Over the past few decades,genetic selection and refined nutritional management have extensively been used to increase the growth rate and lean meat production of ***,the rapid growth rates of modern breeds are often accompanied by a reduction in intramuscular fat deposition and increased occurrences of muscle abnor‑malities,impairing meat quality and processing *** stages of animal development set the long‑term growth trajectory of ***,due to the seasonal reproductive cycles of ruminant livestock,gestational nutrient deficiencies caused by seasonal variations,frequent droughts,and unfavorable geological locations nega‑tively affect fetal development and their subsequent production efficiency and meat ***,enrolling live‑stock in nutritional intervention strategies during gestation is effective for improving the body composition and meat quality of the offspring at *** crucial early developmental stages include embryonic,fetal,and postnatal stages,which have stage‑specific effects on subsequent offspring development,body composition,and meat *** review summarizes contemporary research in the embryonic,fetal,and neonatal development,and the impacts of maternal nutrition on the early development and programming effects on the long‑term growth performance of *** the developmental and metabolic characteristics of skeletal muscle,adipose,and fibrotic tissues will facilitate the development of stage‑specific nutritional management strategies to optimize production efficiency and meat quality.

Biocatalytic enhancement of laccase immobilized on ZnFe_(2)O_(4) nanoparticles and its application for degradation of textile dyes

Efficient and convenient treatment of industrial dyeing wastewater is of great significance to guarantee human and animal *** work presented the enhanced catalytic activity at pH 3.0 of laccase immobilized on amino-functionalized ZnFe_(2)O_(4) nanoparticles(ZnFe_(2)O_(4)-laccase)and its application for the degradation of textile *** to the existence of a large number of oxygen vacancies on the surface of the ZnFe_(2)O_(4) nanoparticles,negative ions accumulated on the magnetic carriers,which resulted in a harsh optimal pH value of the ZnFe_(2)O_(4)-*** activity assays revealed that the ZnFe_(2)O_(4)-laccase possessed superior pH and thermal stabilities,excellent reusability,and noticeable organic solvent ***,the ZnFe_(2)O_(4) laccase presented efficient and sustainable degradation of high concentrations of textile *** initial decoloration efficiencies of malachite green(MG),brilliant green(BG),azophloxine,crystal violet(CV),reactive blue 19(RB19),and procion red MX-5B were approximately 99.1%,95.0%,93.3%,87.4%,86.1%,and 85.3%,*** 10 consecutive reuses,the degradation rates of the textile dyes still maintained about 98.2%,92.5%,83.2%,81.5%,79.8%and 65.9%,*** excellent dye degradation properties indicate that the ZnFe_(2)O_(4)-laccase has a technical application in high concentrations of dyestuff treatment.

Preparation and properties of ZrO_(2)-strengthened porous mullite insulation materials using Y_(2)O_(3) additive

ZrO_(2)-strengthened porous mullite insulation materials were prepared by foaming technology utilizing ZrSiO_(4) and Al_(2)O_(3) as primary materials and Y_(2)O_(3) as an *** effects of Y_(2)O_(3) contents on the phase composition,microstructure,mechanical properties,and heat conductivity of the porous mullite insulation materials were investigated.A suitable Y_(2)O_(3) content could promote phase transition of monoclinic ZrO_(2)(m-ZrO_(2))to tetragonal ZrO_(2)(t-ZrO_(2)),reduce pore size,and improve the strengths of as-prepared *** cold crushing strength and bending strength of as-prepared specimens with a 119µm spherical pore size using 6 wt.%Y_(2)O_(3) were 35.2 and 13.0 MPa,respectively,with a heat conductivity being only 0.248 W/(m K).

Monitoring Surface Water Change in Northeast China in 1999–2020:Evidence from Satellite Observation and Refined Classification

As a typical region with high water demand for agricultural production,understanding the spatiotemporal surface water changes in Northeast China is critical for water resources management and sustainable ***,the long-term variation characteristics of surface water of different water body types in Northeast China remain rarely *** study investigated how surface water bodies of different types(e.g.,lake,reservoir,river,coastal aquaculture,marsh wetland,ephemeral water) changed during1999–2020 in Northeast China based on various remote sensing-based *** results showed that surface water in Northeast China grew dramatically in the past two decades,with an equivalent area increasing from 24 394 km^(2) in 1999 to 34 595 km^(2) in *** surge of ephemeral water is the primary driver of surface water expansion,which could ascribe to shifted precipitation *** wetlands,rivers,and reservoirs experienced a similar trend,with an approximate 20% increase at the interdecadal *** contrast,coastal aquacultures and natural lakes remain relatively *** study is expected to provide a more comprehensive investigation of the surface water variability in Northeast China and has important practical significance for the scientific management of different types of surface water.

Integrated interconnected porous and lamellar structures realized fast ion/electron conductivity in high-performance lithium-sulfur batteries

The practical application of high-energy-density lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have been highly praised for energy storage devices,while are largely hindered by the“shuttling effect”.Herein,core-shell carbon spheres composed of interlinked porous core and lamellar shell were designed to restrain the polysulfide *** microporous structure with pore size of around 1 nm effectively trap lithium ***,the interconnected porous core shortens the ion transfer distance and the lamellar carbon shell endows the carbon spheres with fast electron conduction,finally facilitating polysulfide conversion ***,the Li-S batteries with the carbon spheres as the interlayer show high discharge specific capacity of 1002 m ah/g at 2 C with 574 m ah/g remaining after 600 cycles,and high areal capacity of 5.48 m ah/cm^(2) with sulfur loading of 4.67 mg/cm^(2) at 0.1 *** corresponding pouch cells also exhibit stable cycling stability with an initial discharge specific capacity of 1082 m ah/g at 0.1 C.

