Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Vulva: Case Report and Literature Review

Background: Neuroendocrine neoplasms are those that develop from a neuroendocrine cell. They most commonly affect the lungs, gastrointes.inal tract, and pancreas, being rare conditions in the female genital tract. When pres.nt, thes. neoplasms often manifes. with nonspecific signs and symptoms such as pain, itching, swelling, single-focus les.ons, bleeding, and enlargement of inguinal lymph nodes. in addition to the pres.nce of progres.ively enlarging vulvar nodules. Consequently, the diagnostic inves.igation involves.histopathological examination and confirmation through immunohistochemistry. Objective: To pres.nt a comprehensive understanding of this rarely studied pathology. The primary objective is to provide valuable insights that could aid in the future development of universally applicable treatment guidelines. Case Pres.ntation: A 57-year-old female, with no prior comorbidities. menopause at 36, who pres.nted with a left vulvar nodule accompanied by intense pain and swelling, later diagnosed with small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma in the vulva. Conclusion: This case report highlights the importance of enhancing our knowledge regarding small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma in the vulva, given its scarcity in medical literature. The information pres.nted here underscores.the need for standardized diagnostic and treatment approaches. paving the way for future consensus on managing this uncommon but challenging neoplasm.

managing inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)during the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has been a challenge faced by clinicians and their patients,es.ecially concerning whether to proceed with biologics and immunosuppres.ive agents in the background of a global outbreak of a highly contagious new coronavirus(severe acute res.iratory syndrome coronavirus 2,SARS-CoV-2).The knowledge about the impact of this virus on patients with IBD,although it is still scarce,is rapidly *** particular,concerns surrounding medications’impact for IBD on the risk of acquiring SARS-CoV-2 infection or developing COVID-19,and potentially exacerbate viral replication and the COVID-19 course,are a current thinking of both practicing clinicians and providers caring for patients with *** patients with IBD infected with SARS-CoV-2 depends on both the clinical activity of the IBD and the occasional development and severity of *** this review,we summarize the current data regarding gastrointes.inal involvement by SARS-CoV-2 and pharmacologic and surgical management for IBD concerning this infection,and the COVID-19 impact on both the patient's psychological functioning and endoscopy services.and we concisely summarize the telemedicine roles.during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The relationships between climate conditions and wood density in tropical fores.s are still poorly *** quantify spatial dependence of wood density in the state of minas Gerais(mG,Brazil),map spatial distribution of density,and correlate density with climate variables.we extracted data from the Fores. Inventory of minas Gerais for 1988 trees.scaled throughout the territory and measured wood density of discs removed from the *** variables.were extracted from the database of the Ecological-Economic Zoning of minas *** spatial analysis,tree densities.were measured at 44 georeferenced sampling *** data were subjected to exploratory analysis,variography,cross-validation,model selection,and ordinary *** relationships between wood density and environmental variables.were calculated using dispersion matrices.linear correlation,and *** density proved to be highly spatially dependent,reaching a correlation of 96%,and was highly continuous over a distance of 228 *** distribution of wood density followed a continuous gradient of 514-659 kg m^(−3),enabling corre-lation with environment *** was correlated with mean annual precipitation(−0.57),temperature(0.63),and evapotranspiration(0.83).Geostatistical methods proved useful in predicting wood density in native tropical fores.s with different climate *** res.lts confirmed the sensitivity of wood density to climate change,which could affect future carbon stock in fores.s.

The complete and incomplete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were measured using the in-beamγ-ray method around the Coulomb *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incomplete fusion(ICF)products were re-quantified experimentally for this reaction *** res.lts reveal that the ICF cross section is equivalent to that of complete fusion(CF)above the Coulomb barrier and dominant near or below the Coulomb barrier.A theoretical calculation based on the continuum discretized coupled channel(CDCC)method was performed for the aforementioned CF and ICF cross sections;the res.lt is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also compared with the measured CF cross section for different barrier parameters,demonstrating that the CF suppres.ion factor is significantly influenced by the choice of potential,which can reflect both dynamic and static effects of breakup on the fusion proces..
