BACKGROUND Nutrition recommendations in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)are to consume rye or integral bread instead of white bread.A positive effect on glucoregulation has been achieved by enriching food with various biologically active substances of herbal origin,so we formulated an herbal mixture that can be used as a supplement for a special type of bread(sTB)to achieve better effects on postprandial glucose and insulin levels in patients with *** To compare organoleptic characteristics and effects of two types of bread on postprandial glucose and insulin levels in T2DM *** This trial included 97 patients with T2DM.A parallel group of 16 healthy subjects was also *** participants were given 50 g of rye bread and the same amount of a sTB with an herbal mixture on 2 consecutive *** blood glucose and insulin levels were compared at the 30^(th),60^(th),90^(th) and 120th min.A questionnaire was used for subjective estimation of the organoleptic and satiety features of the two types of *** Compared to patients who consumed rye bread,significantly lower postprandial blood glucose and insulin concentrations were found in T2DM patients who consumed *** relevant differences were found among the healthy *** estimated organoleptic and satiety characteristics are better for sTB than for rye *** sTB have better effects than rye bread on postprandial glucoregulation in T2DM *** estimated organoleptic and satiety characteristics are better for sTB than for rye ***,sTB can be recommended for nutrition in T2DM patients.

Noninvasive and ultra-accurate optical manipulation of nanometer objects has recently gained interest as a powerful tool in nanotechnology and ***-induced back-action(sIBA)trapping in nano-optical cavities has the unique potential for trapping and manipulating nanometer-sized objects under low optical ***,thus far,the existence of the sIBA effect has been shown only indirectly via its enhanced trapping *** this article,we present the first time direct experimental evidence of the self-reconfiguration of the optical potential that is experienced by a nanoparticle trapped in a plasmonic *** observations enable us to gain further understanding of the sIBA mechanism and to determine the optimal conditions for boosting the performances of sIBA-based nano-optical tweezers.

Weighted sum of Gray Gases Model Optimization for Numerical Investigations of Processes inside Pulverized Coal-Fired Furnaces

The effects of the number of significant figures （NsF） in the interpolation polynomial coefficients （IPCs） of the weighted sum of gray gases model （WsGM） on results of numerical investigations and WsGM optimization were investigated. The investigation was conducted using numerical simulations of the processes inside a pulverized coal-fired furnace. The radiative properties of the gas phase were determined using the simple gray gas model （sG）, two-term WsGM （W2）, and three-term WsGM （W3）. Ten sets of the IPCs with the same NsF were formcd for every weighting coefficient in both W2 and W3. The average and maximal relative difference values of the flame temperatures, wall temperatures, and wall heat fluxes were determined. The investigation showed that the results of numerical investigations were affected by the NsF unless it exceeded certain value. The increase in the NsF did not necessarily lead to WsGM optimization. The combination of the NsF （CNsF） was the necessary requirement for WsGM optimization.

The surface quality of solid wood is very important for its effective response in manufacturing processes. The effects of feed rate, cutting depth and rake angle on surface roughness and power consumption were investigated and modeled. Neuro-fuzzy methodology was applied and shown that it could be useful, reliable and an effective tool for modeling the surface roughness of ***, the results of the present research can be successfully applied in the wood industry to reduce time, energy and high experimental costs.

Localized surface plasmon resonance(LsPR)biosensing based on supported metal nanoparticles offers unparalleled possibilities for high-end miniaturization,multiplexing and high-throughput label-free molecular interaction analysis in real time when integrated within an opto-fluidic ***,such LsPR-sensing devices typically contain extremely large regions of dielectric materials that are open to molecular adsorption,which must be carefully blocked to avoid compromising the device *** address this issue,we made the support essentially invisible to the LsPR by carefully removing the dielectric material overlapping with the localized plasmonic fields through optimized *** resulting LsPR substrate,which consists of gold nanodisks centered on narrow siO2 pillars,exhibits markedly reduced vulnerability to nonspecific substrate adsorption,thus allowing,in an ideal case,the implementation of thicker and more efficient passivation *** demonstrate that this approach is effective and fully compatible with state-of-the-art multiplexed real-time biosensing technology and thus represents the ideal substrate design for high-throughput label-free biosensing systems with minimal sample consumption.

Dielectric and infrared properties of srTiO_3 single crystal doped by 3d (V,Mn,Fe,Ni) and 4f (Nd,sm,Er) ions

In this study, the effects of doping by 3d （V, Mn, Fe, Ni） and 4f （Nd, sm, Er） ions on dielectric and infrared properties of srTiO3 （sTO） single crystals are investigated. It is well known that doping of the srTiO3 can change the dielectric properties of the sTO from an insulator to an n-type semiconductor, and even to a metallic conductor. Dielectric and infrared （IR） properties of the undoped sTO and doped sTO single crystals are analyzed using dielectric spectroscopy （80 kHz-5 MHz）, transmission （200 cm^-1-4000 cm^-1）, and reflection spectroscopy （50 cm^-1-2000 cm^-1）. It is found that doping by the 3d ions reduces the value of dielectric permittivity, but the trend of temperature dependence of the dielectric permittivity remains almost unchanged. On the other hand, dielectric spectroscopy measurements for samples doped by 4f ions show the anomalous behaviors of the dielectric permittivity at temperatures around the temperature of the structural phase transition. There are two fractures of temperature dependences of inverse dielectric permittivity εr^-1 （T）. Transmittance spectroscopy measurements show that there are differences in the shape of the spectrum in the mid-IR region between the undoped sTO and the one doped by 4f ions. The differences in the reflectance spectrum between the sTO：Nd and sTO are analyzed in detail.
