Evaluating mechanism of banana pseudo-stem retting using seawater:A cost-effective surface pre-treatment approach

Retting has been employed to extract natural fibers from agricultural wastes as a biological and cost-effective approach for *** its global abundance,banana pseudo-stem is a promising agro-waste for lignocellulosic fiber *** this study,fibers were extracted from the pseudo-stems after being pre-treated under four conditions using seawater at room temperature for up to 35 d Bacterial isolation from the fresh seawater sample and screening for ligninolytic ability were *** load as well as laccase and manganese peroxidase enzyme activity profile assay during the retting duration were *** transform infrared(FT-IR)and X-day diffraction(XRD)analyses were also examined for both pre-treated and untreated extracted *** results shows that six out of the eight bacterial isolates had the ability to degrade *** treatments(Raw stem+Raw seawater)and(Autoclaved stem+Raw seawater)recorded the highest viable bacterial load of 9.24×102 and 4.46×102 CFU,respectively,on the 14th day of the retting ***,the highest laccase and manganese peroxidase enzymes activity was recorded for(Raw stem+Raw seawater)and(Autoclaved stem+Raw seawater)treatments in the second to the third *** FT-IR spectra of the pre-treated fibers revealed relative reductions in peaks attributed to polysaccharides and other amorphous substances for all retting *** XRD diffractogram revealed that the crystallinity index(CI)of pre-treated fibers increased in all seawater retting treatment ***,the CI for fibers pre-treated under enzymatic conditions were enhanced even after five *** analysis for selected bacterial isolates showed homology to sequences of Bacillus velezensis,Shewanella sp.L8–5,and Citrobacter amalonaticus and Bacillus subtilis j8 *** these findings,it was suggested that physical,biological,and chemical actions were collectively involved in the seawater retting process of banana ps

The study of circadian rhythm performance is prominent in chronic diseases, such as multiple sclerosis(MS). Circadian rhythm dysregulation has been observed in several neurodegenerative disorders, including MS, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and Huntington’s disease(Videnovic et al., 2014;Hedstr om et al.,2015). In addition, subjects who work in shifts have an increased risk of developing MS(Hedstr om et al., 2015). Furthermore, impaired sleep and alertness are common symptoms of MS and neurodegenerative disorders(Videnovic et al., 2014).

Quranic Script optical Text Recognition Using Deep Learning in IoT Systems

Since the worldwide spread of internet-connected devices and rapid advances made in Internet of Things(IoT)systems,much research has been done in using machine learning methods to recognize IoT sensors *** is particularly the case for optical character recognition of handwritten *** text in images has several useful applications,including content-based image retrieval,searching and document *** Arabic language is one of the mostly used tongues in the ***,Arabic text recognition in imagery is still very much in the nascent stage,especially handwritten *** is mainly due to the language complexities,different writing styles,variations in the shape of characters,diacritics,and connected nature of Arabic *** this paper,two deep learning models were *** first model was based on a sequence-to-sequence recognition,while the second model was based on a fully convolution *** measure the performance of these models,a new dataset,called QTID(Quran Text Image Dataset)was *** is the first Arabic dataset that includes Arabic *** consists of 309,720 different 192×64 annotated Arabic word images,which comprise 2,494,428 characters in total taken from the Holy *** annotated images in the dataset were randomly divided into 90%,5%,and 5%sets for training,validation,and testing purposes,*** models were set up to recognize the Arabic othmani font in the *** results show that the proposed methods achieve state-of-the-art ***,the proposed models surpass expectations in terms of character recognition rate,F1-score,average precision,and recall *** are superior to the best Arabic text recognition engines like Tesseract and ABBYY FineReader.

Factors Influencing the Morphological Characteristics of Village Chickens’ Genetic Resources in the Abu-Dhabi Emirate, UAE

The study was accomplished to identify the characteristics of village chickens’ (VCs) genetic resources in the Abu-Dhabi Emirate of United Arab Emirate (UAE) and to study factors affecting these characteristics. Each bird was individually observed, identified, measured and characterized of thirteen VCs pure breeds and crossbreds. The overall VCs had normal feather morphology (95.1%) and distribution (77%). Except for Fayomi chickens which were 100% mottled, no specific plumage pattern was found. Almost 52% of the VCs had white skins. Six different colors were reported for the shanks and maximized for white shanks (34.3%). Large breasts (46%) were more available. The predominant plumage color was mixed colors (37.5%). Face size tended to be small (42.8%) to medium (40.4%). More brown (48.9%) then orange (27.3%) eyes were found. Dark (49.7%) beaks were more available than white (28.6%) or yellow (21.7%) beaks. The distribution of wattle colors was similar to that of ear-lob colors with some variation. Small wattles (41.9%) were most available. Single comb (82.4%) is the most available;11 other types and one with no comb were represented with low frequencies. In the whole sample, red and white combs (56.7%) were the most available;however, plain red (23.8%) and red and black (15.5%) were represented. Results of factors influence showed that body weight was high significantly (P on between both breed and region and breed and sex. Solution of MHD Flow past a Vertical Porous Plate through a Porous Medium under oscillatory Suction

The model of mass transfer on free convective flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid past vertically porous plate through a porous medium with time dependant permeability and oscillatory suction in presence of a transverse magnetic field is considered. Perturbation technique is obtained the solution for velocity field and concentration distribution analytically. The effects of the flow parameters on the velocity field and concentration distribution are presented with the aid of figures. Also, the skin friction and the rate of mass transfer are calculated with the aid of tables.

本文以埃及开罗大学中文系中国诗歌教学为研究对象,主要研究2018、2019和2020年高级学生中国诗歌的习得情况,对中国诗歌课的课程设置、课程师资、课程教材以及教学法四个方面进行调查与思考。学生对课程目标了解程度还可以,但是老师和学生都认为诗歌课程未达到教学目标,主要原因是使用的诗歌教材不好。此外,很多学生还认为中国诗歌对他们的未来工作生活没有帮助,这都是学生对诗歌产生情绪的主要原因。为了解决这个问题,教师可以想出一些方法去激发学生的兴趣,也可以给学生列出涉及到中国诗歌的不同工作。关于师资,开罗大学中文系对上诗歌课的老师的国籍和专业没有具体的要求。而学生都认为中国诗歌课由埃及老师上更好,专业是文学最好,还认为中国老师上课是有困难的。目前埃及缺少关于中国诗歌的相关资料,这是开罗大学中文系负责老师无法选择合适教材的最大阻碍因素。笔者发现,不管是老师还是学生,都对诗歌教材完全不满意。现有教材不足的地方就在于:1、内容不全面,只包括现代诗。2、教材缺乏一些重要的部分,比如“生词解释”、“专业词语”、“专业知识”、“扩展阅读”、“讨论题”、“练习题”等部分。3、诗篇题材不是多样化。老师和学生总体上都认为教材不适合埃及学生学习。中国诗歌课的教学方法方面,大部分学生对使用过的“多媒体法”和“思维导图法”两种教学法满意,就是认为不够有趣味性。通过问卷调查,笔者发现埃及学生对“故事引入法”、“古诗今译法”、“汉阿翻译法”、“画图释词法”、“配乐诵读法”和“诗歌朗诵法”都很感兴趣。
