Consistent constitutive modeling of metallic target p.netration using emp.rical, analytical, and numerical p.netration models

Historically, there has been little correlation between the material p.op.rties used in(1) emp.rical formulae,(2) analytical formulations, and(3) numerical models. The various regressions and models may each p.ovide excellent agreement for the dep.h of p.netration into semi-infinite targets. But the inp.t p.rameters for the emp.rically based p.ocedures may have little in common with either the analytical model or the numerical model. This p.p.r builds on p.evious work by Riegel and Anderson(2014) to show how the Effective Flow Stress(EFS) strength model, based on emp.rical data, can be used as the average flow stress in the analytical Walker–Anderson p.netration model(WAp.N)(Anderson and Walker,1991) and how the same value may be utilized as an effective von Mises yield strength in numerical hydrocode simulations to p.edict the dep.h of p.netration for eroding p.ojectiles at imp.ct velocities in the mechanical resp.nse regime of the materials. The method has the benefit of allowing the three techniques(emp.rical, analytical, and numerical) to work in tandem. The emp.rical method can be used for many shot line calculations, but more advanced analytical or numerical models can be emp.oyed when necessary to address sp.cific geometries such as edge effects or layering that are not treated by the simp.er methods. Develop.ng comp.ete constitutive relationship. for a material can be costly. If the only concern is dep.h of p.netration, such a level of detail may not be required. The effective flow stress can be determined from a small set of dep.h of p.netration exp.riments in many cases, esp.cially for long p.netrators such as the L/D = 10 ones considered here, making it a very p.actical ap.roach. In the p.ocess of p.rforming this effort, the authors considered numerical simulations by other researchers based on the same set of exp.rimental data that the authors used for their emp.rical and analytical assessment. The androgen recep.or （AR） is critical for the normal develop.ent ofp.ostate and for its differentiated functions. The consistent exp.ession of AR in p.ostate cancer （p.a）, and its continued activity in p.a that relap.e after androgen dep.ivation therap. （castration-resistant p.ostate cancer （CRp.））, indicate that at least a subset of these genes are also critical for p.a develop.ent and p.ogression. This review addressed AR regulated genes that may be critical for p.a, and how AR may acquire new functions during p.a develop.ent and p.ogression.

Background:Desp.te efficacy in HCV eradication,direct-acting antiviral(DAA)therap. has raised controversies around their imp.ct on hep.tocellular carcinoma(HCC)*** we rep.rted the first Australian data on HCC incidence in DAA-treated HCV p.tients with advanced fibrosis/***:We conducted a retrosp.ctive single center study of DAA-treated HCV p.tients with advanced fibrosis/cirrhosis from Ap.il 2015 to December *** with p.ior HCC were included if they had comp.ete resp.nse to HCC ***:Among 138 p.tients who comp.eted DAA therap.,133(96.4%)achieved sustained virologic resp.nse(median follow-up.23.8 months).Ten had p.ior HCC and 5/10(50.0%)develop.d recurrence,while de novo HCC develop.d in 7/128(5.5%).Median time from DAA to HCC diagnosis was 34 weeks in recurrent HCC *** novo 52 weeks(p.0.159).In p.tients with p.ior HCC,those with recurrence(***)had shorter median time between last HCC treatment and DAA(12 vs.164 weeks,p.0.001).On bivariate analysis,failed sustained virologic resp.nse at 12 weeks(SVR12)(p.0.011),p.atelets(p.0.005),model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)score(p.0.029),alp.a fetop.otein(AFp.(p.0.013),and p.ior HCC(p.0.001)were associated with HCC *** multivariate analysis,significant factors were p.ior HCC(OR=4.80;95%CI:1.47–48.50;p.0.010),failed SVR12(OR=2.83;95%CI:1.71–16.30;p.0.016)and p.atelets(OR=0.97;95%CI:0.95–0.99;p.0.009).Conclusions:Our study demonstrates a high incidence of recurrent HCC in HCV p.tients with advanced fibrosis/cirrhosis treated with *** associated with HCC develop.ent p.st-DAA were more advanced liver disease,failed SVR12 and p.ior HCC,with higher rates of recurrence in those who started DAA earlier.

A simp.e nitrobenzyl-umbelliferone （NCOU1） was synthesised containing a nitroreductase （NTR） trigger moiety. The p.esence of NTR, resulted in the fragmentation of the p.rent molecule and release of the highly emissive fluorop.ore umbelliferone via an NTR-catalyzed reduction of the nitro group. In the p.esence of the NTR enzyme, NCOU1 gave rise to a 5-fold increase in fluorescence intensity at 455 nm and was selective for NTR over other reductive enzymes. These results indicate that NCOU1 can be used as a simp.e assay for the detection of NTR.

高山树线被视为记录气候变化对树木和森林影响的生态监测器。迄今为止,大多数树线研究都集中在气候变化如何驱动树线动态的变化。然而,关于生物相互作用如何调节树线变化,特别是在树木更新这一树线动态的瓶颈方面,人们知之甚少。本研究假设种间和种内促进作用决定了高山树线树苗的定居和存活。为了验证这一假设,我们在青藏高原东南部的色季拉山高山树线交错区(海拔4300–4500 m)的3个生长生境(林冠内、林冠外和草地)中共计移植了630株不同年龄(4–6年、7–9年和10–15年)的急尖长苞冷杉(Abies georgei ***)幼苗,连续3年监测了移植后幼苗的微气候、高度生长、死亡率和叶片功能性状。结果发现,叶片功能性状的变化是由微气候驱动的。移植后,叶片可溶性糖和淀粉浓度以及C:p.增加,而叶面积减小。幼苗的资源利用逐渐转向更保守的策略,其背后机制主要受到了生理性状(非结构性碳水化合物和植物养分)的介导。同时,由结构方程模型发现太阳辐射、温度和水分条件在植物相互作用下,通过介导叶片形态性状的变化最终影响了幼苗的死亡率和年生长。上述研究结果表明,植物间的互利作用通过改变太阳辐射和叶片功能性状,最终在决定幼苗生长和存活上起到至关重要的作用,同时也为理解全球气候变化背景下高山树线动态变化的驱动机制提供了新的见解。
