Considerable research has been conducted into the efficacy of individual probiotics in broiler production,however information on the most effective combinations of synergistic Bacillus probiotic is *** study investigated the impact of different Bacillus strain combinations in broiler chickens,as well as in vitro enzyme *** experiment one,a total of 576 Ross 308 broilers at 1 d old were grown for 21 d across 6 treatments of maize-soybean diets(n=12 pens per treatment)to compare three different strain combinations(formulation 1[F1]:3 strains Bacillus amyloliquefaciens;F2:Bacillus coagulans and 2 strains ***;F3:***,Bacillus licheniformis and 2 strains ***;F5:Bacillus subtilis,*** and 2 strains ***),positive control(PC),and a negative control antibiotic treatment group(NC).In Exp.2,a total of 360 one-day-old ROSS308 broilers were used to test five treatments(n=9)including PC,NC,F1 and F5(selected from Exp.1),and F4(Bacillus pumilis and 2 strains ***)in a maize-soybean *** F1 demonstrated a significant improvement in feed conversion ratio(FCR)compared to F2 at d 14(1.49 vs 2.10;P=0.038)and the body weight(BW)at d 21(847.0 g vs 787.4 g)compared to other combinations(P=0.027).The FCR at d 21 tended to be lower in birds fed F1(1.46 vs 1.66)compared to the control(P=0.068).Probiotic treatments had significantly improved nutrient digestibility compared to the PC and ***,probiotic treatments supported the growth of streptococcus,a common commensal genus and reduced the abundance of genera that correlated with low weight gain such as *** two revealed that F4 improved FCR(Psting showed a high production of protease and amylase by ***,the addition of Bacillus probiotics,particularly containing *** strains and Bacillus pumilus,into the diet of broiler chickens improves

The tri-band high spectral resolution spectrometer with gratings in tandem for the charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy diagnostic system on HL-2A tokamak

Charge-exchange(CX) recombination spectroscopy is a powerful tool monitoring ion temperature and plasma rotation with good temporal and spatial resolutions. A compact, new design for a high-throughput, tri-band high spectral resolution spectrometer has been developed for the charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy measurement on the HL-2A tokamak. The simultaneous measurements of He II(468.57 nm), C VI(529.1 nm), and Dα(656.1 nm accompanied by beam emission spectra) with an acquisition frequency up to 400 Hz are achieved by vertically binning the spectrum from each fiber in experiments. Initial results indicate that the system can provide radial profiles of not only ion temperature and rotation velocity,but also concentration of carbon. For the case of helium, the measurements for the ion temperature and rotation velocity are straightforward but the apparent concentration associated with the observed CX intensity is obviously too high. Modeling of the active He II CX feature including plume contributions needs to be carried out to extract the true helium *** spectrometer could become a prototype for the ITER charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy diagnostic and the pilot experiments, as presented here, demonstrate the possibility of impurity concentrations measurements based on the combined measurement of local beam emission and charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy spectra.

A Computer-Assisted Method for Depositional Model Determination

A software has been developed to overcome the difficulties related to depositional model determination in Geosciences. The implemented methods, Walker, Harper and Turk methods, based on Markov process and Markov chain analysis, have been used in a case study. The results of the analysis are consistent with previous works. The analysis shows also that the results are accurate and do not rely on the used method. Therefore, the obtained depositional sequence is suitable to build a depositional model on which reliable sequence stratigraphic studies can be based.

A hierarchical system to predict behavior of soil and cantilever sheet wall by data-driven models

The study proposes a framework combining machine learning(ML)models into a logical hierarchical system which evaluates the stability of the sheet wall before other *** study uses the hardening soil(HS)model to develop a 200-sample finite element analysis(FEA)database,to develop the ML ***,a system containing three trained ML models is proposed to first predict the stability status(random forest classification,RFC)followed by 1)the cantilever top horizontal displacement of sheet wall(artificial neural network regression models,RANN1)and 2)vertical settlement of soil(RANN2).The uncertainty of this data-driven system is partially investigated by developing 1000 RFC models,based on the application of random sampling technique in the data splitting *** on the distribution of the evaluation metrics reveals negative skewed data toward the 1.0000 *** implies a high performance of RFC on the database with medians of accuracy,precision,and recall,on test set are 1.0000,1.0000,and 0.92857,*** regression ANN models have coefficient of determinations on test set,as high as 0.9521 for RANN1,and 0.9988 for RANN2,*** parametric study for these regressions is also provided to evaluate the relative insight influence of inputs to output.

Are Small Grazers and/or Viruses a structuring Factor of the Free-Living Bacterial Community in Lake Geneva?

Two experiments were conducted to test whether viruses, small auto- and heterotrophic nanoflagellates were key factors regulating at relatively short-term (4 days) and nearby periods (April vs. May) the bacterial community in surface waters of Lake Geneva. 2.5 L containing polycarbonate bottles were incubated in situ with either μm filtered water with additions of either virus-free water or a viral concentrate. Abundances of viruses, prokaryotes and small autotrophs were obtained each day using flow cytometry, while bacterial richness was assessed using 16S rDNA PCR-DGGE and auto- and heterotrophic flagellates counted with epifluorescence microscopy at t0 and t96. Transmission electron microscopy was also used to assess virus-induced bacterial mortality at the start and the end of the experiments. Cloning-sequencing was applied on PCR products obtained after excision of selected DGGE bands to highlight more specifically the identity of bacteria of interest in the context of the experiment. The autotrophs and grazer presence and/or the virus enrichment resulted in different effects on the structure of the bacterial community and the impact was also different with the period. In May, bacterial structure changes seemed to be related to the impact or influence of the eukaryotes (including nanoflagellate grazers), while viruses might have a higher impact on the bacterial community structure the month before. This study provides new persuasive evidence that the presence of viruses and small eukaryotes are likely to drive bacterial community composition and shifts on the short-term in lacustrine ecosystems. More interestingly, such effects seem to be different between viruses and grazers, the ones sustaining, the others reducing bacterial community composition.

QoS Guided Min—Min Heuristic for Grid Task Scheduling

Task scheduling is an integrated component of computing. With the emergence of Grid and ubiquitous computing, new challenges appear in task scheduling based on properties such as security, quality of service, and lack of central control within distributed administrative domains. A Grid task scheduling framework must be able to deal with these issues. One of the goals of Grid task scheduling is to achieve high system throughput while matching applications with the available computing resources. This matching of resources in a non-deterministically shared heterogeneous environment leads to concerns over Quality of Service (QoS). In this paper a novel QoS guided task scheduling algorithm for Grid computing is introduced. The proposed novel algorithm is based on a general adaptive scheduling heuristics that includes QoS *** algorithm is evaluated within a simulated Grid environment. The experimental results show that the new QoS guided Min-Min heuristic can lead to significant performance gain for a variety of applications. The approach is compared with others based on the quality of the prediction formulated by inaccurate information.
