Validation of LittleEARS questionnaire in Hindi language

Background:Subjective measures of auditory development are equally important as objective measures to obtain a realistic image of the hearing status in infants and ***:The objectives of the current study were to translate and validate the LittleEARS questionnaire into the Hindi language,to calculate its psychometric properties and establish a regression curve of the scores obtained as a function of age,to calculate the inter-test and test retest reliability of the *** secondary objectives were to compare the scores obtained by the normal hearing children and those with hearing impairment and to plot a regression curve of total scores obtained by the hearing-impaired children as a function of the duration of auditory training attended since their first fit of the *** and methods:The procedures involved conventional translation,reverse translation,and content validation before administering the *** translated version was administered to parents of 59 children with normal hearing and 41 children with hearing ***:The finalized version had good reliability and efficient internal consistency with a Cronbach alpha value of *** mean scores obtained by the normal hearing children showed a progressive pattern as a function of ***:The LittleEARS questionnaire has been successfully translated and validated into the Hindi language with excellent validity and reliability and can be used for screening and early identification of hearing impairment and in evaluating the outcome of audiological treatment approaches.

Grid Voltage Sensor-less Protection Scheme for One Cycle-Controlled Single-phase Photovoltaic Inverter Systems

One-cycle-controlled(OCC)inverters are suitable for small single-phase photovoltaic distributed-generator systems because of their simplicity,phase-locked-loop free structure,grid voltage sensor-less operation,and *** voltage sensor-less control helps reduce cost and increases reliability in *** various sensors are used for implementation of a protection *** this paper,a grid voltage sensorless protection scheme for OCC based single-phase inverter systems is *** estimated value of voltage at point of common coupling(VPCC)is used for protecting the system during over/under voltage conditions of the grid,implementing of voltage ride through conditions,and for disconnecting the grid during islanded *** VPCC is estimated from the measured inverter current,switching pulses,and the measured dc-link voltage using a second-order *** and experimental studies are performed to verify the efficacy of the proposed voltage sensor-less protection mechanism triggered using estimated VPCC.

Does a biological link exist between periodontitis and rheumatoid arthritis?

Periodontitis or Periodontal disease(PD) and Rheumatoid arthritis(RA) are two the most common chronic inflammatory diseases. Periodontitis is a biofilm associated destructive inflammatory disease of the periodontium caused by specific microorganisms. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition and is identified by elevated serum autoantibody titre directed against citrullinated peptides or rheumatoid factor. Periodontitis may involve some elements of autoimmunity. Recent studies have established that PD and RA show a common pathway and could be closely associated through a common dysregulation and dysfunction in inflammatory mechanism. The enzyme peptidyl arginine deiminase(PAD), expressed by Porphyromonas gingivalis(P. gingivalis) is responsible for the enzymatic deimination of arginine residuals to citrulline resulting in protein citrullination and its increased accumulation in *** by PAD may act as a putative biologic link between PD and RA. Association of Human leukocytic antigen-DR4 antigen has been established both with RA and PD. Several interleukins and inflammatory mediators(ILs) and Nuclear factor kappa beta ligand are linked to these common chronic inflammatory diseases. Antibodies directed against heat shock protein(hsp 70 ab) of P. gingivalis, P. melanogenicus and P. intermedia are raised in PD as well as RA. Both the conditions share many pathological and immunological similarities. Bacterial infection, genetic susceptibility, altered immune reaction and inflammatory mediators considered responsible for RA are also associated with PD. So it is plausible that a biological link may exist between PD and RA. Therapies aimed at modifying the expression and effect of inflammatory mediators and effector molecules such as matrix metalloproteinases, proinflammatory cytokines and autoantibodies of structural proteins may probably reduce the severity of both RA and PD.

The distinctive characteristic of the photon is that its partonic content can be calculated using leading-order perturbative QED^([1,2]).While our understanding of the photon's parton distributions(PDFs)is now well-established both theoretically and experimentally^([3]),we have less knowledge about its Generalized Parton Distributions(GPDs)and Transverse Momentum Dependent distributions(TMDs).
