Objective:The activities and products of carbohydrate metabolism are involved in key processes of ***,its relationship with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is ***:The cancer genome atlas(TCGA)-HCC and ICGC-LIRI-JP datasets were acquired via public *** expressed genes(DEGs)between HCC and control samples in the TCGA-HCC dataset were identified and overlapped with 355 carbohydrate metabolism-related genes(CRGs)to obtain differentially expressed CRGs(DE-CRGs).Then,univariate Cox and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)analyses were applied to identify risk model genes,and HCC samples were divided into high/low-risk groups according to the median risk ***,gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA)was performed on the risk model *** sensitivity of the risk model to immunotherapy and chemotherapy was also ***:A total of 8 risk model genes,namely,G6PD,PFKFB4,ACAT1,ALDH2,ACYP1,OGDHL,ACADS,and TKTL1,were ***,the risk score,cancer status,age,and pathologic T stage were strongly associated with the prognosis of HCC *** the stromal score and immune score had significant negative/positive correlations with the risk score,reflecting the important role of the risk model in immunotherapy ***,the stromal and immune scores had significant negative/positive correlations with risk scores,reflecting the important role of the risk model in immunotherapy ***,we found that high-/low-risk patients were more sensitive to 102 drugs,suggesting that the risk model exhibited sensitivity to chemotherapy *** results of the experiments in HCC tissue samples validated the expression of the risk model ***:Through bioinformatic analysis,we constructed a carbohydrate metabolism-related risk model for HCC,contributing to the prognosis prediction and treatment of HCC patients.

surrogate modeling for unsaturated infiltration via the physics and equality-constrained artificial neural networks

Machine learning(ML)provides a new surrogate method for investigating groundwater flow dynamics in unsaturated *** pure data-driven methods(*** neural network,DNN)can provide rapid predictions,but they do require sufficient on-site data for accurate training,and lack interpretability to the physical processes within the *** this paper,we provide a physics and equalityconstrained artificial neural network(PECANN),to derive unsaturated infiltration solutions with a small amount of initial and boundary *** takes the physics-informed neural network(PINN)as a foundation,encodes the unsaturated infiltration physical laws(*** equation,RE)into the loss function,and uses the augmented Lagrangian method to constrain the learning process of the solutions of RE by adding stronger penalty for the initial and boundary *** unsaturated infiltration cases are designed to test the training performance of PECANN,***-dimensional(1D)steady-state unsaturated infiltration,1D transient-state infiltration,two-dimensional(2D)transient-state infiltration,and 1D coupled unsaturated infiltration and *** predicted results of PECANN are compared with the finite difference solutions or analytical *** results indicate that PECANN can accurately capture the variations of pressure head during the unsaturated infiltration,and present higher precision and robustness than DNN and *** is also revealed that PECANN can achieve the same accuracy as the finite difference method with fewer initial and boundary training ***,we investigate the effect of the hyperparameters of PECANN on solving RE *** provides an effective tool for simulating unsaturated infiltration.

Multifunctional carbon materials from rugose rose for energy storage and water purification

With the advancement of social process,the resource problem is becoming more prominent,biomass materials come into being,and it is becoming more and more important to explore and prepare efficient and multifunctional biomass materials to alleviate the problems of energy storage and water *** this paper,nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous carbon materials(NRRC)were produced by one-step carbonization of withered rose as raw material and melamine as nitrogen source with KOH-activated *** resulting nitrogen-doped porous carbon material had the most abundant pores and the best microspherical graded pore structure,with a specific surface area of up to 1393 m2·g^(-1),a pore volume of 0.68 cm3·g^(-1),and a nitrogen-doped content of 5.52%.Electrochemical tests showed that the maximum specific capacitance of NRRC in the three-electrode system was 346.4 F·g^(-1)(0.5 A·g^(-1)),which was combined with favorable capacitance retention performance and cycling *** NRRC//NRRC symmetric supercapacitors were further assembled,and the maximum energy density of a single device was 23.88 Wh·kg^(-1),which still maintains excellent capacitance retention and cyclic charging/discharging *** example,the capacitance retention rate was always close to 96.27%with almost negligible capacitance loss after 10000 consecutive charge/discharge cycles(current density:10 A·g^(-1)).Regardless of the three-electrode or two-electrode system,the super capacitive performance of NRRC porous carbon materials was comparable to the electrochemical performance of many reported biomass porous carbon materials,which showed better energy storage advantages and practical application *** addition,NRRC porous carbon materials had excellent water purification *** dye adsorption test confirmed that NRRC had a high adsorption capacity(491.47 mg·g^(-1))for methylene *** undoubtedly also showed a potential and promising avenue for high value-added utilization

