In this paper effects of various injection molding parameters on tribological properties of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene （UHMWPE） were investigated. The tribological properties like coefficient of friction and wear rate were obtained from the experimental results of hip simulator which was designed and fabricated in the laboratory. Bovine serum was used as a lubricant in this study. In addition, the hardness of the specimen was also investigated as well. The injection molding parameters that varied for this study are melt temperature, injection velocity and compaction time. The results show that contact loads and melt temperature were mostly influenced the tribological behavior of UHMWPE. A wear mechanism map was developed to study the dominant wear mechanism that influences the wear behavior of UHMWPE. SEM was employed to study the worn out morphologies of UHMWPE. The dominant wear mechanisms that are dominated through our study are ironing, scratching, ploughing, plastic deformation, and fatigue wear.

Aromatic polybenzothiazolamides were prepared by low temperature solution method by condensing the 2, 2'-diarnino-6, 6'-bibenzothiazole with four different acid chlorides in quantitative yield. These polymers were characterized by IR and NMR. Viscosities of these polyamides range from 0.42 to 1 dl/gm. All these polymers were stable upto 300℃ in air.

Nano-ceramic particles can serve as reinforcing agents for metallic materials to improve their mechanical ***,it is important to ensure chemical compatibility between the matrix and *** the present study,magnesium composites with and without nano-hydroxyapatite(nHA)particles were fabricated for bone reconstruction *** different techniques were used,Conventional Sintering(CS)of powder compacts and Spark Plasma Sintering(SPS)of pre-compacted *** showed that a 10 wt%addition of nHA particles to magnesium,followed by SPS improved the compression strength by 27%.CS did not lead to any significant improvement compared to SPS processing.X-ray diffraction data after CS revealed the formation of unfavorable phases due to chemical reactions between nHA particles and the magnesium matrix,while these phases were absent after SPS *** mechanical properties of the specimens fabricated by CS were much inferior to those processed using *** shorter processing time associated with SPS leaded to reduced interaction between nHA particles and the Mg-matrix,compared to CS.

Software-defined networking(SDN) has received tremendous attention from both industry and *** centralized control plane in SDN has a global view of the network and can be used to provide more effective solutions for complex problems,such as traffic *** study is motivated by recent advancement in SDN and increasing popularity of multicasting *** propose a technique to increase the resiliency of multicasting in SDN based on the subtree protection *** is a group communication technology,which uses the network infrastructure efficiently by sending the data only once from one or multiple sources to a group of receivers that share a common *** applications,e.g.,live video streaming and video conferencing,become popular,but they are delay-sensitive *** in an ongoing multicast session can cause packet losses and delay,which can significantly affect quality of service(Qo S).In this study,we adapt a subtree-based technique to protect a multicast tree constructed for Open Flow switches in *** proposed algorithm can detect link or node failures from a multicast tree and then determines which part of the multicast tree requires changes in the flow table to recover from the *** a centralized controller in SDN,the backup paths can be created much more effectively in comparison to the signaling approach used in traditional multiprotocol label switching(MPLS) networks for backup paths,which makes the subtree-based protection mechanism *** also implement a prototype of the algorithm in the POX controller and measure its performance by emulating failures in different tree topologies in Mininet.

The substantial vision loss due to Diabetic Retinopathy(DR)mainly damages the blood vessels of the *** feature changes in the blood vessels fail to exist any manifestation in the eye at its initial stage,if this problem doesn’t exhibit initially,that leads to permanent ***,this type of disorder can be only screened and identified through the processing of fundus *** different stages in DR are Micro aneurysms(Ma),Hemorrhages(HE),and Exudates,and the stages in lesion show the chance of *** the advancement of early detection of DR in the eye we have developed the CNN-based identification approach on the fundus blood lesion *** CNN-based automated detection of DR proposes the novel Graph cutter-built background and foreground superpixel segmentation technique and the foremost classification of fundus images feature was done through hybrid classifiers as K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)classifier,Support Vector Machine(SVM)classifier,and Cascaded Rotation Forest(CRF)*** this classifier,the feature cross-validation made the classification more accurate and the comparison is made with the previous works of parameters such as specificity,sensitivity,and accuracy shows that the hybrid classifier attains excellent performance and achieves an overall accuracy of 98%.Among these Cascaded Rotation Forest(CRF)classifier has more accuracy than others.

A cascaded system of electrical discharges (Non-thermal plasma), catalyst andadsorption process was investigated for the removal of oxides of nitrogen (NO_x) and carbonmonoxide (CO) from a Diesel engine raw exhaust. The three processes were separately studied first,and then the cascaded processes, namely plasma-catalyst and plasma-adsorbent, were investigated. Inthis paper main emphasis was laid on the effect of carbonaceous soot oxidation on the plasmatreatment process. While the cascaded plasma-catalyst process exhibits a higher CO removal, thecascaded plasma-adsorbent process exhibits a higher NO_x removal. The experiments were conductedunder no-load. The plasma and adsorbent reactors were kept at room temperature throughout theexperiment while the catalyst reactor was kept at 200℃ / 300℃.

The study investigates the effects of individual and combined additions of gadolinium(Gd)and misch metal(MM)on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-4Al and Mg-9Al *** results show that the additions significantly alter the microstructure and grain size of the base ***-4Al based alloys have globular morphology,whereas Mg-9Al based alloys have dendritic *** addition of alloying elements,Gd and MM,introduces rectangular-shaped Al_(2)Gd phase and needle-shaped Al_(11)RE_(3) phase,*** best mechanical properties at room temperature are shown by Mg-9Al-2Gd alloy with tensile strength and elongation of 214 MPa and 6.0%,respectively,whereas Mg-4Al-2Gd alloy exhibits the best properties at elevated temperature(150℃)with tensile strength and elongation of 172 MPa and 14.0%,*** study also reports the microhardness value of different phases along with the cast *** Mg_(17)Al_(12) phase shows the highest hardness(VHN 92)followed by lamellar Mg17Al12(VHN 83)andα-Mg matrix(VHN 68).
