Interfacial solar-driven evaporation technique is an environmental friendly and cost-effective advanced approach for water purification using solar *** energy sources are effectively utilized using the structural design of evaporators and functional *** this work,we have fabricated a solar-driven interfacial evaporation device with Banana Pseudo Stem(BPS)and a photothermal layer made up of PVA PDMS Carbon(PPC)is attached to *** evaporation rate of 2.03 kg m^(−2) h^(−1) is achieved by the system under 1 sun *** localization on interfacial surface,reflectance of photothermal layer,presence of micro-fluidic channels in BPS were studied using IR imaging,UV-DRS and SEM characterization techniques,*** localization of interfacial temperature around 53℃ and very low reflectance of photothermal layer substantiates high photothermal conversion efficiency of the *** complete purification of water containing high concentration of Rhodamine-B dye using BPS is a novel and simple approach for water *** is an eco-friendly,cost-efficient novel approach in fabrication of interfacial solar-driven evaporation system with high evaporation rate for purification of water containing high concentration of organic dye.

This paper proposes the optimum controller for shunt active filter(SAF)to mitigate the harmonics and maintain the power quality in the distribution *** consists of shunt active filter,Voltage Source Inverter(VSI),series inductor and DC bus and nonlinear *** proposed hybrid approach is a combination of Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)and Artificial Neural Network(ANN)termed as *** PI controller gain parameters of kp and ki are optimized with the help of *** PSOANN improves the accuracy of tuning the gain parameters under steady and dynamic load conditions;thereby it reduces the values of THD within the prescribed limits of IEEE *** PSO optimizes the dataset of terminal voltage and DC voltage present in shunt active filter for different load *** optimized dataset acts as the input for the controller to predict the optimal gain with minimal error and to generate the optimized control signal for the *** proposed methodology is modelled and simulated with the help of MATLAB/Simulink platform and illustrated the few test cases considered for exhibiting the performance of proposed hybrid *** experimental results are measured with developed laboratory prototype and compared with the simulation results to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control methodology.

This work focused on the fabrication of silicon oxycarbide ceramic(SiOC)foams as well as dense compacts using poly(hydridomethylsiloxane)(PHMS)as a polymer *** room-temperature cross-linking of PHMS was achieved by the addition of 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane(DABCO)with the release of hydrogen gas as a *** resulted in self-blowing of the polymer precursor at room temperature and thereby offered the possibility of producing SiOC foams without the need of any external blowing *** also reported the fabrication of crack-free silicon oxycarbide compacts by cold compaction and pyrolysis route using polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as a processing ***-shaped pellets were pyrolysed at 1300℃in argon atmosphere with a ceramic yield of approximately 85%.Increased resistance to phase separation and crystallization up to 1400℃was attributed to the presence of large volume fraction of free carbon in the material which was confirmed by Raman spectroscopy.

Analysis of the delayed approach to the management of infected pancreatic necrosis

AIM: To analyze outcomes of delayed single-stage necrosectomy after early conservative management of patients with infected pancreatic necrosis (IPN) associated with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). METHODS: Between January 1998 and December 2009, data from patients with SAP who developed IPN and were managed by pancreatic necrosectomy were analyzed. RESULTS: Fifty-nine of 61 pancreatic necrosectomies were performed by open surgery and 2 laparoscopically. In 55 patients, single-stage necrosectomy could be performed (90.2%). Patients underwent surgery at a median of 29 d (range 13-46 d) after diagnosis of acute pancreatitis. Sepsis and multiple organ failure accounted for the 9.8% mortality rate. Pancreatic fistulae (50.8%) predominantly accounted for the morbidity. The median hospital stay was 23 d, and the median interval for return to regular activities was 110 ***: This series supports the concept of delayed single-stage open pancreatic necrosectomy for IPN. Advances in critical care, antibiotics and interventional radiology have played complementary role in improving the outcomes.

Improving chilling tolerance in cold-sensitive crops,***,requires knowledge of the early molecular response to low temperature in these under-studied *** elucidate early responding processes and regulators,we captured the transcriptional response at 30 minutes and 3 hours in the shoots and at 3 hours in the roots of tomato post-chilling from 24℃ to 4℃.We used a pre-treatment control and a concurrent ambient temperature control to reveal that majority of the differential expression between cold and ambient conditions is due to severely compressed oscillation of a large set of diurnally regulated genes in both the shoots and *** compression happens within 30 minutes of chilling,lasts for the duration of cold treatment,and is relieved within 3 hours of return to ambient *** study also shows that the canonical ICE1/CAMTA-to-CBF cold response pathway is active in the shoots,but not in the *** stress induces synthesis of known cryoprotectants(trehalose and polyamines),in a CBF-independent manner,and induction of multiple genes encoding proteins of photosystems I and *** study provides nuanced insights into the organ-specific response in a chilling sensitive plant,as well as the genes influenced by an interaction of chilling response and the circadian clock.