Reconstructing historical forest fire risk in the non-satellite era using the improved forest fire danger index and long short-term memory deep learning-a case study in Sichuan Province,southwestern China

Historical forest fire risk databases are vital for evaluating the effectiveness of past forest management approaches,enhancing forest fire warnings and emergency response capabilities,and accurately budgeting potential carbon emissions resulting from ***,due to the unavailability of spatial information technology,such databases are extremely difficult to build reliably and completely in the non-satellite *** study presented an improved forest fire risk reconstruction framework that integrates a deep learning-based time series prediction model and spatial interpolation to address the challenge in Sichuan Province,southwestern ***,the forest fire danger index(FFDI)was improved by supplementing slope and aspect *** compared the performances of three time series models,namely,the autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA),Prophet and long short-term memory(LSTM)in predicting the modified forest fire danger index(MFFDI).The bestperforming model was used to retrace the MFFDI of individual stations from 1941 to *** this,the Anusplin spatial interpolation method was used to map the distributions of the MFFDI at five-year intervals,which were then subjected to weighted overlay with the distance-to-river layer to generate forest fire risk maps for reconstructing the forest fire danger *** results revealed LSTM as the most accurate in fitting and predicting the historical MFFDI,with a fitting determination coefficient(R^2)of 0.709,mean square error(MSE)of0.047,and validation R^2 and MSE of 0.508 and 0.11,*** validation of the predicted forest fire risk maps indicated that 5 out of 7 historical forest fire events were located in forest fire-prone areas,which is higher than the results determined from the original FFDI(2 out of 7).This proves the effectiveness of the improved MFFDI and indicates a high level of reliability of the historical forest fire risk reconstruction method proposed in this stu

Multiple quantum coherences are often employed to describe quantum many-body dynamics in nuclear spin systems and recently,to characterize quantum phase transitions in trapped *** we investigate the multiple-quantum-coherence dynamics of a spin-1 Bose–Einstein *** adjusting the quadratic Zeeman shift,the condensate exhibits three quantum *** numerical results show that the spectrum of multiple quantum coherence does indeed catch the quantum critical *** importantly,with only a few low-order multiple quantum coherences,the spin-1 condensate exhibits rich signals of the many-body dynamics,beyond conventional *** experimental implementation of such multiple quantum coherence protocol is also discussed.

Ligand-controlled electrochemiluminescence generation from CdSe/CdS/ZnS core/shell/shell quantum dots

The CdSe/CdS/ZnS core/shell/shell quantum dots(QDs)with strong exciton confinement have manifested themselves as competitive light-emitting materials in electrochemiluminescence(ECL).However,cathodic ECL generation by these QDs requires the injection of electron and hole from solid electrode and electrogenerated radicals(for example SO_(4)•^(−)),which is inevitably influenced by not only the inorganic structure of QDs but also the organic ligands on the *** this work we aimed at studying the impact of surface organic ligands on ECL performance of CdSe/CdS/ZnS *** changing the surface ligand from oleate to acetate,we phenomenologically observed the positive shift of ECL onset potential by ca.200 mV and the increase of ECL intensity by~100 times,suggesting that a short ligand is more favorable for ECL *** further comprehend the ligand effect,we measured the charge injection kinetics using potential-modulated,time-resolved photoluminescence,and thinlayer spectroelectrochemistry *** electron and hole injection into QDs were found to be accelerated by 2–20 times if shortening the ligand from oleate to acetate,confirming the significant impact of surface ligands on ECL performance of *** study is expected to provide guidance on how to design surface functionalized QDs for specific applications such as ECL immunodiagnosis,photocatalysis,and photovoltaics.