New insights into the effect of hard carbons microstructure on the diffusion of sodium ions into closed pores

Closed pores formed in hard carbons play an essential role in sodium storage at plateau ***,the effect of different structural features on the diffusion of sodium ions into closed pores remains ***,a precursor reconstruction strategy is conducted to regulate carbon microstructures including interlayer spacing,defect concentration,and closed pore volume by changing the ratio of aromatic and polysaccharide *** structure parts tend to develop disordered carbons with fewer defects,larger interlayer spacing,and smaller closed pore volume,while polysaccharide components prefer to form disordered carbons with more defects,smaller interlayer spacing,and larger closed pore *** the correlation analysis of microstructure features and the sodium storage capacity below 0.1 *** finds that the intercalation capacity is proportional to the ratio of pseudo-graphitic domains,whereas the pore filling capacity appeared at lower potential gradually decreases with the increasing defect concentration due to homo-ionic repulsion effect,without linear correlation with shortrange microcrystalline and closed pore *** optimized sample with suitable interlayer spacing and defect concentration exhibits a high plateau capacity of 241.7 m ah/*** work provides insights into the exploitation of closed pore sodium storage performance.

To the Editor:Anterior chamber(AC)paracentesis is a commonly performed procedure to lower intraocular pressure(IOP),and to sample aqueous humor(ah)for clinical and research *** suggested by an international collaboration team,an immediately performed AC paracentesis before an intravitreal injection can also prevent post-injection IOP spike.[1]While IOP could immediately be reduced by AC paracentesis,the procedure of obtaining an ah sample(liquid biopsy)is more *** methods have been developed to facilitate ah collection and transfer,[2-7]among which a vacuum-based ah collector(SnovoDahC I-50,Sightnovo Medical Technology Co.,Beijing,China)has better performance than the commonly used insulin syringe in accurate sampling of about 50μL ah in rabbits by one hand.[7]The current clinical trial aimed to evaluate the performance and safety of this product in human subjects.

Visible light promoted aerobic selective photo-oxidation of cyclohexene on LaCo_(x)Cu_(1−x)O_(3) catalyst

Heterogeneously catalyzed liquid oxidation of olefins with O_(2) provides an alternative way for synthesizing high-value added ***,we report a straightforward urea-redox and sol-gel process for synthesizing LaCo_(x)Cu_(1−x)O_(3) for aerobic photooxidation of *** research highlights a marked increase in the proportions of Co^(2+) and Cu+species in a low chemical state,as well as enhanced visible light absorption through this *** investigations suggest that the catalytic process,particularly with LaCo_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(3),involves a radical pathway mediated by reactive oxygen *** presence of Cu+/Co^(2+) species and surface oxygen vacancies is proposed to boost O_(2) adsorption and activation on the catalyst,facilitating the formation of ***,Cu^(2+)/Co^(3+) species are thought to aid in generating cyclohexenederived radical *** efficient aerobic oxidation of cyclohexene on LaCo_(0.7)Cu_(0.3)O_(3) catalyst relies on the formation of reactive oxygen species and carbon radicals,facilitated by its strong visible light *** achieves a cyclohexene conversion of 89.4% and selectivity to cyclohex-2-ene-1-one of 72.2%,along with stable recyclability after six *** creation of nano-structured LaCo_(x)Cu_(1−x)O_(3) through the urea-redox and sol-gel process offers a promising avenue for the development of highly efficient catalysts for the aerobic photo-oxidation of cyclohexene to cyclohex-2-ene-1-one in the future.

Photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue over MIL-100(Fe)/GO composites: a performance and kinetic study

Interfacial/bulk synergetic effects accelerating charge transferring for advanced lithium-ion capacitors

The exploration of advanced materials through rational structure/phase design is the key to develop highperformance lithium-ion capacitors(LICs).However,high complexity of material preparation and difficulty in quantity production largely hinder the further ***,Cu_(5)FeS_(4-x)/C(CFS@C)heterojunction with rich sulfur vacancies has successfully achieved from natural bornite,presenting low costeffective and bulk-production *** functional theory(DFT)calculations indicate that rich vacancies in bulk phase can decrease band gap of bornite and thus improve its intrinsic electron conductivity,as well as the heterojunction spontaneously evokes a built-in electric field between its interfacial region,largely reducing the migration barrier from 1.27 e V to 0.75 e *** from these merits,the CFS@C electrodes deliver outperformed lithium storage performance,e.g.,high reversible capacity(822.4m ah/g at 0.1 A/g),excellent cycling stability(up to 820 cycles at 2 A/g and 540 cycles at 5 A/g with respective capacity retention of over or nearly 100%).With CFS@C as anode and porous carbon nanosheets(PCS)as cathode,the assembled CFS@C//PCS LIC full cells exhibit high energy/power density characteristics of 139.2 Wh/kg at 2500 W/*** work is expected to offer significant insights into structure modifications/devising toward natural minerals for advanced energy-storage systems.
