Background: Controlled-release oxycodone/naloxone(OXN-CR) maintains the effect of opioid-induced analgesia through oxycodone while reducing the occurrence rate of opioid-induced constipation through naloxone. The present study was designed to assess the non-inferiority of OXN-CR to controlled-release oxycodone(OX-CR) for the control of cancer-related pain in Korean ***: In this randomized, open-labeled, parallel-group, phase IV study, we enrolled patients aged 20 years or older with moderate to severe cancer-related pain [numeric rating scale(NRS) pain score ≥4] from seven Korean oncology/hematology centers. Patients in the intention-to-treat(ITT) population were randomized(1:1) to OXNCR or OX-CR groups. OXN-CR was administered starting at 20 mg/10 mg per day and up-titrated to a maximum of80 mg/40 mg per day for 4 weeks, and OX-CR was administered starting at 20 mg/day and up-titrated to a maximum of 80 mg/day for 4 *** primary efficacy endpoint was the change in NRS pain score from baseline to week4, with non-inferiority margin of-1.5. Secondary endpoints included analgesic rescue medication intake, patientreported change in bowel habits, laxative intake, quality of life(QoL), and safety ***: Of the ITT population comprising 128 patients, 7 with missing primary efficacy data and 4 who violated the eligibility criteria were excluded from the efficacy analysis. At week 4, the mean change in NRS pain scores was not significantly different between the OXN-CR group(n = 58) and the OX-CR group(n = 59)(-1.586 vs.-1.559,P = 0.948). The lower limit of the one-sided 95% confidence interval(-0.776 to 0.830) for the difference exceeded the non-inferiority margin(P < 0.001). The OXN-CR and OX-CR groups did not differ significantly in terms of analgesic rescue medication intake, change in bowel habits, laxative intake, QoL, and safety ***: OXN-CR was non-inferior to OX-CR in terms of pain reduction after 4 weeks of treatmen

To attain a circular carbon economy and resolve CO_(2) electroreduction technology obstacles,single‐atom catalysts(SACs)have emerged as a logical option for electrocatalysis because of their extraordinary catalytic *** SACs,metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)have been recognized as promising support materials because of their exceptional ability to prevent metal *** study shows that atomically dispersed Ni single atoms on a precisely engineered MOF nanosheet display a high Faradaic efficiency of approximately 100% for CO formation in H‐cell and three‐compartment microfluidic flow‐cell reactors and an excellent turnover frequency of 23,699 h^(−1),validating their intrinsic catalytic *** results suggest that crystallographic variations affect the abundant vacancy sites on the MOF nanosheets,which are linked to the evaporation of Zn‐containing organic linkers during ***,using X‐ray absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations,a comprehensive investigation of the unsaturated atomic coordination environments and the underlying mechanism involving CO^(*) preadsorbed sites as initial states was possible and provided valuable insights.

AIM： To examine surgical specimens of pancreas with either chronic pancreatitis or pancreatic cancer in order to study whether ductal hyperplasia and dysplasia in pancreas represent precursor lesions for pancreatic cancer. METHODS： We examined expression of Ki-67, CEA, p53, and K-ras, in the surgical specimens of pancreas with adenocarcinomas （n = 11） and chronic pancreatitis （n = 12）. Cellular proliferation was assessed by Ki-67 proliferation index using the proliferation marker Ki-67. In specimens with pancreas cancer, we divided pancreas epithelium into normal （n = 7）, ductal hyperplasia （n = 3）, dysplasia （n = 4）, and cancerous lesion （n = 11） after hematoxylin and eosin staining, Ki-67, and CEA immunohistochemical staining. In cases with chronic pancreatitis, the specimen was pathologically examined as in cases with pancreas cancer, and they were also determined as normal （n = 10）, ductal hyperplasia （n = 4）, or dysplasia （n = 5）. p53 and K-ras expression were also studied by immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS： In pancreatic cancer, the Ki-67 index was 3.73±3.58 in normal site, 6.62±4.39 in ductal hyperplasia, 13.47：1：4.02 in dysplasia and 37.03±10.05 in cancer tissue, respectively. Overall, p53 was positive in normal ducts, ductal hyperplasia, dysplasia, and carcinoma cells in 0 of 14 （0%）, 0 of 7 （0%）, 7 of 9 （78%）, and 10 of 11 （91%）, respectively, and K-ras was positive in 0 of 8 （0%）, 1 of 3 （33%）, 4 of 6 （67%）, 4 of 5 （80%）, respectively. CONCLUSION： Our results favorably support the hypothesis that ductal hyperplasia and dysplasia of the pancreas might be precursor lesions for pancreas cancer. Further evaluation of oncogenes by the molecular study is needed.

Acupuncture for Bell's Palsy:A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Objective： To assess the clinical evidence for and against acupuncture as a treatment for Bell＇s palsy. Methods： We conducted a literature search of 15 databases from their inception to December 2010 without language restrictions. We included all randomized clinical trials （RCTs） regardless of their controls. Methodological quality was evaluated using the Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool. Results： Of the 3 474 articles, only eight RCTs met our inclusion criteria. Four RCTs tested the effects of acupuncture against drug therapy on disease response rate. The meta-analysis of these data showed significant improvements in the acupuncture group [n=463, risk ratio （RR）=1.07, 95% CI： 1.02 to 1.13; P=0.006, I^2=0%]. Six RCTs tested the effects of acupuncture plus drug therapy versus drug therapy alone. The meta-analysis of this set of RCTs also showed the favorable effects of acupuncture on disease response rate （n=512, RR=1.11, 95% CI： 1.05 to 1.17; P=0.001, I^2=13%）. Conclusions： The evidence supporting the effectiveness of acupuncture for treating Bell＇s palsy is limited. The number and quality of trials are too low to form firm conclusions. Further rigorous RCTs are warranted but need to overcome the many limitations of the current evidence.

As one of conducting polymers,PEDOT:PSS,is commonly used in organic electronics,especially for bioelectronics due to its advantages such as high electrical and ionic conductivity,solution-processability and *** bioelectronics with the PEDOT:PSS requires advanced techniques to obtain physical/chemical modification of the PEDOT:PSS for improved performance and various *** satisfy these demands,fibrillary gelation of PEDOT:PSS by injection to choline acetate,an ionic liquid,with a constant flow rate was used in this study to make a conductive fiber and improve characteristics of PEDOT:*** fibers by fibrillary gelation showed enhanced electrical conductivity of about 400 S cm^(-1) and volumetric capacitance of about 154 F cm^(−3) which would be strongly beneficial to be utilized for organic electrochemical transistors(OECTs),resulting in a high transconductance of 19 mS in a ***,dedoping of the conductive fibers by PEI(polyethyleneimine)enabled the creation of enhancement-mode *** inverters were then fabricated by connecting depletion and enhancement-mode *** results demonstrate that these conductive fibers and electronic-textiles are suitable candidates for applications in bio-integrated electronics.
