The ZnO molecule plays an important role in the industry due to it special features, anti-corrosion anti-bacterial properties, as well as due to its low electrical conductivity and heat resistance. In these experimental researches, the sol-gel method was chosen, which enables control of nucleation, aging and growth of particles in the solution. ZnO synthesis was prepared utilizing chemical method with Zinc acetate dyhidrate and NaOH with the appropriate methanol solvent and heating (60˚C). The methods used in identification and characterization are FTIR, UV/VIS, OPTICAL MICROSCOPY, SEM and XRD. The FTIR spectra of synthesized ZnO with corresponding ones show characteristic bands at the corresponding wavelengths, which confirm the presence of ZnO nanoparticles. SEM characterization of ZnO shows the morphology of needle-shaped nanoparticles. XRD spectar in this research by chemical method indicates the particle size of 17.76 nm.

The fundamental characteristics and the flow mechanism of a Vibrating Flow Pump （VFP） with a jelly-fish valve, which can be applied to a novel artificial heart, were studied theoretically and experimentally. By using water as the working fluid, the measurement methodology for the typical unsteady flow for VFP was developed here. The effects of the frequency, amplitude and inner diameter of the vibrating pipe, and thickness of the silicone rubber sheet of the jelly-fish valve on the basic per- formance of VFP were systematically investigated. A high-speed observation technique and simple theoretical model analysis were also introdueed for further detailed discussion. Quantitative contributions of the individual parameters to the pumping performance were shown through the experiment, which would give us essential knowledge for establishing design criteria of VFE The theoretical model, which agreed with the experiment and the high-speed observation, elucidated the pumping mechanism with respect to the role of inertia of the inner fluid.

Prevention of gob ignitions and explosions in longwall mining using dynamic seals

Most, if not all longwall gob areas accumulate explosive methane-air mixtures that pose a deadly hazard to miners. Numerous mine explosions have originated from explosive gas zones(EGZs) in the longwall gob. Since 2010, researchers at the Colorado School of Mines(CSM) have studied EGZ formation in longwall gobs under two long-term research projects funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. Researchers used computational fluid dynamics along with in-mine measurements. For the first time, they demonstrated that EGZs form along the fringe areas between the methane-rich atmospheres and the fresh air ventilated areas along the working face and present an explosion and fire hazard to mine workers. In this study, researchers found that, for progressively sealed gobs, a targeted injection of nitrogen from the headgate and tailgate, along with a back return ventilation arrangement, will create a dynamic seal of nitrogen that effectively separates the methane zone from the face air and eliminates the EGZs to prevent explosions. Using this form of nitrogen injection to create dynamic seals should be a consideration for all longwall operators.

To date,there are very few studies about the spectroscopy of lithium-containing minerals(LCMs)in the scientific *** main objective of this study is to investigate the capability of Sentinel-2 image and FieldSpec3 spectro-radiometer in terms of mapping five important LCMs,including spodumene,lepidolite,amblygonite,petalite,and ***,first the FieldSpec3 spectro-radiometer was used to create the spectral curves of the ***,accurate spectral analysis and comparison of the studied LCMs were performed using The Spectral Geologist(TSG)and the Prism *** two software can show even slight difference in absorption features of different LCMs,which can discriminate and identify these ***-bearing rocks show absorption features at~365,~2200,and~2350 nm and reflective features at~550-770 *** features are consistent with Sentinel-2 ***,the created spectral curves were utilized for calibration of Sentinel-2 optical image to detect and map the potential zones of the rock units containing minerals mentioned above in a part of the central Iranian *** using the Spectral Angle Mapper(SAM)classifier module,the potential areas were *** of the five LCMs,petalite and spodumene showed more extensive coverage in the study *** speaking,the largest concentration of those LCMs can be seen in southern and centraleastern parts of the study *** comparison between spectral curves of reference and classified minerals confirmed the high capability of Sentinel-2 image for LCMs *** image classification results also confirmed the presence of the LCMs,but it cannot distinguish the LCMs type successfully.

