Hydrogel scaffolds have numerous potential applications in the tissue engineering ***,tough hydrogel scaffolds implanted in vivo are seldom reported because it is difficult to balance biocompatibility and high mechanical *** by Chinese ramen,we propose a universal fabricating method(printing-P,training-T,cross-linking-C,PTC&PCT)for tough hydrogel scaffolds to fill this ***,3D printing fabricates a hydrogel scaffold with desired structures(P).Then,the scaffold could have extraordinarily high mechanical properties and functional surface structure by cycle mechanical training with salting-out assistance(T).Finally,the training results are fixed by photo-cross-linking processing(C).The tough gelatin hydrogel scaffolds exhibit excellent tensile strength of 6.66 MPa(622-fold untreated)and have excellent ***,this scaffold possesses functional surface structures from nanometer to micron to millimeter,which can efficiently induce directional cell ***,this strategy can produce bionic human tissue with mechanical properties of 10 kPa-10 MPa by changing the type of salt,and many hydrogels,such as gelatin and silk,could be improved with PTC or PCT *** experiments show that this scaffold can effectively promote the new generation of muscle fibers,blood vessels,and nerves within 4 weeks,prompting the rapid regeneration of large-volume muscle loss injuries.

Dragonfly Interaction Algorithm for Optimization of Queuing Delay in Industrial Wireless Networks

In industrial wireless networks,data transmitted from source to destination are highly *** often leads to the queuing of the data,and poor management of the queued data results in excessive delays,increased energy consumption,and packet ***,a nature-inspired-based Dragonfly Interaction Optimization Algorithm(DMOA)is proposed for optimization of the queue delay in industrial wireless *** term“interaction”herein used is the characterization of the“flying movement”of the dragonfly towards damselflies(female dragonflies)for *** a result,interaction is represented as the flow of transmitted data packets,or traffic,from the source to the base *** includes each and every feature of dragonfly movement as well as awareness of the rival dragonflies,predators,and damselflies for the desired optimization of the queue *** features are juxtaposed as noise and interference,which are further used in the calculation of industrial wireless metrics:latency,error rate(reliability),throughput,energy efficiency,and fairness for the optimization of the queue *** analysis,convergence analysis,the Wilcoxon test,the Friedman test,and the classical as well as the 2014 IEEE Congress of Evolutionary Computation(CEC)on the benchmark functions are also used for the evaluation of DMOA in terms of its robustness and *** results demonstrate the robustness of the proposed algorithm for both classical and benchmarking functions of the IEEE CEC ***,the accuracy and efficacy of DMOA were demonstrated by means of the convergence rate,Wilcoxon testing,and ***,fairness using Jain’s index in queue delay optimization in terms of throughput and latency,along with computational complexity,is also evaluated and compared with other *** results show that DMOA exceeds other bio-inspired optimization algorithms in terms of fairness in queue delay management and average packet *** proposed a

Immune stimulatory activity of BRP-4,an acidic polysaccharide from an edible plant,Basella rubra L.

Objective:To investigate whether ethanol extracts of Chondracanthus tenellus(EECT)could improve immunomodulatory property of murine monocyte/macrophage RAW 264.7 ***:Cell viability,phagocytic ability,and nitric oxide were *** levels of prostaglandin E2 and cytokines were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay *** of immunoregulatory response protein was detected by Western blotting ***:As the concentration of EECT increased,the morphology of the cells changed to a typical active macrophage shape,and the phagocytic activity increased *** also effectively enhanced the production and secretion of immunomodulatory mediators,such as nitric oxide and prostaglandin E2,and *** addition,compared with the control group,EECT markedly stimulated the expression of Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)and myeloid differentiation factor 88,one of the TLR4 adapter ***,EECT promoted the nucleus translocation of nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)by increasing the phosphorylation and degradation of the inhibitor of NF-κB-α,indicating activation of the NF-κB signaling ***,similar trends were found in cells treated with lipopolysaccharide as a positive ***:Taken together,the results indicate that EECT has an immunomodulatory effect by increasing the production of immunomodulatory mediators and cytokines through activation of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling *** could be used as a potential candidate for medication or dietary supplements to increase immune activity.

