The present work investigated the efficiency of leaf reflectance indices in the identification of Capsicum annuum L. var. annuum resistant to anthracnose in the fruit. Twenty-five F5:6 families originating from contrasting parents were assessed;the parents were accession UENF 2285 (susceptible to anthracnose) and accession UENF 1381, a hot pepper resistant to anthracnose in the fruit. The experiment was carried out in an experimental field in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between May and October of 2021. The treatments were arranged in a randomized block design, with three replications and five plants per plot. Fifteen LRIs were estimated using a CI-710 portable mini leaf spectrometer. The assessments covered all plant growth after flowering, and a total of six assessments were performed at 15-days intervals, beginning at 35 and ending 120 days after flowering (DAFs). Analysis of variance in a split-plot scheme was performed, as were tests of mean groupings and principal components analysis (PCA). The best period for evaluating leaf reflectance indices in C. annuum var. annuum is 120 days after flowering. The leaf reflectance indices PRI, CNDVI and Ctr2 stood out as effective in distinguishing between resistant and susceptible genotypes.

Lower Cretaceous C-isotope records show intermittent negative/positive spikes, and consistent patterns of coevalchemostratigraphic curves thus document shifts that signal simultaneous responses of temporal changes in the global carbon reservoir. The standard pattern registered by the δ13Corg and δ13Ccarb in Lower Aptian sediments includes distinct isotope segments C1 to C8 （Menegatti et al., 1998）. In the E1 Pui section, Organy Basin, Spain, C-isotope segment C2 is the longest interval preceding segments C3-C6 associated with oceanic anoxic event la （OAE la）, and reveals a distinct negative shift of-1.8‰ to -2.23‰ defining the C-isotope pattern within that interval. Total inorganic carbon （TIC）, total organic carbon （TOC）, δ13Corg, microfacies, n-alkanes show no difference before, during, or after the negative inflection. The biomarkers indicate that organic matter （OM） mainly originates from algal/microbial sources because short-chain length homologues （〈 nCtg） dominate, nC2o through nC25 indicate some contribution from aquatic vegetation, but little from higher plants （〉nC20, as also suggested by the terrestrial/aquatic ratio ofn-alkanes or （TAR） = [（nf27＋nf29＋nC31）/（nC15＋nCt7＋rlCt9）] （averages 0.085）. We suggest that conjoint pulses of contemporaneous LIPs （Ontong Java） and massive explosive volcanism in northeast Asia, the Songliao Basin （SB-V）, best conform to plausible causes of the negative intra-C2 carbon isotopic excursion （CIE） at that time. Because of its apparent common occurrence the intra-C2 inflection could be a useful marker harbinger to the more pronounced CIE C3, the hallmark of OAE 1 a.

The influence of Mg on the microhardness,microstructure and electrochemical efficiency of Al（Zn/xMg） alloys have been ***（Zn/xMg） alloys were prepared by metal mould casting method to diminish the process cost and to generate an alloy with homogenous microstructure and less casting *** hardness,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were performed to determine the Mg influence on the AlZn *** efficiency was used to relate the influence of Mg with the thermal treatment on the corrosion behavior of the Al（Zn/xMg） *** results reveals the presence of Al 32（MgZn） 49 phase for two events;the first is when the Mg content is above 5.49% in as-cast condition,and the second after the thermal treatment is carried out at 450℃ for 5 *** results also show that the microhardness and electrochemical efficiency have been influenced by the presence of Al 32（MgZn） 49 *** addition of Mg modifies the microstructure,increases the content of Al 32（MgZn） 49 phase and improves the electrochemical efficiency.

Esophageal atresia(EA)is defined as a discontinuity of the lumen of the esophagus repaired soon after *** is a common symptom in these patients,usually related to stricture,dysmotility or peptic *** present 4 cases of patients with EA who complained of dysphagia and the diagnosis of Eosinophilic esophagitis(Eo E)was made,ages ranging from9 to 16 *** our patients were on acid suppression years after their EA repair,they presented with acute worsening of *** and/or barium swallow did not show stricture and biopsies revealed elevated eosinophil counts consistent with Eo *** of 4 patients improved symptomatically with the topical *** is important to note that all our patients have asthma and 3 out of 4 have tested positive for food *** of our patients developed recurrent anastomotic strictures that improved with the treatment of the Eo E.A previous case report linked the recurrence of esophageal strictures in patients with EA repair with Eo *** the Eo E was treated the strictures *** the other hand,based on our observation,Eo E could be present in patients without recurrent anastomotic *** appears to be a spectrum in the disease *** are suggesting that Eo E is a frequent concomitant problem in patients with history of congenital esophageal deformities,and for this reason any of these patients with refractory reflux symptoms or dysphagia(with or without anastomotic stricture)may benefit from an endoscopic evaluation with biopsies to rule out Eo E.

The Brazil nut tree（Bertholletia excelsa） is a frequent component of agroforestry systems in the Amazon because of its adaptation to nutrient-poor upland soils and multiple *** investigated the aboveground biomass production（kg dry weight）,nutrient uptake and requirements（N,P,Ca,Mg,K） of Brazil nut trees of different sizes grown under agroforestry conditions and fertilized at different *** of 70 experimental trees with different size were harvested and stem,branches and leaves were *** contents were determined for three trees of varying *** tree growth was fast,but variability was high,suggesting considerable potential for the improvement of this economically important *** trees responded to increased levels of fertilizer and lime with significantly increased foliar nutrient contents and growth,probably because of the improved availability of Mg and Ca for which the species seems to have a relatively high *** contrast to Brazil nut trees grown in forest or dense plantations,the agroforestry trees invested a substantial part of their biomass and nutrients in large branches and developed spreading *** improve stem form,reduce competition with associated crops for light and recycle nutrients,regular pruning of lower branches or planting arrangements that favor self-pruning are *** measures would also increase the recycling of Ca and Mg,large quantities of which are contained in the branches.