Simultaneous removal of 1,2-dichlorobenzene and furan over Mn-Ce-Fe oxide catalyst:Catalytic activity and product analysis

The Mn-Ce-Fe mixed oxide(MCFe)was prepared by co-precipitation and the catalytic performance was tested by using 1,2-dichlorobenzene(1,2-DCB)and furan as model molecules of PCDD/*** effect of O_(2)concentration,SO_(2) and NO on the catalytic activity was *** 270℃,the MCFe oxide catalyst presents significant simultaneous removal efficiency of 75.25%and 100%for 1,2-DCB and furan,***-Emmett-Teller(BET)method(BET),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),H_2-temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR),NH_(3)-temperature programmed desorption(NH_3-TPD)and O_(2)-TPD were used to characterize the catalysts before and after the *** tests suggest that the oxidation behavior of furan occurred prior to that of 1,*** to the intermediate products detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),the by-products include chlorinated hydrocarbons,long-chain hydrocarbons,ketone,*** catalytic oxidation reaction paths are proposed.

Molecular Dynamics Simulation Studies on the Micromorphology and Proton Transport of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) Composite Membrane

The perfluorosulfonic acid(PFSA) membrane doped with two-dimensional conductive filler Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) is a fuel cell proton exchange membrane with high application potential. Experimental studies showed that the proton conductivity of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite membrane is improved significantly compared with that in pure Nafion. However, the microscopic mechanism of doping on the enhancement of membrane performance is remain unclear now. In this work, molecular dynamics simulation was used to investigate the microscopic morphology and proton transport behaviors of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite membrane at the molecular level. The results shown that there were significant differences about the diffusion kinetics of water molecules and hydroxium ions in Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) at low and high hydration levels in the nanoscale *** the increase of water content, Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) in membrane was gradually surrounded by ambient water molecules to form a hydration layer, and forming a relatively continuous proton transport channel between Nafion polymer and Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) monomer. The continuous proton transport channel could increase the number of binding sites of proton and thus achieving high proton conductivity and high mobility of water molecules at higher hydration level. The current work can provide a theoretical guidance for designing new type of Nafion composite membranes.

Oscillation detection has been a hot research topic in industries due to the high incidence of oscillation loops and their negative impact on plant *** numerous automatic detection techniques have been proposed,most of them can only address part of the practical *** oscillation is heuristically defined as a visually apparent periodic ***,manual visual inspection is labor-intensive and prone to missed *** neural networks(CNNs),inspired by animal visual systems,have been raised with powerful feature extraction *** this work,an exploration of the typical CNN models for visual oscillation detection is ***,we tested MobileNet-V1,ShuffleNet-V2,Efficient Net-B0,and GhostNet models,and found that such a visual framework is well-suited for oscillation *** feasibility and validity of this framework are verified utilizing extensive numerical and industrial *** with state-of-theart oscillation detectors,the suggested framework is more straightforward and more robust to noise and *** addition,this framework generalizes well and is capable of handling features that are not present in the training data,such as multiple oscillations and outliers.

How the microenvironment dominated by the distance effect to regulate the FeN_(4)site ORR activity and selectivity?

The distance effect of the doped heteroatoms away from the catalytic centers has rarely been *** this work,we conducted density functional theory calculations to thoroughly investigate the influence of heteroatom(N,P,B,and S atoms)doping distance on the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity of graphene-based FeN_(4)*** uncovered a Sabatier-like relationship between heteroatom doping distance and ORR activity of FeN_(4)*** nearest doping does not significantly improve and even block the ORR activity of FeN_(4)*** ORR activity is achieved when the heteroatoms are 4-5Å(N,P,and S atoms)or 6-7Å(B atoms)away from the Fe *** of electronic structure indicates that distance effect can modulate the local chemical environment of Fe atoms,thereby account for the changes in ORR activity along with the doping distance and doping *** study provides insights into the influence of heteroatom doping on the chemical environment of reaction active centers,and provides the theoretical guidance for controlling the doping distance of heteroatoms to achieve optimal catalytic activity and selectivity.
