A modified Monte-Carlo(MC) method to simulate the regular growth of binary eutectic alloys is presented. It is found that the growth rate has a linear dependence on the chemical potential difference between the solid and liquid; the relation between the lamellar spacing A and growth rate R accords well with the prediction of Jackson-Hunt(JH) theory unless the growth rate is very low.

Nanocomposites MgFe2O4/SiO2 were successfully synthesized by the sol-gel method in the presence of N, N-dimethylformamide （DMF）. The formation of pure MgFe2O4 was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction （XRD） and electron diffraction. The structural evolution of MgFe2O4 nanocrystals was followed by powder X-ray diffraction and IR absorption spectroscopy. The formation of spinel structure of MgFe2O4 started at 800 ℃, and completed at 900 ℃, The transmission electron microscopy （TEM） measurements suggest that the particle sizes increase with the increasing annealing temperature, and the mean particle sizes of the spherical samples annealed at 800 ℃, 900 ℃ and 1 050 ℃ are ca. 3.nm, 8 nm and 11 nm, respectively. Magnetization measurements at room temperature and 78 K indicate supemaramagnetic nature of these MgFe2O4 nanocrvstals.

This paper presents the results of field and current distribution in the critical state in a superconducting cylinder using Bean critical state model and isotropic critical current density Jc. We introduced an equivalent effective field and demagnetization factor Dc, and showed that Dc, from extremely long cylinder to very thin disks, is equal to Meissner demagnetization factor of the inscribed spheroid of the cylinder. The application of these parameters is discussed at the end of paper.

As a simulation of surface solidification of materials,quasi-two dimensional dendritic deposition of ammonium chloride(NH_4Cl)crystals from an aqueous solution film with free surface by vapourization was investigated by the in- situ observation *** depositing morphologies of NH_4Cl crystals are faceted and of growth laws differing from the three-dimensional *** low supersaturation,faceted dendrites formed,whereas the anisotropy in growth kinetics decreases with the increase of *** vapourizing rate(supersaturation)is not very low, oscillations of growth ***-radius and second arm spacing of the dendrites were *** is suggested that this dynamic phenomenon is attributed to the correlation between the convection-transfer effect induced by the surface tension gradient of solution *** the driving force for deposition.

Three novel coordination polymers, [Ni2(tib)2(btec)]·2H2O (1), [Co2(tib)2(btec)]·2H2O (2) and [Zn4(tib)2(btec)Cl4]·2H2O (3., have been synthesized by using mixed ligands of 1,3.5-tris(1-imidazolyl)benzene (tib) and 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid (H4btec) under hydrothermal conditions. Complexes 1 and 2 have the same structure and are rare three-dimensional (3.) self-penetrating (3.4,5)-connected nets, while complex 3.is an unprecedented (3.4)-connected 3. net. The different structures of 1 (2) and 3.are ascribed to the distinct coordination geometry of the metal centers. The thermal stability and photoluminescence property of the complexes were investigated.

The spin-dependent intedecial tunneling and the corresponding tunnef-type magnetoresistance (TMR) have been observed in granular perovskite La_(1-x)Sr_xMnO_3.with x from 0.05 to *** shows that the intedecial tunneling originates from the magnetic difference between thegrain core and the sudece, and the TMR stems from the field-induced change of magnetic orderin the interface.

Two cyano-bridged heterobimetallic coordination polymers,[{Mn(dpa)2}2W(CN)8·CH3.N·4H2O]n(1)(dpa = 2,2'-dipyridylamine) and [Mn2(H2O)4{W(CN)8}·3.2O]n(2),have been synthesized and characterized structurally and magnetically.X-ray analysis shows that complex 1 is a one-dimensional(1-D) polymer of W2(CN)4Mn2 square units in which adjacent square fragments are interlinked by sharing [W(CN)8]4-moieties to form an infinite *** 2 is a three-dimensional(3.D) polymer,which shows an unforeseen structure,exhibiting a 3.D open network with a 1-D channel(ca.13.21  × 11.82 ).Fitting of the magnetic properties indicates that both polymers exhibit weakly antiferromagnetic interactions between the adjacent Mn ions.