Objective:To evaluate the 15-lipoxygenase inhibitory activity of the methanol leaf extracts of Commelina benghalensis,Tradescantia fluminensis(***)and Tradescantia ***:The inhibitory activity was evaluated using a spectrophotometric assay by observing the increase in absorbance at 234 nm due to the formation of the product 13-hydroperoxyoctadecadienoic *** extracts were also tested for the presence of terpenoids,saponins,tannins,flavonoids,steroids,phenolic compounds,alkaloids and cardiac ***:All the extracts inhibited the action of 15-lipoxygenase at a concentration of 0.2μg/*** and Tradescantia zebrina exhibited higher than 50%inhibition with *** at 87.2%.*** was partitioned with ethyl acetate and hexane and their IC_(50)values were determined at 8.72μg/mL and 98.04μg/mL,***:*** is a potentially good source of 15-lipoxygenase inhibitors.

Doxycycline （DOX） exhibits anti-inflammatory and MMP inhibitory properties. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of DOX on alveolar bone repair. Controls （CTL） and DOX-treated （10 and 25 mg. kg- 1） molars were extracted, and rats were killed 7 or 14 days later. The maxillae were processed and subjected to histological and immunohistochemical assays. Hematoxylin-eosin staining （7th day） revealed inflammation in the CTL group that was partly reversed after DOX treatment. On the 14th day, the CTL group exhibited bone neoformation, conjunctive tissue, re-epithelization and the absence of inflammatory infiltrate. DOX-treated groups exhibited complete re-epithelization, tissue remodelling and almost no inflammation. Picrosirius red staining in the DOXlO group （7th and 14th days） revealed an increased percentage of type I and III collagen fibres compared with the CTL and DOX25 groups. The DOXlO and DOX25 groups exhibited increases in osteoblasts on the 7th and 14th days. However, there were fewer osteoclasts in the DOXlO and DOX25 groups on the 7th and 14th days. Wnt-lOb- immunopositive cells increased by 130% and 150% on the 7th and 14th days, respectively, in DOX-treated groups compared with the CTL group. On the 7th day, Dickkopf （Dkk）-I immunostaining was decreased by 63% and 46% in the DOXlO and DOX25 groups, respectively. On the 14th day, 69% and 42% decreases in immunopositive cells were observed in the DOXlO and DOX25 groups, respectively, compared with the CTL group. By increasing osteoblasts, decreasing osteoclasts, activating Wnt lOb and neutralising Dkk, DOX is a potential candidate for bone repair in periodontal diseases.

Introduction: Thyroid states can be associated with psychiatric manifestations, be it hypothyroid, hyperthyroid or even euthyroid. The effect of depression is significant in subclinical hypothyroidism. Sometimes, its signs and symptoms are indistinguishable from Major Depressive Disorder. Our immunological system and early embryologic origins also play a role in the coexistence of other comorbidities like Pernicious Anemia. Case: A 35-year-old Hispanic female presented with significant low mood, somnolence, weight gain, increased hunger, cold intolerance and epigastric pain. It is important to note the variety of clinical manifestations of our hypothyroidism patient to understand its associations and help us with a better approach to treatment. Discussion: Standard approaches to treatment of Subclinical Hypothyroidism will depend mostly on laboratory findings such as TSH levels and free T4. Individualized therapy chosen for our patient was based on his mood symptoms, laboratory findings and coexistence of Pernicious Anemia. The use of daily 0.025 mg of levothyroxine, 10 mg of escitalopram oxalate and weekly injections of cyanocobalamin were treatments of choice. Conclusion: During follow up of our patient, we can conclude that Levothyroxine and Escitalopram Oxalate were able to improve hypothyroidism symptoms, reduce thyroglobulin and peroxidase antibodies and improve mood symptoms including cognitive functions. In addition to this, weekly cyanocobalamin injections were integrated into the management. As parietal cell antibodies decreased, gastrointestinal symptoms also disappeared. By addressing the concerns of our patient, we improved quality of care, and this is reflected in the patient’s wellbeing in physical and psychological.

We present an interplay of high-resolution scanning tunneling microscopy imaging and the corresponding theoretical calculations based on elastic scattering quantum chemistry techniques of the adsorption of a gold-functionalized rosette assembly and its building blocks on a Au(111)surface with the goal of exploring how to fabricate functional 3-D molecular nanostructures on *** supramolecular rosette assembly stabilized by multiple hydrogen bonds has been sublimed onto the Au(111)surface under ultra-high vacuum conditions;the resulting surface nanostructures are distinctly different from those formed by the individual molecular building blocks of the rosette assembly,suggesting that the assembly itself can be transferred intact to the surface by in situ thermal *** unanticipated result will open up new perspectives for growth of complex 3-D supramolecular nanostructures at the vacuum-solid interface.

This critical review of the literature shows that there is a close link between the microbiome,the gut,and the brain in Parkinson's *** vagus nerve,the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system,is involved in the regulation of immune response,digestion,heart rate,and control of *** can detect microbiota metabolites through its afferents,transferring this gut information to the central nervous *** and clinical studies have shown the important role played by the gut microbiome and gut-related factors in disease development and progression,as well as treatment *** findings suggest that the gut microbiome may be a valuable target for new therapeutic strategies for Parkinson's *** studies are needed to better understand the underlying biology and how this axis can be modulated for the patient's benefit.