Gob ventilation boreholes(GVBs)are widely used for degasification in *** coal *** on geological conditions,30–50%of methane can be recovered from longwall gob using GVBs.A NIOSH funded research at the Colorado School of Mines confirmed that GVBs can efficiently reduce methane at the ***,GVBs can also draw some fresh air from the face and create explosive gas zones(EGZs).Explosive gas mixtures may be formed in gob areas due to the increased ingress of oxygen from *** is critical to identify the locations for GVBs for maximizing extraction of methane and minimizing hazards of *** study analyzes the effect of operating parameters and design of GVB on methane extraction,EGZs formation,and face and tailgate methane *** extraction,formation of EGZs,and concentration of methane in working areas are significantly impacted by various *** factors include the distance of work face and tailgate from GVBs,diameter of GVBs,vacuum pressure of wellhead,GVB distance from the roof of the coal seam,and number of operating GVBs in a *** fluid dynamics(CFD)evaluations suggest optimal design and operating parameters of GVBs that can contribute to maximum benefits with minimum risks.

Efficacy of Valerian Extract on Sleep Quality after Coronary Artery bypass Graft Surgery: A Triple-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective:To assess the effect of valerian root extract on the sleep quality of patients after coronary artery bypass graft(CABG)***:The patients who participated in this triple-blind clinical trial were selected by permuted block *** participants were assigned to the valerian(n=36)and placebo(n=36)*** valerian group received 530 mg of valerian capsules for 30 nights after CABG surgery,and the placebo group received 530 mg of the placebo capsules containing wheat *** Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),the prothrombin time(PT)and partial thromboplastin time(PTT)were assessed on four occasions,including the baseline,the 3 rd,14 th and 30 th days following ***:The odds ratio of worsened sleep quality significantly varied over time(the interaction of time and group)in the valerian group compared to the placebo group in various dimensions including total sleep quality(P=0.001),sleep latency(P<0.01),sleep duration(P=0.020),sleep efficiency(P=0.001)and daytime dysfunction(P=0.025).No significant difference was observed in the alterations of the odds ratio of PT in the two groups over time.(P=0.371).Conclusion:The consumption of oral valerian root extract over 30 nights could significantly improve the patients'sleep quality safely after CABG surgery.

OBJECTIVES： Targeted therapy of Philadelphia-positive ALL and CML patients using imatinib （IM） has caused significant changes in treatment course and has increased the survival of patients. A small group of patients show resistance to IM. Acquired mutations in tyrosine kinase domain of BCR-ABL protein are a mechanism for development of resistance. T315I is one of the most common acquired mutations in this domain, which occurs in ATP binding site and inhibits the formation of hydrogen bond with IM. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of this mutation in BCR/ABL-positive CML and ALL patients. METHODS： To conduct this study, 60 BCR-ABL-positive patients （including 50 CML and 10 ALL patients） who were subject to treatment with IM were selected. After taking the samples, presence of T315I mutation was assessed using ARMS- PCR on cDNA and its polymorphism was evaluated by sequencing. RESULTS： The results showed that among 60 patients, only three patients had T315I mutation, which was detected using ARMS technique. The three patients bearing mutation were afflicted with CML and no significant association was found between blood parameters with duration of treatment in presence of mutation. CONCLUSIONS： The mutation was found in three CML patients, which indicated lower likelihood and diagnostic value of this mutation in ALL patients. Given the negative direct sequencing results in T3151 patients, it can be concluded that ARMS- PCR is a more sensitive technique when the number of cancer cells is low in patients during treatment.

BACKGROUND： Immune thrombocytopenic purpnra （ITP） is a common autoimmune disorder diagnosed with thrombocytopenia and bleeding symptoms due to production of autoantibodies （Abs） against platelets. Nowadays, microRNAs are known as novel biomarkers for diagnosis of diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression levels of miR-21 and miR-150 in ITP patients and determine the role of these miRNAs in ITP pathogenesis. MATERIALS and METHODS： Thirty newly diagnosed patients with acute ITP and 30 healthy subjects（ age and sex matched） as controls were enrolled in this study. The expression level ofmiR-21 and miR- 150 was investigated using Real-time-PCR. Comparison of demographic characteristics of the cases was done using independent t-test and chi-square test. Comparison of the expression level of miR-21 and miR-150 with the related parameters was done using independent t-test or Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis test, Spearman rho correlation coefficient was used to investigate the relationship between the expression of miR-21 and miR-150 with demographic characteristics. RESULTS： The expression of miR-21, 150 in the patients was not different compared with the control group in general. A significant relationship between the expression of miR-21 with hemoglobin, hematocrit and red blood cell hemoglobin concentration was observed. DISCUSSION： Expression of miR-21 and miR-150 is not associated with pathogenesis of acute ITP and can involve the synergistic role of other miRNAs. Investigation of miR-21 and miR-150 expression along with other miRNAs and cytokines can be helpful in diagnosis and pathogenesis of ITP.
