Probing CO at a specific site on a metal oxide surface is essential for characterizing various applications such as CO oxidation,hydrogenation,and water–gas shift ***,we use atomic force microscopy and Kelvin probe force microscopy to probe the CO on a rutile TiO_(2)(110)*** results indicate that CO can be manipulated along the Ti row by the repulsive lateral force of“pushing”***,the joint combination of precise manipulation and the distance dependence of local contact potential difference allow us to resolve the interatomic dipole moment and charge state of CO at atomic ***,we found that the negatively charged CO with the dipole moment of negative pole down on the rutile TiO_(2)(110)*** results suppose that both the charge state as well as the on-surface dipole interaction are very effective for CO reaction on rutile TiO_(2)(110)surface.

High-spin states in 187Pt were studied via the 173Yb(18O,4n) reaction. Rotational bands based on the νi13/2,ν7/2-[503],νi213/2νj,ν3/2-[512] and ν1/2-[521] configurations were observed,and interpreted within the framework of the cranked shell model. The TRS calculations show that the νi13/2 band has an appreciable negative γ deformation,and the negative-parity bands tend to have a near prolate shape with small positive γ values. Experimental values of B(M1) /B(E2) ratios have been extracted and compared with theoretical values from the semi-classical D-nau and Frauendof approach,strongly suggesting a low frequency πh9/2 alignment in the ν7/2-[503] band.

Thick target yields of α particles emitted in the 6Li(d,α)4He and 7Li(p,α)4He reactions were measured for Li target in the solid and liquid phase. Observed reaction rates for the liquid Li are always larger than those for the solid. This suggests that the stopping power of hydrogen ion in the liquid Li metal might be smaller than in the solid. Using the empirically obtained stopping power for the liquid Li,we have deduced the screening potentials of the Li+p and Li+d reactions in both phases. The deduced screening potential for the liquid Li is about 500 eV larger than for the solid. This difference is attributed to the effect of liquefied Li+ ions. It is concluded that the ionic screening is much stronger than the electronic screening in a low-temperature dense plasmas.

In atomic force microscopy(AFM), high-frequency components consisted in dynamic tip-sample interaction have been recently demonstrated as a promising technique for exploring more extensive material properties. Here we present an exploratory study of high harmonic atomic force microscopy by force-spectroscopy and high harmonic imaging. Since these components are very weak compared to the fundamental response, we firstly designed a high harmonic cantilever by tuning the second order flexural resonance frequency to an integer 6 times of its fundamental mode(i.e. ω_2=6ω_1). Moreover, it is verified that high harmonic can discern extra features than topographies on different samples with amplitude/frequency modulation(AM/FM) dynamic AFM mode. In AM mode, the first resonance amplitude and 6 th harmonic amplitude were discussed. The 6 th harmonic is more sensitive than the first order response. In FM mode, it is noted that the decaying rate of the 6 th harmonic frequency is approximately 6 multiples to the slope of the fundamental frequency shift when the tip approaches to the surface of sample. This non-destructive method was also adopted to investigate the local interlayer coupling and intercalation in the two-dimensional graphene films tentatively.

High-spin states in 145Tb have been populated using the 118Sn (32S, 1p4n) reaction at beam energy of 165 MeV. The level scheme of 145Tb has been established up to Ex ≈7.4 MeV. The level scheme shows characteristics of a spherical or slightly oblate nucleus. Based on the systematic trends of the level structure in the neighboring N = 80 isotones, the level structure in 145Tb below 2 MeV excitation is well explained by coupling an h11/2valence proton to the even-even 144Gd core. Above 2 MeV excitation, most of the yrast levels are interpreted with multi-quasiparticle shell-model configurations.

A standard in-beam γ-spectroscopy experiment for 179Au has been performed via the 149Sm (35Cl, 5n) reaction at beam energies of 164-180 MeV. Based on the analysis of the experimental results, a rotational band built on the 1/2 [660](πi13/2) proton intruder orbital is established for 179Au for the first time. Systematic properties of the 1/2 [660](i13/2) band in odd-A Au nuclei are discussed, and the evolution of bandhead energy and deformation with changing neutron number are revealed.

High-spin states in 178'180Ir have been studied via the 152'154Sm(31P,5nγ)reactions through excitation functions,x-γandγ-γ-t coincidence measurements.A doubly decoupled band has been identified in each of the *** level spacings for such structures in odd-odd ^(178-186)Ir have been inspected and thus a regular level staggering as a function of the neutron number is *** particular phenomenon may be associated with bandmixing at lower excitation energies.

The search for the ri_(13/2) vi_(13/2 ) band in ^(178)Ir has been conducted through the ^(152)Sm(^(31) P, 5nγ)^( 178)Ir reaction and the excitation functions, x-γ and γ-γ-t coincidence measurements. Five rotational bands have been newly identified. The low-spin signature inversion in the πi13/2 vi13/2 band has been confirmed by the observations of linking transitions and signature crossing at I = 25.5 h. The inversion phenomenon in rh11/2 vi_(13/2), rh9/2 vi_(13/2) and ri_(13/2) vi13/2 structures in ^(178)Ir provides a unique testing ground for different theoretical interpretations.
