Morphological Classification of Infrared Galaxies Based on WISE

This study introduces a novel convolutional neural network,the WISE Galaxy Classification Network(WGC),for classifying spiral and elliptical galaxies using Wide-field Infrared survey Explorer(WISE)*** attains an accuracy of 89.03%,surpassing the combined use of K-means or SVM with the Color-Color method in more accurately identifying galaxy *** enhanced variant,WGC_mag,integrates magnitude parameters with image features,further boosting the accuracy to 89.89%.The research also delves into the criteria for galaxy classification,discovering that WGC primarily categorizes dust-rich images as elliptical galaxies,corresponding to their lower star formation rates,and classifies less dusty images as spiral *** paper explores the consistency and complementarity of WISE infrared images with SDSS optical images in galaxy morphology *** SDSS Galaxy Classification Network(SGC),trained on SDSS images,achieved an accuracy of 94.64%.The accuracy reached 99.30% when predictions from SGC and WGC were *** the complementarity of features in WISE and SDSS images,a novel variant of a classifier,namely the Multi-band Galaxy Morphology Integrated Classifier,has been *** classifier elevates the overall prediction accuracy to 95.39%.Lastly,the versatility of WGC was validated in other data *** the HyperLEDA data set,the distinction between elliptical galaxies and Sc,Scd and Sd spiral galaxies was most pronounced,achieving an accuracy of 90%,surpassing the classification results of the Galaxy Zoo 2 labeled WISE data *** research not only demonstrates the effectiveness of WISE images in galaxy morphology classification but also represents an attempt to integrate multi-band astronomical data to enhance understanding of galaxy structures and evolution.

Quinoidal small molecule semiconductors hold huge potential in ambipolar organic field-effect transistors(OFETs)and organic spintronic ***,two quinoidal molecules with methylthio side chains were synthesized to develop molecular semiconductors with high ambipolar mobility,designated QBDTS and *** theoretical calculation results reveal that QBDTS has a closed-shell structure while QTBDTS showed an open-shell structure with a biradical character(y0)of 0.46 and its magnetic properties were further investigated using electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)and superconducting quantum interference device(SQUID)*** methyl side chains showed a large impact on the molecular orbital *** HOMO/LUMO levels of QBDTS and QTBDTS were measured to be-5.66/-4.56 and-5.27/-4.48 eV,respectively,which are favorable for ambipolar charge transport in ***,the spin-coated QBDTS displayed hole and electron mobilities of 0.01 and 0.5 cm^(2)V^(-1)s^(-1)while QTBDTS showed a record high hole mobility of 1.8 cm^(2)V^(-1)s^(-1)and electron mobility of 0.3 cm^(2)V^(-1)s^(-1).Moreover,comparative studies of the thin film morphologies also manifested the beneficial influence of methyl side chains on film crystallinity and molecule *** results strongly proved that methyl side chain engineering can be a simple but efficient strategy for modulating electronic properties and molecular stacking *** work also represents a big advancement for quinoidal molecular semiconductors in ambipolar OFET applications.

Extensive efforts have been made to pursue a low-friction state with promising applications in many fields,such as mechanical and biomedical *** which,the load capacity of the low-friction state has been considered to be crucial for industrial ***,we report a low friction under ultrahigh contact pressure by building a novel self-assembled fluorinated azobenzene layer on an atomically smooth highly-oriented pyrolytic graphite(HOPG)*** friction coefficients could be as low as 0.0005 or even lower under a contact pressure of up to 4 *** demonstrates that the low friction under ultrahigh contact pressure is attributed to molecular *** fluorination leads to effective and robust lubrication between the tip and the self-assembled layer and enhances tighter rigidity which can reduce the stress concentration in the substrate,which was verified by density functional theory(DFT)and molecular dynamics(MD)*** work provides a new approach to avoid the failure of ultralow friction coefficient under relatively high contact pressure,which has promising potential application value in the future.

This article utilizes daily precipitation data from 28 national meteorological stations in northern Shanxi Province spanning from 1972 to 2020,and the US NCEP/NCAR monthly average reanalysis and ERA5 monthly average reanalysis *** study employs techniques such as empirical orthogonal function(EOF)decomposition,MannKendall mutation and other methods to investigate the spatiotemporal distribution of extreme precipitation index in northern Shanxi and their correlation with atmospheric *** research results show that:the absolute index,relative index,intensity index and sustained dry period index(CDD)in the continuous index appear from southwest to *** spatial distribution characteristics of the central region decrease,while the continuous wet period(CWD)decreases from the central to the east and *** three indices Rx1day,Rx5day,and CWD mutated in 1978,1975,and 1983 respectively,and other extreme precipitation indices all appeared in a sudden change from a low-value period to a high-value period occurred around *** the high-value years of the summer extreme precipitation index,there is a significant negative anomaly in the height field in the mid-high latitude regions of *** Shanxi is controlled by a broad low-pressure trough in the Lake Baikal *** vapor transported via the east,west,and south routes converges in the northern Shanxi region and encounters cold air from the *** is a strong upward motion anomaly at 500 hPa in the troposphere,and the dynamic conditions of upper-level divergence and lower-level convergence lead to more summer extreme precipitation in the northern Shanxi ***,in the low-value years of the summer extreme precipitation index,northern Shanxi is affected by a strong high-pressure ridge north of Lake *** is a downward motion anomaly at 500 hPa,and the northern Shanxi region lacks water *** cold and warm air cannot converge,and both the water vapor conditions
