Objective: To determine skin whitening and wrinkle improvement efficacy, glycoprotein fractions were extracted from liquid extracts of boiled sea cucumber and their effects on tyrosine and elastase inhibitory activities were assayed. Methods: Fractions above and below 50 k Da(>50 kD a and 50 kDa enhanced tyrosinase and elastase inhibitory activities by 50.84% and 28.78%, respectively. Correlations of the >50 kD a concentration with tyrosinase inhibitory(R^2=0.968) and elastase inhibitory(R2=0.983) efficacy were significant. Conclusions: >50 kD a glycoprotein fraction isolated from liquid extracts of boiled sea cucumber, which can serve as a functional cosmetic ingredient for whitening and wrinkle improvement of skin.

Objecive:To screen the fatty acid(FA) composition of 20 marine microalgae species,including seven Diophyceae,six Bacillariophyeae four Chlorophyceae,two Haptophyceae and one Raphidophyceae ***:Microalgal cells cultured at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology were harvested during the late exponential growth phase and the FA composition ***:The FA composition of microalgae was *** example,seven different species of Dinophyceae were composed primarily of C14:0,C16:0.C18:0.C20:4n-6.C20:5n-3 and C22:*** C14:0.C16:0,C16:1.C18:0.C20:5n-3 and C22:6n-3 were abundant FAs in six species of *** addition,four Chlurophyceae,two Haptopkyeeae and one Raphidophyceae species all contained a high degree of C16:1 n-7[(9.2R-34.91)%and(34.48-35.04)%].C14:0[(13.34-25.96)%]and[(26.69-Z8.24)%],and C16:0[(5.89-29.15)%]and[(5.70-16.81)%].Several factors contribute to the nutritional value of *** the polyunsaturated FA content and n-3 to n-6 FA ratio,which could be used to assess the nutritional quality of ***:This study is the first comprehensive assessment of the FA composition and nutritional value of microalgae species in south Korea,and identifies the potential utility of FAs as species-specific biomarkers.

Direct volume rendering(DVR)is a technique that emphasizes structures of interest(soIs)within a volume visually,while simultaneously depicting adjacent regional information,e.g.,the spatial location of a structure concerning its *** DVR,transfer function(TF)plays a key role by enabling accurate identification of soIs interactively as well as ensuring appropriate visibility of *** generation typically involves non-intuitive trial-and-error optimization of rendering parameters,which is time-consuming and *** at mitigating this manual process have led to approaches that make use of a knowledge database consisting of pre-designed TFs by domain *** these approaches,a user navigates the knowledge database to find the most suitable pre-designed TF for their input volume to visualize the *** these approaches potentially reduce the workload to generate the TFs,they,however,require manual TF navigation of the knowledge database,as well as the likely fine tuning of the selected TF to suit the *** this work,we propose a TF design approach,CBR-TF,where we introduce a new content-based retrieval(CBR)method to automatically navigate the knowledge *** of pre-designed TFs,our knowledge database contains volumes with soI *** an input volume,our CBR-TF approach retrieves relevant volumes(with soI labels)from the knowledge database;the retrieved labels are then used to generate and optimize TFs of the *** approach largely reduces manual TF navigation and fine *** our CBR-TF approach,we introduce a novel volumetric image feature which includes both a local primitive intensity profile along the soIs and regional spatial semantics available from the co-planar images to the *** the regional spatial semantics,we adopt a convolutional neural network to obtain high-level image feature *** the intensity profile,we extend the dynamic time warping technique to address subtle alignment

Sleep posture surveillance is crucial for patient comfort,yet current systems face difficulties in providing compre-hensive studies due to the obstruction caused by *** posture assessment remains challenging because of the complex nature of the human body and variations in sleep ***,this study introduces an innovative method utilizing RGB and thermal cameras for comprehensive posture classification,thereby enhancing the analysis of body position and *** method begins by capturing a dataset of sleep postures in the form of videos using RGB and thermal cameras,which depict six commonly adopted postures:supine,left log,right log,prone head,prone left,and prone *** study involves 10 participants under two conditions:with and without ***,the database is normalized into a video *** subsequent step entails training a fine-tuned,pretrained Visual Geometry Group(VGG16)and ResNet50 *** the third phase,the extracted features are utilized for *** fourth step of the proposed approach employs a serial fusion technique based on the normal distribution to merge the vectors derived from both the RGB and thermal ***,the fused vectors are passed to machine learning classifiers for final *** dataset,which includes human sleep postures used in this study’s experiments,achieved a 96.7%accuracy rate using the Quadratic Support Vector Machine(QSVM)without the ***,the Linear SVM,when utilized with a blanket,attained an accuracy of 96%.When normal distribution serial fusion was applied to the blanket features,it resulted in a remarkable average accuracy of 99%.

Achieving highly regioselective synthesis in organic chemistry is challenging due to the uncontrollable orientation between reacting *** electric fields(EEFs)can influence the reactivity and selectivity of the substrate by causing directional ***,scalable and efficient techniques for using EEFs as“smart catalysts”have been lacking,hindering their *** this study,we present a novel method for modifying the regioselectivity of quinoxaline-2(1H)-ones by functionalizing their C7-position using the electric double layer(EDL)*** approach led to moderate to good yields of the corresponding C7-thiocyanation *** calculations and control experiments demonstrated that EEFs could reverse the regioselectivity of quinoxaline-2(1H)-ones,allowing the C7-thiocyanation to proceed via a radical reaction ***,the resulting 7-thiocyano-1-methylquinoxaline-2(1H)-ones exhibited promising AIE *** work showcases a promising strategy for achieving highly regioselective functionalization by aligning the electric field with the desired reaction/bond axis.
