Insight into the relationship between non-linear mixed convection and thermal radiation:The case of Newtonian fluid flow due to non-linear stretching

The current research focuses the light on the characterization of buoyancy-driven non-linear mixed convection and non-linear radiation in a Newtonian flow over a nonlinearly stretching vertical sheet,and this type of flow has useful applications in many industrial processes,such as the paper and pulp industry,polymer industry,electronic device cooling,solar collectors,gas turbine plants,and nuclear *** appropriate transformations,governing PDEs for non-linear mixed convection are reduced to higher-order non-linear ODEs and those are numerically *** with tabular presentations of computed results,the graphical representations are generated to elucidate the effects of involved parameters on convection transport properties and their *** demonstrates that flow velocity increases near the surface and decreases away from the surface as the non-linear convection parameter ***,increments in the thermal buoyancy,temperature ratio and non-linear radiation parameters result in the boost of *** temperature decreases as linear and non-linear buoyancy-related parameters(non-linear convection and thermal buoyancy parameters)are of higher *** contrast,the temperature rises with two non-linear thermal radiation-related parameters(thermal ratio and non-linear radiation parameters).For greater values of the non-linear stretching related parameter,a lower velocity and a higher temperature are *** non-linear convection,thermal buoyancy,thermal ratio and non-linear radiation parameters contribute toward the reduction of the magnitude of surface-drag force and growth of the surface cooling ***,with the non-linearity in surface stretching there are significant percentage hikes of surface-drag force magnitude and surface cooling rate.

本文从变质地质学视角出发,介绍了喜马拉雅造山带的研究意义、地质概况和近年来作者在喜马拉雅碰撞造山过程研究中的进展。喜马拉雅造山带是威尔逊旋回中陆陆碰撞造山带的典型代表,从中揭示的大陆碰撞造山过程、规律及效应,可为探索地球从古至今的碰撞造山带演化研究所借鉴。其中,大陆碰撞造山机制的研究是其核心内容。大陆碰撞造山机制存在临界楔和隧道流两种端元模型之争,其分别对造山带核部高级变质岩折返的P-T-t轨迹和时空演化序列进行了不同的预测。上述争议可通过研究喜马拉雅核部高级变质岩(高喜马拉雅)的P-T-t轨迹和折返过程来限定,据此可将喜马拉雅碰撞造山过程划分为三个演化阶段。阶段一:60~40 Ma,软碰撞期,造山带地壳加厚至约40 km并发生小规模部分熔融,这些早期地壳加厚记录大多已被剥蚀,零星保存于前陆飞来峰和北喜马拉雅片麻岩穹隆中;喜马拉雅山从海平面以下抬升至>1000 m。阶段二:40~16 Ma,硬碰撞期,造山带地壳加厚至60~70 km,发生大规模高级变质和深熔作用,高喜马拉雅内部的三个次级岩片沿着“原喜马拉雅逆冲断层”、“高喜马拉雅逆冲断层”、“主中央逆冲断层”顺序式向南挤出,形成了现今喜马拉雅造山带的核部主体,地壳堆叠使喜马拉雅山快速隆升至≥5000 m。阶段三:16~0 Ma,晚碰撞期,造山带山根榴辉岩化发生局部拆沉,但大陆汇聚仍在持续、造山带尚未发生垮塌,小喜马拉雅折返、前陆盆地形成,喜马拉雅山达到和维持现今平均高度~6000 m。因此,喜马拉雅生长过程的一级次序是顺序式向南扩展的,受控于临界楔模型,而隧道流只起次级作用。山根深部热流过程对造山带的地壳结构和地表高程有巨大的改造作用。未来对喜马拉雅造山带的变质地质学研究可能存在以下几个关键科学问题:(1)喜马拉雅极端变质作用与重大碰撞造山事件的关联;(2)喜马拉雅稀有金属成矿与接触变质作用的关联;(3)喜马拉雅变质脱碳作用与大陆碰撞带深部碳循环和通量。

A novel genetic approach for optimized biological sequence alignment

Biological sequence alignment is one of the most important problems in computational biology. The objective of the alignment process is to maximize the alignment score between two given sequences of varying or equal length. The alignment score of two sequences is calculated based on matches, mismatches and gaps in the alignment. We have proposed a new genetic approach for finding optimized match between two DNA or protein sequences. The process is compared with two well known relevant sequence alignment techniques.

