1997年12月至1998年2月,我们对南极半岛席尔瓦角善于飞翔海鸟与企鹅的取食关联性进行了研究,同时调查了取食集团中主要鸟种的食性。发现每个取食集团中有35.6-37.0只善于飞翔的海鸟,其中几乎都有纹颊企鹅群(Pygoscelis antarctica),黑背鸥(Larus dominicanus)、灰贼鸥(Catharacta maccormicki)、花斑鹱(Daptioncapensis)和巨鹱(Macronectes giganteus)是各集团中最常见的鸟类。各取样单元内有相关性的种数随季节变化而减少,一些种类的减少与特定的物候期有关。南极磷虾(Euphausia superba)是绝大部分飞翔海鸟的主要食物,研究发现黑背鸥与纹颊企鹅所捕食的南极磷虾的大小最为接近。飞翔海鸟的觅食行为表明:在海面上短时停留的飞翔海鸟也能够成功捕捉到磷虾,这可能与磷虾躲避企鹅的捕食有关。

＜正＞ This paper addresses the problem of state duration modeling in combination with spectral subtraction and Rasta filtering to cancel both additive and convolutional noise in a text-dependent speaker verification task. The results presented in this paper suggest that temporal constraints can lead to reductions of 30 and 14% in the error rates at SNR equal to 0 and 6dB, respectively, without noise canceling techniques. However, with noise canceling methods, temporal restrictions give a lower improvement, The results here shown propose that state duration modeling can be useful in those cases when the noise reduction is low.

This project was an attempt to reconstruct a death in dubious circumstance which happened in December 2002 in Tandil (Buenos Aires Province). Although the body was in open air, the entomological expertise discovered signs of delayed colonization. In this experiment, pig carcasses used as models to reconstruct the case. One was placed in shadow and another in sunlight (control). The hypothesis was that the climate and the topography affect the necrophagous insect succession in a mountain site. The families of Coleoptera found on the baits were: Silphidae, Dermestidae, Cleridae, Histeridae;of Díptera: Calliphoridae, Sarcophagidae;Asilidae;of Hymenoptera: Formicidae, Encyrtidae and Vespidae.

Knowledge to Ecological Preferences in a Tropical Epiphytic Algae to Use with Eutrophication Indicators

In Ayapel floodplain periphyton associated to macrophyte roots on the basis of material was collected in fourteen sampling sites in nine moments of compilation. From the analysis of the samples were recorded 550 algal species, of which 56% were diatoms. Furthermore it was valued relative abundances of taxa and the average physicochemical variables to identify the optimal values and tolerance ranges of species. In the case of nitrates optimal value was below 2 mg/L for all algae except for Actinella sp. and Euastrum sinuosum which optimal values were close to zero with low variability. Regarding all species the algal nitrite concentration showed optimum values below 2 mg/L except Encyonema minutum and E. sinuosum whose optimum were 0.4 and 0.5 mg/L respectively. About nitrogen as ammonia was repeated the above situation, i.e. optimum values below 2 mg/L except for E. minutum and E. sinuosum. Respect to phosphorus the species with optimum greater than 0.6 mg/L are the diatoms, in contrast, the lowest values were optimal for E. sinuosum and Actinella sp. From the viewpoint of bioindication high abundance of Synedra goulardii indicates high transparency, Ulnaria ulna and Planothidium lanceolatum indicate lower concentration of dissolved oxygen and water temperature between 29°C - 30°C, Actinella aff. robusta, E. minutum, Cylindrospermopsis raciborski, Lyngbya cf. limnetica, Eunotia naegueli, Navicula cryptocephala, Diadesmis confervaceae, Frustulia rhomboides and Aulacoseira granulata.(For more information,please refer to the PDF.)

Certain wild animals represent sentinels to address issues related to environmental pollution,since they can provide integrative data on both pollutant exposure and biological *** their technological benefits,PBDEs are considered a threat to environmental health due to their persistence,toxicity,and capacity to be *** pollutants have been found geographically widespread in fish,particularly in predator species such as *** aim of this work is to critically review the applicability and usefulness of wild trout for assessing PBDEs in freshwater *** reports include data from highly industrialized areas as well as areas from remote regions with relatively low human activity,including European and North American great lakes and freshwater environments in Europe,Greenland,subarctic areas and Patagonia,respectively.A summary of relevant factors were grouped into organism-specific factors(food habits,age,size,lipid content,sex and reproduction,tissue type,mechanism of contaminant uptake and metabolism),and PBDE levels in the surrounding environment(sediment).Five wild trout species[rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss),brown trout(Salmo trutta),lake trout(Salvelinus namaycush),arctic char(Salvelinus alpinus),and brook trout(Salvelinus fontinalis)],collected worldwide within the 1994 to present time frame,were *** techniques(principal component analysis-PCA)and mapping approach,showed clear differences in geographic distribution patterns of PBDE levels in trout depending on the region studied:wild trout from European and North American great lakes have the highest PBDE *** pattern could be due to high industrial activity at these locations.A correlational approach used to explore intraspecific relationships between PBDE levels and morphometry,showed positive relationships only for brown ***,brown trout showed the highest trout-to-sediment ratios,which is suggestive of a relatively greater capa

