Fungal endophytes are receiving increasing attention as resources to improve crop production and ecosystem ***,the biology and ecological significance of these symbionts remains poorly understood,due to a lack of model systems for more efficient *** this work,we have analyzed the culturable endophytic mycobiota associated,in the wild,with leaves and siliques of the model plant *** have studied the effect of biotic and abiotic factors in the frequency of fungal endophytes in plant specimens,and in the species composition of the endophytic *** results indicate that the frequency of Arabidopsis plants hosting endophytes depends on the time of the year and the phenological stage of the plant,and that the probability of endophyte colonization increases as the life cycle of the plant *** diversity of the endophytic assemblages of natural *** populations was high,and precipitation and temperature were the two main factors determining the diversity and species composition of the *** propose *** and its endophytes as a model system for an integral approach to the principles governing the endophytic lifestyle,taking advantage of the molecular tools and the abundant knowledge accessible from the host plant.

nylon 6-cellulose composite hosted in a hypodermic needle: Biofluid extraction and analysis by ambient mass spectrometry in a single device

This study proposes a hypodermic needle(Hn)as a sorbent holder and an electrospray(ESI)emitter,thus combining extraction and analysis in a single device.A novel nylon 6-cellulose(n6-Cel)composite sorbent is proposed to extract methadone from oral fluid *** cellulosic substrate provides the composite with high porosity,permitting the flow-through of the sample,while the polyamide contributes to the extraction of the *** low price of the devices(considering the holder and the sorbent)contributes to the affordability of the method,and their small size allows easy transportation,opening the door to on-site *** the optimum conditions,the analyte can be determined by high-resolution ambient ionization mass spectrometry at a limit of detection(LOD)as low as 0.3 mg/L and precision(expressed as relative standard deviation,RSD)better than 9.3%.The trueness,expressed as relative recovery(RR),ranged from 90%to 109%.As high-resolution mass spectrometers are not available in many laboratories,the method was also adapted to low-resolution *** this sense,the direct infusion of the eluates in a triple quadrupole-mass spectrometry provided an LOD of 2.2 mg/*** RSD was better than 5.3%,and the RR ranged from 96%to 121%.

Phosphorus(P)is a vital nutrient for plant growth,acquired primarily in the form of inorganic phosphate(Pi).Pi deficiency limits plant growth and development and significantly constrains crop productivity *** face scarcity and maintain P homeostasis,plants have evolved different strategies to acquire this nutrient efficiently,where the regulation of gene expression plays a pivotal role,and several non-coding RnAs(ncRnAs)were shown to participate in this elaborate *** the transcriptional level,responses to Pi deficiency are highly conserved between Arabidopsis thaliana and rice(Oryza sativa).For example,the MYB transcription factor At-PHR1 in Arabidopsis and its paralogs At-PHL1 and Os-PHR2 in rice play a pivotal role in the Pi starvation signaling pathway(Rubio et al.,2001;Zhou et al.,2008;Bustos et al.,2010;Das et al.,2022).

In this note, we study a discrete time approximation for the solution of a class of delayed stochastic differential equations driven by a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H ∈(1/2,1). In order to prove convergence, we use rough paths techniques. Theoretical bounds are established and numerical simulations are displayed.

On the calibration of rotational augmentation models for wind turbine load estimation by means of CFD simulations

The characterization of digestive enzymes presents in fish and their potential biotechnological uses is a well-developed and studied ***,there has not been a systematic review that analyzes the state of knowledge of these enzymes at a global ***,a systematic literature search on three platforms was carried out to review and analyze existing knowledge about digestive enzymes of marine fishes from fisheries and aquaculture and their potential application in industrial *** the PRISMA method for selecting journal manuscripts,we found 112 scientific articles published between 1984 and 2020 studying different digestive enzymes from 87 fish *** studies were carried out in Tunisia and Mexico and only 6 articles were published in South American *** most studied digestive enzymes were alkaline proteases,mainly trypsin,and the proposed uses for these enzymes were mainly as additives in commercial *** is a vacancy in the characterization of other digestive enzymes as pepsins,lipases and amylases and the study of species that are distributed in the Southwest Atlantic *** is necessary to expand the knowledge about other digestive enzymes and to carry out new studies in regions with an important fishery development.

Optimal vaccination strategies on networks and in metropolitan areas

This study presents a mathematical model for optimal vaccination strategies in interconnected metropolitan areas,considering commuting *** is a compartmental model with a vaccination rate for each city,acting as a control *** commuting patterns are incorporated through a weighted adjacency matrix and a parameter that selects day and night *** optimal control problem is formulated to minimize a functional cost that balances the number of hospitalizations and vaccines,including restrictions of a weekly availability cap and an application capacity of vaccines per unit of *** key findings of this work are bounds for the basic reproduction number,particularly in the case of a metropolitan area,and the study of the optimal control *** analysis and numerical simulations provide insights into disease dynamics and the effectiveness of control *** research highlights the importance of prioritizing vaccination in the capital to better control the disease spread,as we depicted in our numerical *** model serves as a tool to improve resource allocation in epidemic control across metropolitan regions.

A transition prediction method for flow over airfoils based on high-order dynamic mode decomposition

This article presents a novel approach for predicting transition locations over airfoils,which are used to activate turbulence model in a Reynolds-averaged navier-Stokes flow *** approach combines Dynamic Mode Decomposition(DMD)with e^*** core idea is to use a spatial DMD analysis to extract the modes of unstable perturbations from a steady flowfield and substitute the local Linear Stability Theory(LST)analysis to quantify the spatial growth of Tollmien–Schlichting(TS)*** is assumed to take place at the stream-wise location where the most amplified mode’s n-factor reaches a prescribed threshold and a turbulence model is activated *** improve robustness,the high-order version of DMD technique(known as HODMD)is employed.A theoretical derivation is conducted to interpret how a spatial highorder DMD analysis can extract the growth rate of the unsteady *** new method is validated by transition predictions of flows over a low-speed natural-Laminar-Flow(nLF)airfoil nLF0416 at various angles of attack and a transonic nLF airfoil *** transition locations predicted by our HODMD/e^nmethod agree well with experimental data and compare favorably to those obtained by some existing methods■.It is shown that the proposed method is able to predict transition locations for flows over different types of airfoils and offers the potential for application to 3D wings as well as more complex configurations.