Argumentative Comparative Analysis of Machine Learning on Coronary Artery Disease

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of death across the globe. Approximately 17.9 million of people die globally each year due to CVD, which comprises 31% of all death. Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is a common type of CVD and is considered fatal. Predictive models that use machine learning algorithms may assist health workers in timely detection of CAD which ultimately reduces the mortality. The main purpose of this study is to build a predictive model that provides doctors and health care providers with personalized information to implement better and more personalized treatments for their patients. In this study, we use the publicly available Z-Alizadeh Sani dataset which contains random samples of 216 cases with CAD and 87 normal controls with 56 different features. The binary variable “Cath” which represents case-control status, is used the target variable. We study its relationship with other predictors and develop classification models using the five different supervised classification machine learning algorithms: Logistic Regression (LR), Classification Tree with Bagging (Bagging CART), Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN).

A Novel Cluster Based Time Synchronization Technique for Wireless Sensor Networks

Time synchronization is one of the important aspects in wireless sensor networks. Time synchronization assures that all the sensor nodes in wireless sensor network have the same clock time. There are various applications such as seismic study, military applications, pollution monitoring where sensor nodes require synchronized time. Time synchronization is mandatory for many wireless sensor networks protocols such as MAC protocols and also important for TDMA scheduling for proper duty cycle coordination. Time synchronization is a stimulating problem in wireless sensor networks because each node has its own local clock which keeps on varying due to variation in the oscillator frequency. The oscillator frequency is time varying due to ambient conditions which leads to re-synchronization of nodes time and again. This re-synchronization process is energy consuming whereas energy is constraints in WSN. This paper proposes a novel cluster based time synchronization technique for wireless sensor networks in which cluster head rotation is based on minimum clock offset. Simulation results based on energy analysis of the proposed model demonstrate that proposed novel cluster based time synchronization technique reduces the energy consumption and also the synchronization error compared with other existing protocols.

Effects of Ethanol Addition and Biological Pretreatment on Soda Pulping of Eulaliopsis binata

Morphological characteristics and proximate chemical analysis of E. binata showed it as a suitable raw material for writing and printing grade paper. Maximum pulp yield (43.58%) of kappa number 17.38 with 0.9% screening rejects was obtained at 12% of active alkali (as Na2O) pulping temperature 130°C, cooking time 120 min and solid to liquor ratio 1:4. During bio-soda pulping of E. binata, pulp yield decreased slightly while pulp brightness, tensile index, burst index and double fold numbers were improved by 4.1%, 24.94%, 14.03% and 48.45% respectively compared to soda pulping. During ethanol-soda pulping of E. binata, pulp yield, pulp brightness, tensile index, burst index and double fold numbers were improved by 3.9%, 6.6%, 32.18%, 35.40% and 77.31% respectively compared to soda pulping.

The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) held the International Summit on Breakout Technology of Engines and Fuels to discuss this development trend along with potential breakout technologies.

An Approach to Parallel Simulation of Ordinary Differential Equations

Cyber-physical systems (CPS) represent a class of complex engineered systems where functionality and behavior emerge through the interaction between the computational and physical domains. Simulation provides design engineers with quick and accurate feedback on the behaviors generated by their designs. However, as systems become more complex, simulating their behaviors becomes computation all complex. But, most modern simulation environments still execute on a single thread, which does not take advantage of the processing power available on modern multi-core CPUs. This paper investigates methods to partition and simulate differential equation-based models of cyber-physical systems using multiple threads on multi-core CPUs that can share data across threads. We describe model partitioning methods using fixed step and variable step numerical in-tegration methods that consider the multi-layer cache structure of these CPUs to avoid simulation performance degradation due to cache conflicts. We study the effectiveness of each parallel simu-lation algorithm by calculating the relative speedup compared to a serial simulation applied to a series of large electric circuit models. We also develop a series of guidelines for maximizing performance when developing parallel simulation software intended for use on multi-core CPUs.

Abundance and biomass of assorted small indigenous fish species:Observations from rural fish markets of West Bengal,India

The small indigenous fish species(SIS)are harvested as ensemble of different fish species of varying size and *** appraisal of the abundance and biomass of fish species constituting such ensemble was carried out with samples collected from fish markets ofWest Bengal,*** data revealed that at least 22 different fish species were present varying in numbers and species *** abundance and biomass of the individual fish species was negatively correlated,indicating numerical dominance of small sized *** regression showed a good fit of the relative abundance(y)with the species richness(x)in the samples of SIS(y=55.72ln(x)e 77.27;r^(2)=0.940),while power regression was best fit for the relative biomass of individual fish(y)with the species richness(x)in the samples of SIS(y=24.58x^(-1.54);R^(2)=0.831).In overall both species specific and individual based biomass and abundance relationships were negatively *** order to ascertain the harvest and marketability of the SIS in a judicious manner,monitoring of the fish assemblages in natural habitats is recommended.