4TQS: Four Tiers OVER Quality of Sensing with Energy Improvement in Wireless Sensor Network

This paper presents four algorithms for QoSensing (4TQS) and routing on dynamics Wireless Sensor Networks. Since many types of researches held on QoSensing improvement in terms of coverage and connectivity enhancement. In a WSN with a density of 120 static and 30 mobile nodes, the major power-consuming activities are mobility and communication. Such power constraint has a great effect on the node activities and the same network. We analyzed the occurrence of coverage holes which is, regions inside the area of interest that are void of operational nodes for sensing and/or routing purposes. 4TQS method shows clustering phase through neuro-fuzzy based affinity propagation NFAP, sleep scheduling phase with ESLS algorithm and the assist of coverage enhancement phase in which HAHP is involved. Routing phase and connectivity metrics are improved with DTMR algorithm. Involvement of four efficient algorithms results in improved QoSensing in WSN. We analyzed our proposed method in both Star and Mesh topology in order to evaluate the QoSensing metrics in both topologies. Our method shows promising results in QoSensing metrics or performance in dynamics WSNs.

Unsteady Double Wake Model for the Simulation of Stalled Airfoils

In the present work, the recent developed Unsteady Double Wake Model, USDWM, is used to simulate separated flows past a wind turbine airfoil at high angles of attack. The solver is basically an unsteady two-dimensional panel method which uses the unsteady double wake technique to model flow separation and its dynamics. In this paper, the calculated integral forces have been successfully validated against wind tunnel measurements for the FFA-W3-211 airfoil. Furthermore, the computed highly unsteady flow field is analyzed in detail for a set of angles of attack ranging from light to deep stall conditions.

Development of a Fast Fluid-Structure Coupling Technique for Wind Turbine Computations

Fluid-structure interaction simulations are routinely used in the wind energy industry to evaluate the aerodynamic and structural dynamic performance of wind turbines. Most aero-elastic codes in modern times implement a blade element momentum technique to model the rotor aerodynamics and a modal, multi-body, or finite-element approach to model the turbine structural dynamics. The present paper describes a novel fluid-structure coupling technique which combines a three- dimensional viscous-inviscid solver for horizontal-axis wind-turbine aerodynamics, called MIRAS, and the structural dynamics model used in the aero-elastic code FLEX5. The new code, MIRAS- FLEX, in general shows good agreement with the standard aero-elastic codes FLEX5 and FAST for various test cases. The structural model in MIRAS-FLEX acts to reduce the aerodynamic load computed by MIRAS, particularly near the tip and at high wind speeds.

Impact of Feedlot on Soil Phosphorus Concentration

Raising cattle in feedlots is becoming more common in Argentina, but there is little information available about the effects of this practice on soil phosphorus (P) dynamics. In this study, concentrations of water and Bray -1 extractable soil P were quantified in a feedlot (upper and lower slope positions in the feedlot pen), runoff area and pasture during 2006 - 2008. The feedlot showed higher P concentrations in all P forms, soluble reactive P, soluble nonreactive, total soluble P, and Bray-P1 when compared to runoff area and pasture. Most of the total soluble P was soluble reactive P from the soil in the feedlot and the runoff area, while soluble nonreactive P predominated in the pasture. Concentrations of total soluble P were elevated in the feedlot at the soil surface, ranging on average from 158.71 to 245.86 mg?P?kg?1, and had a rapid decrease within the first 20 cm and remained relatively low, about 25.53 - 27.33 mg?P?kg?1. The evidence that total soluble P concentration in the feedlot was significantly (p < 0.05) higher than that registered in the pasture at 20 - 40 and 40 - 60 cm soil depth suggests a potential transfer of P through the soil from the surface. Although the feedlot had a moderate increase of 23.05 to 24.55 mg?P?kg?1 from the background concentration, it may represent a long-term source of increased nutrient loading to groundwater. Soil extractable Bray-1 P in the top 0 - 2.5 cm fluctuated from 659.26 to 45.36 mg?P?kg?1 in the feedlot and pasture, respectively. The relationship between soil P extracted by test and TSP was linear, and correlation coefficient was r2 = 0.95.
