In this study, freeze-dried water extract from the leaves of Myristica fragrans （Houtt.） was tested for mutagenic and antimutagenic potentials using the allium cepa assay. Freeze-dried water extract alone and its combination with cyclophosphamide （CP）（50 mg/kg） were separately dissolved in tap water at 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 mg/kg. Onions （A. cepa） were suspended in the solutions and controls for 48 h in the dark. Root tips were prepared for microscopic evaluation. 2,2-Diphenyl-l-picrylhydrazyl （DPPH） free radicals＇ scavenging power of the extract was tested using butylated hydroxyanisole （BHA） and butylated hydroxytoluene （BHT） as standards. Water extract of Myristica fragrans scavenged free radicals better than BHA, but worse than BHT. The extract alone, as well as in combination with CP suppressed cell division, and induced chromosomal aberrations that were insignificantly different from the negative control （P≤0.05）. However, cytotoxic and mutagenic actions of CP were considerably suppressed. The observed effects on cell division and chromosomes of A. cepa may be principally connected to the antioxidant properties of the extract. The obtained results suggest mitodepressive and antimutagenic potentials of water extract of the leaves of M. fragrans as desirable properties of a promising anticancer agent.

Vernalization is necessary for winter wheat to ***,it is unclear whether vernalization is also required for spring wheat,which is frequently sown in fall,and what molecular mechanisms underlie the vernalization response in wheat *** this study,we examined the molecular mechanisms that regulate vernalization response in winter and spring wheat *** this purpose,we determined how major vernalization genes(VRN1,VRN2,and VRN3)respond to vernalization in these varieties and whether modifications to histones play a role in changes in gene *** also identified genes that are differentially regulated in response to vernalization in winter and spring wheat *** found that in winter wheat,but not in spring wheat,VRN1 expression decreases when returned to warm temperature following *** finding may be associated with differences between spring and winter wheat in the levels of tri-methylation of lysine 27 on histone H3(H3K27me3)and tri-methylation of lysine 4 on histone H3(H3K4me3)at the VRN1 *** of winter wheat transcriptomes before and after vernalization revealed that vernalization influences the expression of several genes,including those involved in leucine catabolism,cysteine biosynthesis,and flavonoid *** findings provide new candidates for further study on the mechanism of vernalization regulation in wheat.

The electrochemical behavior of N,N-diethyl-p-nitroso aniline was carried out using SWV （square wave voltammetric） at HMDE. A well defined reduction peak was observed at （-0.214） volt versus the reference electrode （Ag/AgC1/sat. KCI）, calibration curve was constructed in phosphate buffer （pH = 7.0）, the relationship is linear within the concentration range 1.283 × 10.5 M - 3.66 × 10.5 M with the correlation （R = 0.9923）. The serial addition ofCPM （chlorpheniramine maleate） leads to the decrease in the reduction current peak （Ip）, quantitatively, the plot of alp （Ip - Ip） where, Ip： Peak current of N, N-diethyl-p-nitroso aniline alone, lp： peak current of N,N-diethyl-p-nitroso aniline in the presence of CPM, versus concentration is linear within the concentration range 0.984 × 10-6 M - 9.756 × 10-6 M, the correlation coefficient was 0.9954. The method was successfully applied to determine CPM in different types of pharmaceutical formulations, and compared with standard method from British Pharmacopeia [1].

OBJECTIVE： The use of complementary and alternative medicine（CAM） is relatively common among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus（T2DM） around the world. Like many other countries, Saudi Arabia has a high incidence of T2DM, and incorporates the use of CAM in its treatment. This study explores the knowledge, attitude and practice（KAP） of CAM therapies among patients with T2DM and explores the relationships between sociodemographics and the KAP of CAM modalities. METHODS： This is a hospital-based, observational, cross-sectional study that selected 302 outpatients with T2DM, from Diabetic Center of King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Hospital, in Riyadh city, in May 2014. Patients were interviewed using a predesigned questionnaire. RESULTS： The mean age of patients was（51.6 ± 10.6） years and 43.4% of them were males. The prevalence of CAM practices was 30.5%; 30.39% of them used herbs, 20.58% used wet cupping and 17.64% used nutritional supplements and other therapies. The factors found to predict the use of CAM therapies among patients with T2DM were： age above 51 years, unemployment and the participants’ knowledge about the effectiveness of CAM products. CONCLUSION： This preliminary study estimated the prevalence of CAM use, revealed positive attitude towards CAM and found three significant predictors of CAM use among patients with T2DM, which is consistent with regional data. A community-based research with a larger sample that targets T2DM population is needed in Saudi Arabia.

