay. Asymptomatic infection was seen in 17.86%. males were more affected than females and age group 16-30 years was mostly affected. Fever(100.00%) was the primary symptom followed by headache(72.03%) and arthralgia(41.53%). Only 118 Chikungunya positive cases could be traced, of which 25.42% complained about sequelae of infection. In entomological investigation, Aedes aegypti was more predominant(92.10%) than Aedes albopictus(7.90%). No mosquito pools could be incriminated for Chikungunya virus. Conclusions: In this study, Chikungunya was observed to be prevalent in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and meghalaya. Though Chikungunya is a selflimiting infection, increasing morbidity by CHIKV infection is affecting social and economic status of individual. Thus, a community empowerment to effectively control mosquito population by employing different mosquito control measures along with personal protection is mandatory to tackle future outbreak of the disease.

We developed a global,30-m resolution dataset of percent tree cover by rescaling the 250-m mOderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(mODIS)Vegetation Continuous Fields(VCF)Tree Cover layer using circa-2000 and 2005 Landsat images,incorporating the mODIS Cropland Layer to improve accuracy in agricultural *** Landsat-based estimates maintained consistency with the mODIS VCF in both epochs(RmSE=8.6%in 2000 and 11.9%in 2005),but showed improved accuracy in agricultural areas and increased discrimination of small forest *** lidar measurements,the Landsat-based estimates exhibited accuracy slightly less than that of the mODIS VCF(RmSE=16.8%for mODIS-based vs.17.4%for Landsat-based estimates),but RmSE of Landsat estimates was 3.3 percentage points lower than that of the mODIS data in an agricultural *** Landsat data retained the saturation artifact of the mODIS VCF at greater than or equal to 80%tree cover but showed greater potential for removal of errors through calibration to lidar,with post-calibration RmSE of 9.4%compared to 13.5%in mODIS *** for free download at the Global Land Cover Facility(GLCF)website(***),the 30-m resolution GLCF tree cover dataset is the highest-resolution multi=temporal depiction of Earth’s tree cover available to the Earth science community.
