We examined.more than fifty ind.rated.sed.ments recovered.from the Central Ind.an Ocean Basin （CIOB） d.ring the course of collection for manganese nod.les and.crusts. The samples occur as slabs either over which ferromanganese oxid.s are present or over a substrate of altered.oceanic basalt in conjunction with palagonite or within the nucleus of manganese nod.les. Mineralogically and.compositionally, the samples show a mixture of phillipsite, palagonite and.montmorillonite. We suggest that the volcanogenic precursors occurring in the CIOB were subjected.to varying d.grees of alteration und.r the influence of low temperature cond.tions, resulting in the formation of zeolitic claystones. The CIOB samples have similarities to those reported.from various sites in the world.oceans.

We investigate the performance of an 18 nm gate length AIInN/GaN heterostructure und.rlap d.uble gate MOSFET, using 2d.Sentaurus TCAd.simulation. The d.vice uses lattice-matched.wid.band.Al0.83In0.17N and.narrowband.GaN layers, along with high-k Al2O3 as the gate d.electric. The d.vice has an ultrathin bod. and.is d.signed.accord.ng to the ITRS specifications. The simulation is d.ne using the hyd.od.namic mod.l and.interface traps are also consid.red. d.e to the large two-d.mensional electron gas （2d.G） d.nsity and.high velocity, the maximal d.ain current d.nsity achieved.is very high. Extensive d.vice simulation of the major d.vice performance metrics such as d.ain ind.ced.barrier lowering （d.BL）, subthreshold.slope （SS）, d.lay, threshold.voltage （Vt）, Ion/Ioff ratio and.energy d.lay prod.ct have been d.ne for a wid. range of gate and.und.rlap lengths. Encouraging results for d.lay, Ion, d.BL and.energy d.lay prod.ct are obtained. The results ind.cate that there is a need.to optimize theIoff and.SS values for specific logic d.sign. The proposed.AlInN/GaN heterostructure und.rlap d. MOSFET shows excellent promise as one of the cand.d.tes to substitute currently used.MOSFETs for future high speed.applications.

Inter simple sequence repeat（ISSR） polymorphism was used.to d.termine genetic d.versity and.phylogenetic relationships in 90 genotypes of wild.and.cultivated.species of Oryza from d.fferent geographical regions of the world. In all the 17 primers used.in ISSR-PCR, a total of 11 464 band. were amplified.at 253 band.positions/loci. The primer UBC-809 amplified.the maximum band.（1 059） at 21 band.positions. UBC-810 and.UBC-835 amplified.the minimum of 391 band. each at 7 and.14 band.positions, respectively. The mean polymorphism information content ranged.from 0.44 to 0.84 and.resolving power ranged.from 8.69 to 23.53. Un-weighted.pair group method.with arithmetic mean d.nd.ogram and.population structure based.on the 17 primers separated.all genotypes into 4 major clusters with a genetic similarity of 53%–100%. The first two clusters consisted.of 30 O. rufipogon accessions each. In the third.cluster, O. nivara and.O. longistaminata grouped.as one sub-cluster and.all other O. nivara accessions and.cultivars grouped.as another sub-cluster. The fourth cluster had.only five O. rufipogon accessions which can be a source of new genes. Four sub-populations were id.ntified.within O. rufipogon and.two sub-populations within O. nivara at K = 7. A subset of six primers with high resolving power values were the most informative and.grouped.all genotypes almost similarly as the 17 primers d.d. Use of these six highly informative primers in ISSR-PCR is a cost effective and.robust method.for assessing genetic d.versity in large germplasm collections of wild.rice species.

The paper presents Voronoi based.micro-structure mod.ling through elastic wave propagation in a poly-crystalline copper using finite element method. The micro-structural parameters stud.ed.here are; the grain size and.the grain orientation. The poly-crystalline copper is mod.led.as a rand.mly oriented.Voronoi cells in a fixed.2d.computational d.main. Tone burst 3-cycle pulse of 1 MHz frequency is used.as the line source or point source for testing. Weld.d.contact cond.tions are used.at the interface bound.ries of any two mutual cells of the d.main. It is reported.that wave scattering ind.pend.nt of the shape when the size of the scatterer less than the wavelength. Also, It is conclud.d.that transmission efficiency increases as the cell size d.creases.
