Dioxin-like molecules have been associated with endocrine disruption and liver *** better understand aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AHR)biology,metabolic phenotyping and liver proteomics were performed in mice following ligand-activation or whole-body genetic ablation of this *** wild type(WT)and Ahr^(-/-) mice(Taconic)were fed a control diet and exposed to 3,3',4,4',5-pentachlorobiphenyl(PCB126)(61 nmol/kg by gavage)or vehicle for two ***126 increased expression of canonical AHR targets(Cyp1 a1 and Cyp1 a2)in WT but not Ahr^(-/-).Knockouts had increased adiposity with decreased glucose tolerance;smaller livers with increased steatosis and perilipin-2;and paradoxically decreased blood ***126 was associated with increased hepatic triglycerides in Ahr^(-/-).The liver proteome was impacted more so by Ahr^(-/-) genotype than ligandactivation,but top gene ontology(GO)processes were *** PCB126-associated liver proteome was *** principally regulated liver metabolism(e.g.,lipids,xenobiotics,organic acids)and bioenergetics,but it also impacted liver endocrine response(e.g.,the insulin receptor)and function,including the production of steroids,hepatokines,and pheromone binding *** effects could have been indirectly mediated by interacting transcription factors or *** biologic roles of the AHR and its ligands warrant more research in liver metabolic health and disease.

Endosulfan Causes Neoplastic Changes in the Liver Cells of Mice

The rapid growth in global population continues to challenge the world’s ability to provide enough food. As one of the most crucial issues for human development, food production must increase to offset hunger and poverty as well as social unrest. To augment the yield of crops a variety of pesticides like Endosulfan, Rogor, Aldrin, Chlorpyrifos, etc. are being used liberally by the farmers. In the present investigation, Endosulfan was administered orally (daily) by gavage method to female Swiss albino mice group for 4 weeks @ 3.0 mg/kg b.w. After that, they were left for 6 months and then sacrificed and liver tissues were fixed for light microscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopic study. The histopathological study of Endosulfan administered group liver showed hepatocytes with congestion in central vein with less dense cytoplasm, haemorrhaged bile duct, degenerated cytoplasm and central vein with vacuolations in sinusoidal spaces. Neoplastic changes in hepatocytes are the major finding of study. The ultrastuctural study revealed dilation in the nuclear pore complex and massive movement of cytoplasmic material from cytoplasm to the nucleus which is major finding which denotes neoplastic changes. Presence of abundant free lying polyribosomes in the cytoplasm, which denotes neoplastic changes in the cellis also one of theimportant finding observed. The present study thus deciphers that Endosulfan toxicity leads to onset of neoplasia thence carcinogenesis in liver cells in Swiss albino mice which is the novel finding in the field of toxicology.

This paper proposes the mathematical model to investigate how to compute and analyze the tsunami wave parameters and the retrieval of its early warning using remote sensing technique to improve the detection *** different methods available for the evaluation of the tsunami detection systems are also *** research work is to compute and analyze the tsunami wave parameters such as Eigen functions in deep,intermediate and shallow water *** computational and algorithmic analysis of tsunami wave parameters are achieved in three steps:the first step is to calculate the earthquake fault parameters such as length,width,area and displacement from the epicenter,which corresponds to the effect of its variation with respect to the earthquake *** variation of each fault parameters have been measured and recorded out over the certain moment of magnitudes(M).This shows smaller values as compared to the earthquake magnitude M 9.5 at which all the parameters shows very large *** second step involves the measurements of water wave angular frequency in deep,intermediate and shallower region of *** values of angular frequencies in deep water shows the lesser response as compared to other two water conditions because,in deep water the angular velocity of water particles travels with the lesser speed as compared to the shallower region as per Airy’s wave *** simulation results show the angular velocity in Deep Ocean is very less,moderate in the intermediate water and very high on the coastal *** indicates the higher impact on coastal *** third step involves the simulation study of measurement of tsunami Eigen functions such as orbital velocity,acceleration,wave potential in deep,intermediate and shallower water *** simulation result shows the resultant orbital velocity and accelerations in deep,intermediate and shallow water regions provides the similar response as angular velocity due to same proportion of the

Distinct Role of Core Promoter Architecture in Regulation of Light-Mediated Responses in Plant Genes

In the present study, we selected four distinct classes of light-regulated promoters. The light-regulated promoters can be distinctly grouped into either TATA-box-containing or TATA-less （initiator-containing） promoters. Further, using either native promoters or their swapped versions of core promoter elements, we established that TATA-box and Inr （Initiator） elements have distinct mechanisms which are involved in light-mediated regulation, and these elements are not swappable. We identified that mutations in either functional TATA-box or Inr elements lead to the formation of nucleosomal structure. The nucleotide diversity in either the TATA-box or Inr element in Arabidopsis ecotypes proposes that the nucleotide variation in core promoters can alter the gene expression. We show that motif overrepresentation in light-activated promoters encompasses different specific regulatory motifs present downstream of TSS （transcription start site）, and this might serve as a key factor in regulating light promoters which are parallel with these elements. Finally, we conclude that the TATA-box or Inr element does not act in isolation, but our results clearly suggests the probable involvement of other distinct core promoter elements in concurrence with the TATA-box or Inr element to impart selectivity to light-mediated transcription.