Dear Editor,Here, we report the developmental regulation of proteolytic cleavage of the FLOWERING LOCUS T （FT） protein. FT, a mem- ber of the phosphatidylethanolamine-binding protein （PEBP） family, functions as a florigen or a component of florigen. PEBP binds phosphoethanolamine, and its ligand-binding domain is evolutionarily conserved from bacteria to plants and animals （Schoentgen and Jolles, 1995; Bradley et al., 1996）. CHARACTERISTICS OF SLAG ACTIVATED PHC-PILE WITH REDUCED CEMENT CONTENT

Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag(GGBS)powders,the massive by-products produced in the process of manufacturing cast iron are actively used as a substitute for cement,one of the major causes of greenhouse gas *** purpose of this study was to investigate the proper mixing ratio of the activator,and to reduce the usage of cement in the production of high-strength steam cured concrete using *** cured products of various ratio were analyzed by XRD and TG/DTA,and the best ratio of the cured product were applied to the Pre-stressed high-strength con-crete(PHC)Pile,and the performance was then *** results showed that the fluidity was improved by mixing with GGBS,and when an appropriate amount of activator was used,it was possible to produce high-strength cured *** the PHC-Pile test,the replacement rate of 40%GGBS and combined 4%anhydrite gypsum and 2%Ca(OH)2 as an activator was *** compressive strength(2MPa more),shear strength(1.3MPa more),and Axial force strength(2.7Mpa more)were more improved than for the normal Portland cement PHC-Pile,and this GGBS pile can be manufactured more economically(the cost can be saved in the amount of 14.5%).This is caused by the activating agent destroying the glassy film of the GGBS,and actively inducing the pozzolanic reaction,so that the hydrate materi-als are generated,such as *** addition,by positively utilizing the inexpensive industrial by-product,GGBS,it is possible to manufacture environmentally friendly concrete products,while reducing the amount of cement used.

Flue-gas desulfurization(FGD)gypsum has occasionally been used as an additive to ***,appropriate facilities are required to ensure the environmen-tally safe processing of FGD gypsum and the resulting cement material *** facilities are yet to be developed because the amount of FGD gypsum used is still small when compared with the vast amounts of FGD gypsum *** this study,we analyze the effect of FGD gypsum addition on the physical properties,stabilization,and radon count of steam-cured mortar and compare its performance with air-cured *** results show that the steam-cured pozzolanic hydration products of ettringite and C-S-H promote the densification of the mortar structure,thereby resulting in nanopore size reduction and increased strength of FGD gypsum mortar subsequent to the steam-cured hydration ***,our environmental test results indicate that steam-cured pozzolanic materials composed of FGD gypsum are environmentally safer than air-cured cementitious materials.

Clonal evolution of hepatitis B virus polymerase gene mutations during lamivudine-adefovir combination treatment

Laboratory characteristics of recent hepatitis A in Korea:Ongoing epidemiological shift

AIM:To evaluate seroprevalence of hepatitis A virus (HAV) antibody and investigate demographic,clinical,and laboratory features of recent cases in ***:For the evaluation of hepatitis A seroprevalence,we analyzed the data from 3127 subjects including,healthcare workers and patients who visited Konkuk University Hospital,a secondary referral center,from January to October *** sera with positive IgM were excluded from seroprevalence data for total HAV *** retrospectively reviewed the electronic medical records of 419 patients with HAV,who were diagnosed by the presence of serum IgM antibodies against *** patients presented at Konkuk University Hospital between August 2005 and September ***:Among 3127 sera tested,1428 (45.7%)were positive for anti-HAV *** seroprevalence was very low in teenagers or those in their twenties,increased in those in their thirties,and was > 90% in older *** children younger than 10 years,seroprevalence was increased *** patients with HAV hepatitis were in their twenties and *** γ-glutamyl transpeptidase increased with age and was significantly higher in patients older than 30 *** of severity,such as decreased albumin and increased bilirubin,were also more prominent in the older age group;however,the leukocyte count was higher and the frequency of leukopenia was lower in younger patients than in older ***:There has been an apparent epidemiological shift in HAV seroprevalence and a change in the peak age of HAV *** study could provide baseline data of recent hepatitis A in Asia.
