Evaluation of the Management Results of Uretero-Pelvic Junction Abnormalities

Objectives: To evaluate therapeutic and prognosis of Uretero-pelvic junction abnomalities. Methods: This article was retrospective and descriptive, covering a period of six months, running from January 1st to December 31st, 2013 and conducted?to evaluate therapeutic and prognosis of Uretero-pelvic junction abnormalities. Included criteria were all patients whose diagnosis was abnormalities of the uretero-pelvic junction and had been confirmed after para clinical explorations. The stricture of the junction after a first kidney surgery did not include. The Creatinine level has considered high from 15 mg/l. Results: The median age was 35 years old. Age groups (30 - 40) years old have predominated in 36.2%. A male predominance had been noted in 62.3% versus 37.7% women. The most affected occupation was the officials in 37.7% of cases. The main reason for consultation was lumbar pain in 97.1%. The high creatinine level has observed in 19 patients (27.5%). Sixty-one patients (88.41%) have been operated. An abstention has been observed in 7 patients (10.14%) and one patient died before the surgical issue in renal failure. The early post-operative course has been uneventful in 78.7% (48 cases) and complicated in 21.3% (21 cases). Conclusions: Open surgery tends to disappear at the expense of the endopyelotomy and laparoscopy which gives best results. However, it is still relevant.

Photovoltaic solar energy is still in its infancy in Burkina Faso, despite the country’s high solar potential. The electricity grid is experiencing an increase in demand for energy, creating a shortfall in supply. The Zagtouli photovoltaic solar power plant in Burkina Faso is the first milestone in the development of renewable photovoltaic energy, with a rated output of 33.6 Megawatts peak, to strengthen the electricity grid by reducing hydrocarbon consumption. The aim of this work is to evaluate the performance of the plant by proposing a performance score for the Zagtouli plant, which should provide a basis for assessing the performance of a power plant. To meet the objectives, we collected data for three consecutive years of production, from 2019 to 2021. From this data, we used the method based on the calculation of the performance indicators specified by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and described in the standardised norms IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) CEI61724, and we also carried out a performance classification using the K-Means method. It is clear that with the results obtained for the PR performance index (over 70%), the installation can be classified as one of the best-performing systems. It also emerges that various losses (temperatures on the panels, cabling, partial shading, spectral losses, dirt, and unexpected inverter failures) have a negative impact on the installation’s energy production.

In this work we study the behaviour of the dielectric constant of BaTiO3 single crystals doped with Cu and Fe for different ion percentages, particularly, the influence of these hetemvalent substitutions on the ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition whose temperature is found at Tc=120℃ for pure samples. The dielectric constant e in terms of temperature shows that the Curie temperature decreases when the quantity of impurities increases and presents a broadening and flattering of the maximum oft（T） within higher values, with the transition becoming more and more diffuse. It is interesting to have a material with very high permittivity （high-k） because of its capacity to store an important quantity of electric charges. The t anisotropy and the Curie-Weiss law are also verified with a good ratio between the slopes ofε^-l（T） from both sides of the transition, leading to a Curie constant： C= 13 × 10^4 K for BaTiO3：1.6%Fe in the polar phase. BaTiO3 is a displacive ferroelectric going through a first-order phase transition. The substitutions have an effect on the dynamics of the perovskite lattice. They induce charges transfer to Ti and a diminution of elastic forces in BaTiO3. Uterine perforation is a serious complication after insertion of an intrauterine device (IUD). We report the case of a 34-year-old woman receiving in consultation for abdominal pain. In the interrogation there was a notion of IUD insertion for about a week. The gynecological examination did not find the thread of IUD and the ultrasound performed did not visualize an IUD. Radiography of the abdomen without preparation highlighted a compatible intrapelvic foreign thing like an IUD. The diagnosis of pelvic inflammatory disease by uterine perforation by an IUD was thus retained. We suggest in case of suspicion of uterine radio paque IUD perforation achieving radiography when the abdominal pelvic ultrasound is normal.