The aim of the current research was to clone and to characterize the partial 66 kDa streptavidin-binding peptide(SBP)found in the germinated embryos of Pisum sativum *** pea(*** ***)embryos possess prominent 66 kDa SBPs that gradually disappeared after few hours of germination in germinated embryos,but not in the *** total RNA was isolated from embryos of *** but could not be isolated from the *** partial nucleotides sequences of 66 kDa SBPs of embryonic stalk(*** ***)were cloned and identified using pMOSBlue vector.66 kDa(SBP)gene from the embryos of *** *** possesses 327 bp having an open reading frame(ORF)region in a part of the gene that encoded for 108 amino *** showed similarity among 66 kDa SBPs *** ***,with *** seed biotinylated protein(SBP65)and *** sbp65a mRNA with DNA distance matrix between 0.0094 to ***-TOF mass spectrometry analysis of 66 kDa(SBP)proteins showed it had similar short peptides to 19 proteins found in different organisms,especially Convicilin precursor,and the seed biotinylated protein in *** alignment results of both nucleotide sequences and amino acid residues either from cloning or MalDI-TOF-MS showed differences with related species,especially *** mRNA was found in the cotyledons during seeds germination,which means no metabolic activities and this part may act only as food reservoirs for growing newly embryos.

Text extraction from images using the traditional techniques of image collecting,and pattern recognition using machine learning consume time due to the amount of extracted features from the *** Neural Networks introduce effective solutions to extract text features from images using a few techniques and the ability to train large datasets of images with significant *** study proposes using Dual Maxpooling and concatenating convolution Neural Networks(CNN)layers with the activation functions Relu and the Optimized Leaky Relu(OLRelu).The proposed method works by dividing the word image into slices that contain *** pass them to deep learning layers to extract feature maps and reform the predicted *** Short Memory(BiLSTM)layers extractmore compelling features and link the time sequence fromforward and backward directions during the training *** Connectionist Temporal Classification(CTC)function calcifies the training and validation loss *** addition to decoding the extracted feature to reform characters again and linking them according to their time *** proposed model performance is evaluated using training and validation loss errors on the Mjsynth and Integrated Argument Mining Tasks(IAM)*** result of IAM was 2.09%for the average loss errors with the proposed dualMaxpooling and *** the Mjsynth dataset,the best validation loss rate shrunk to 2.2%by applying concatenating CNN layers,and Relu.

After harvest,cassava(Manihot esculenta Crantz)storage roots undergo rapid postharvest physiological deterioration,producing blue-brown discoloration in the vasculature due to the production of polyphenolics(mainly quinonesand coumarins)by enzymes such as polyphenol oxidase(PPO).Here,we report the application of hen egg-white lysozyme(HEWL),a natural PPO inhibitor,in transgenic cassava to repress the symptoms of postharvest physiological *** HEWL-expressing transgenic plants had lower levels of the two main cassava coumarins tested,scopoletin and scopolin,compared with wild ***-expressing cassava also showed increased tolerance of oxidative ***,the lysozyme-PPO system proved to be functional in plants for repressing PPO-mediated commercial product browning.

The harmful effects of chemical-based termiticides and the increased incidence of termite resistance have resulted in the need for safer and more effective ***,the screening of antitermiticidal activity of naturally-occurring products could possibly hamper an alternative means in termite control *** aims of this study were to determine the toxicity and repellency of ***,***,*** and *** crude extracts against two subterranean termites,*** and *** were conducted by applying varying concentrations of the plant extracts(10,000 ppm,5000 ppm and 500 ppm)on both termite species under laboratory *** extracts exhibited a significant antitermiticidal activity in time-and concentration-dependent manners after 14 days of *** highest mortality of *** and *** were noted in all methanolic extracts of ***,***,***,*** at 10,000 *** repellent activity was also noted in the choice bioassay when both termites were treated with all methanolic extracts at 10,000 ppm.

Unique double salient structure of Permanent Magnet Flux Switching Machines(PMFSM)with both Concentrated Armature inding(CAW)and Permanent Magnet(PM)on stator attract researcher's interest for high speed brushless application when high torque density(T den)and power density(P den)are the primal ***,despite of stator leakage flux,high rare-earth PM usage,PMFSM is subjected to slot effects due to presence of both PM and CAW in stator and partial saturation due to double salient structure which generates cogging torque(T cog),torque ripples(Trip)and lower average torque(T avg).To overcomne aforesaid demerits,this paper presents Partitioned PM(PPM)Consequent Pole Flux Switching Machine(PPM-CPFSM)with flux barriers to enhance flux mnodulation,curtail PM usage and diminish stator leakage flux which reduces slotting effects and partial saturation to ultimately reduces T cog and Trip In comparison with the existing state of the art,proposed PPM-CPFSM reduces 46.5390 of the total PM volumne and offer Tavg higher up to 88.8%,suppress Trip naximun up to 24.8%,diminish Tcog up to 22.74%and offer 2.45 times Tden and ***,torque characteristics of proposed PPM-CPFSM is investigated utilizing space harmonics injection *** cosine,inverse cosine with 3rd harmonics and rotor pole shaping techniques i.e.,ecce ntric circle,chanfering and *** electromagnetic perfornance analysis reveals that harmonics injection suppressed Tcog maximun up to 83.5%,Trip up to 40.72%at the cost of 4.71%***,rotor mnechanical stress analysis is utilized for rotor withstand capability and 3D-FEA based Coupled Elctromagnetic Thermal Analysis(CETA)for thermal behavior of the developed PPM *** reveals that open space along PPM act as cooling duct that inprove heat dissipation.
