The stability problems of the exponential （functional） equation on a restricted domain will be investigated, and the results will be applied to the study of an asymptotic property of that equation. More precisely, the following asymptotic property is proved： Let X be a real （or complex） normed space. A mapping f ： X → C is exponential if and only if f（x ＋ y） - f（x）f（y） → 0 as ｜｜x｜｜＋｜｜y｜｜ → ∞ under some suitable conditions.

Angiolipoma, a common benign tumor mostly seen in the subcutaneous tissue, is a rare pathological condition in the gastrointestinal tract that is usually diagnosed postoperatively. In this case report, an angiolipoma was diagnosed preoperatively by imaging （including CT scans, abdominal echo, barium enema, and colonoscopy）. This pathology was confirmed postoperatively. Computed tomography scan, abdominal echo, and barium enema images were presented.

AIM To evaluate the safety and efficacy of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF) as a first-line therapy in decompensated liver disease. METHODS We enrolled 174 chronic hepatitis B-related liver cirrhosis patients treated with 300 mg/d TDF at six Korean centers. Of the 174 cirrhosis patients, 57 were assigned to the decompensated cirrhosis group and 117 were assigned to the compensated cirrhosis group. We followed the patients for 12 mo and evaluated clinical outcomes, including biochemical, virological, and serological responses. We also evaluated changes in hepatic and renal function and compared the decompensated and compensated cirrhosis groups. RESULTS The 1-year complete virological response(CVR) and Hepatitis B e antigen(HBe Ag) seroconversion were seen in 70.2% and 14.2% in the decompensated cirrhosis group, respectively. The rates of HBe Ag seroconversion/loss and ALT normalization at month 12 were similar in both groups. TDF treatment was also effective for decreasing the level of hepatitis B virus(HBV) DNA in both groups, but CVR was higher in the compensated group(88.9% vs 70.2%, P = 0.005). Tenofovir treatment for 12 mo resulted in improved Child-Turcotte-Pugh(CTP) and model for end-stage liver disease(MELD) scores in decompensated group(P < 0.001). Of the 57 decompensated patients, 39(68.4%) achieved CTP class A and 27(49.1%) showed improvement in the CTP score of 2 points after 12 mo of TDF. The observed rate of confirmed 0.5 mg/d L increases in serum levels of creatinine in the decompensated and compensated cirrhosis group were 7.0% and 2.5%, respectively(P < 1.000).CONCLUSION TDF therapy in decompensated cirrhosis patients was effective for decreasing HBV DNA levels and improving hepatic function with relatively lower CVR than in compensated cirrhosis. Thus, physicians should carefully monitor not only renal function but also treatment responses when using TDF in decompensated cirrhosis patients.

An eigen analysis of the equatorial air—sea coupled model is carried out to understand the mechanism of the slowly varying mode for various zonal phase differences between SST and wind stress. The frequency and growth rate of the slow mode highly depend on the zonal phase difference between SST and wind stress anomalies and the wave scale. For ultra—long waves longer than 20,000 km, the system propagates westward regardless of the position of wind stress. However, for the long waves observed in the Pacific, the slow mode tends to propagate eastward when the SST and wind stress anomalies are close to each other (within a quadrature phase relationship). On the other hand, when the wind stress is located far away from SST, the slow mode tends to propagate westward. The coupled system produces the unstable modes when the westerly (easterly) wind stress is located in the west of warm (cold) SST. It is noted that for the Pacific basin scale, the eastward propagating unstable waves can be produced when the wind stress is located to the west of SST with a few thousand kilometer distance. Also examined in the present study is the relative role of the thermocline displacement and zonal advection effects in determining the propagation and instability of the coupled system. Acute pancreatitis during pregnancy is a rare event,and can be associated with high maternal mortality and fetal *** disease is thought to be the most common causative factor of acute pancreatitis,but,in many cases,the cause remains *** report a case of a 36-year-old woman at 35 wk of gestation,who presented with severe pain confined to the upper abdomen and radiating to the *** patient was diagnosed with acute idiopathic pancreatitis,which was managed conservatively;she recovered within several days and then delivered a healthy *** it is important to consider acute pancreatitis when a pregnant woman presents with upper abdominal pain,nausea and vomiting in order to improve fetal and maternal outcomes for patients with acute pancreatitis.

Distributed Coordinator Election Scheme for QoS Support and Seamless Connectivity in WPANs

Wireless personal area networks （WPANs） are formed in a relatively small area, and coordinator that serves as a central control device plays an important role in the operation and organization of a piconet. Typical applications of WPANs include home automation systems, security systems and health monitoring systems. In these types of systems, guaranteeing seamless connectivity is very important, and communications cannot take place when the coordinator malfunctions. Thus, in the case of a breakdown, it is necessary to elect a new coordinator as soon as possible. For this reason, a distributed coordinator election scheme （DCES） is proposed that considers not only QoS support but also network connectivity in an effort to avoid possible network partition. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can elect a new coordinator while maintaining QoS and guaranteeing connectivity for a limited period.

A simple,rapid,accurate,precise and robust HPLC method was developed for the simultaneous determination of fimasartan and amlodipine in tablet dosage ***,stability of active ingredients was evaluated under normal and stress *** isocratic elution was accomplished by Nucleosil C18 column(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 mm)at 40℃.The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile and 0.02 M monopotassium phosphate buffer(pH 2.2)in the ratio of 50:50(v/v)was eluted at 1.0 ml/*** eluent was monitored by the UV detector for fimasartan and amlodipine at 237 nm for 8 min,detection *** validation of HPLC method was carried out in accordance with the ICH guidelines.

We propose a new multipurpose audio watermarking scheme in which two complementary watermarks are used. For audio copyright protection, the watermark data with copyright information or signature are first encrypted by Arnold transforma- tion. Then the watermark data are inserted in the low frequency largest significant discrete cosine transform （DCT） coefficients to obtain robustness performance. For audio authentication, a chaotic signal is inserted in the high frequency insignificant DCT coefficients to detect tampered regions. Furthermore, the synchronization code is embedded in the audio statistical characteristics to resist desynchronization attacks. Experimental results show that our proposed method can not only obtain satisfactory detection and tampered location, but also achieve imperceptibility and robustness to common signal processing attacks, such as cropping, shifting, and time scale modification （TSM）. Comparison results show that our method outperforms some existing methods.

In this study, the seismic fragility curves of two reinforced concrete（RC） columns that were lap-spliced at the bottom and retrofitted with steel wrapping jackets were generated. Their seismic performance was probabilistically assessed in comparison to that of lap-spliced or continuous reinforcement RC columns. This study used two types of steel wrapping jackets, a full jacket and a split jacket. Analytical models of the four types of columns were developed based on the experimental results of the columns using Open SEES, which is effective in conducting nonlinear time history analyses. A suite of ten artificial ground motions, modified from recorded ground motions, was used to perform nonlinear time history analyses of the analytical models with scaling of the peak ground acceleration from 0.1 g to 1.0 g in increments of 0.1 g. The steel wrapping jackets did not increase the medians for yield（slight damage state） of the lap-spiced column and did not exceed the corresponding median of the continuous reinforcement column. However, the two steel jackets increased the medians for failure by 1.872 and 2.017 times, respectively, and exceeded the corresponding median of the continuous reinforcement column by 11.8% and 20.5%, respectively.