Objective: To evidence the ability of ethanol fruit extract from Detarium microcarpum(D. microcarpum) to preserve DNA integrity against oxidative genomic ***: Ethanol extract from D. microcarpum fruit pulp was analyzed for its antioxidant capacity using ferric reducing antioxidant power, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl,2,20-azinobis-3-ethyl-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonate, superoxide anion, deoxyribose degradation and lipid peroxidation models. The genoprotective activity was assessed ex vivo by comet assay, on liver cells of NMRI female mice using cyclophosphamide(CP) as genotoxic ***: Ethanol extract from D. microcarpum fruit pulp exhibited interesting antioxidant activity in 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, deoxyribose degradation and lipid peroxidation assays. The extract did not present any genotoxic effect but protected DNA against CP-induced damages with a dose-dependent manner. The genoprotective effect observed was related to the antioxidant molecules of the fruit that scavenged the hydroxyl radical(generated by the metabolism of CP) as well as the peroxyl and alkoxyl radicals issued from lipid peroxidation. Other mechanisms such as inactivation of CP metabolism to genotoxic end products, induction of the expression of antioxidant and DNA repair enzymes have been ***: Our results suggest that the wild edible fruit from D. microcarpum could be beneficial on consumer's health by its antioxidant and genoprotective effects, particularly during chemotherapies exhibiting genotoxic effects like CP in cancer treatment.

This study aims to show the aptitude of a locally made composite for providing thermal comfort and mechanical resistance in buildings in hot-dry *** thermal characterization reveals that the thermal diffusivity of the studied material is lower than that of commonly used materials such as agglomerated and full cinderblocks and laterite blocks and therefore is a better insulating *** addition,its thermal inertia is the highest compared to commonly used materials of agglomerated and full cinderblocks,laterite blocks and compressed earth blocks,which implies a longer time *** the basis of mechanical resistance,with a compression resistance of 3.61 MPa,the studied material meets the requirement of CRATerre and NBF 02-003(2009)as a material for construction of single-storey ***,this material,containing 1%Hibiscus sabdariffa fibers and compacted by vibration,is a suitable material for the walls of standing buildings and for thermal comfort in hot dry climates.

Maxillary Osteitis in the Yalgado ouedraogo Teaching Hospital: Epidemiological, Clinical and Therapeutic Aspects

Purpose: Report the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic aspects of maxillary osteitis. Material and Methods: This was a descriptive, cross-sectional retrospective study carried out in the Department of Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Yalgado ouedraogo Teaching Hospital, covering a period of 7 years. Results: We registered 68 cases of maxillary osteitis with an annual hospital frequency of 9.71 cases. The mean age was 27.5 years +/-4.02 with extremes of 4 years and 72 years. Farmers/herders were the most concerned in 67.65% of the cases. Reasons for consultation were dominated by swelling of the cheek in 79.41% of cases. The average time to consultation was 7 months. Tooth decays and dental avulsions were mostly implicated in etiologies in 79.41% of the cases. Treatment provided was medical and surgical. All patients received antibiotic therapy. Surgical treatment involved 51.47% of patients. The evolution was favorable in 89.70% of the patients. Sequelae were found in 58.82% of the patients. Conclusion: Maxillary osteitis is common in our regions. Treatment is medical and surgical. It is marked by many difficulties, especially the delay in consultation.

Testicular Seminoma and Peritonitis about One Case at the Yalgado ouedraogo University Hospital of Ouagadougou

Introduction: Testicular seminoma is a highly lymphophilic germ cell tumor. It is the most common germ cell tumor in young adults. We are reporting one case of testicular seminoma complicated with an acute generalized peritonitis (AGP), in order to describe the circumstances of diagnosis and discuss about treatment. Observation: It involved a 39-year-old patient, admitted for vague abdominal pains that were evolving since 72 hours with a history of right orchiectomy because of testicular seminoma in 2011. The analysis revealed a peritoneal syndrome, a right inguinal lymphadenopathy of 10 cm diameter and an empty right scrotum. The exploration revealed fistulized necrotic retro-peritoneal lymphadenopathies in the peritoneal cavity and ileal perforation on contact with these lymphadenopathies. necrosectomy and ileal resections were performed. After the operation, the scanner revealed a conglomeration of retro-peritoneal adenomegalies extending to the right femoral region associated with bilateral pleurisy. The β-HCG and the LDH were 8000 IU/L and 24,500 IU/L, respectively. The seminoma was ranked T3N3M1. The immediate post-operative care was uneventful. The patient was lost from sight for a month and was readmitted in a context of alteration of his general condition. He died before the end of the pre-chemotherapeutic assessment. Conclusion: Scrotal mass is the usual way of revelation of testicular seminoma. In poorly followed-up cases, exceptional complications such as peritonitis may occur and are direct consequences of poor prognosis.
