Antibacterial activity of zinc oxide nanoparticles(Zn O-NPs) has received significant interest worldwide particularly by the implementation of nanotechnology to synthesize particles in the nanometer region. Many microorganisms exist in the range from hundreds of nanometers to tens of micrometers. Zn O-NPs exhibit attractive antibacterial properties due to increased specific surface area as the reduced particle size leading to enhanced particle surface reactivity. Zn O is a bio-safe material that possesses photo-oxidizing and photocatalysis impacts on chemical and biological species. This review covered Zn O-NPs antibacterial activity including testing methods, impact of UV illumination, Zn O particle properties(size, concentration, morphology, and defects), particle surface modification, and minimum inhibitory concentration. Particular emphasize was given to bactericidal and bacteriostatic mechanisms with focus on generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) including hydrogen peroxide(H2O2), OH-(hydroxyl radicals), and O2-2(peroxide). ROS has been a major factor for several mechanisms including cell wall damage due to Zn O-localized interaction, enhanced membrane permeability, internalization of NPs due to loss of proton motive force and uptake of toxic dissolved zinc *** have led to mitochondria weakness, intracellular outflow, and release in gene expression of oxidative stress which caused eventual cell growth inhibition and cell death. In some cases, enhanced antibacterial activity can be attributed to surface defects on Zn O abrasive surface texture. One functional application of the Zn O antibacterial bioactivity was discussed in food packaging industry where Zn O-NPs are used as an antibacterial agent toward foodborne diseases. This paper presents the rheological behaviour of supercritical CO2 （sCO2） foam at reser- voir conditions of I 500 psi and 80 ℃. Different commercial surfactants were screened and utilized in or- der to generate a fairly stable CO2 foam. Mixed surfactant system was also introduced to generate strong foam. Foam rheology was studied for some specific foam qualities using a high pressure high tempera- ture （HPHT） foam loop rheometer. A typical shear thinning behaviour of the foam was observed and a significant increase in the foam viscosity was noticed with the increase of foam quality until 85%. A de- sired high apparent viscosity with coarse texture was found at 85% foam quality. Foam visualization above 85% showed an unstable foam due to extremely thin lamella which collapsed and totally disap- peared in the loop rheometer. Below 52%, a non-homogenous and unstable foam was found having low viscosity with some liquid accumulation at the bottom of the circulation loop. This research has demon- strated rheology of sCO2 foams at different qualities at HPHT to obtain optimal foam quality region for immiscible CO2 foam co-injection process.

Spontaneous subdural hemorrhage(SDH)is an uncommon nontraumatic bleed of the brain,involving the dura and arachnoid *** commonly occurs due to tearing of bridging veins;however,SDH from the rupture of arteriovenous malformation(AVM)is an uncommon phenomenon,particularly in *** report a case of atypical SDH in a 1-year-old child with AVM and a history of alleged *** revealed SDH in the right parietal and middle cranial fossa without any external or internal injuries to the head,brain,or other parts of the *** examination and immunohistochemical staining of the brain tissue revealed an abnormal distribution of arteries and veins of various sizes and *** a detailed histopathological examination of the brain and meticulous investigation of vascular abnormalities,we conclude the cause of acute SDH to be due to a ruptured AVM.

Spontaneous rectus sheath hematoma(SRSH) is a rare entity that mimics acute *** sheath hematoma is the accumulation of blood in rectus sheath due to muscle or epigastric vessel injury. However, SRSH without a trauma or anticoagulation is rare. It frequently mimics acute abdomen and it may lead to misdiagnosis and unnecessary laparotomy. In this article, we described two cases of SRSH with their diagnostic and therapeutic strategy. Both of our patients in report were neither consumed antiplatelet nor coagulopathy. They both had abdominal muscle straining before their symptoms presentation. We hypothesized that the SRSH may be induced by rectus muscle injury secondary to inappropriate straining or posture. To diagnose SRSH, clinical findings are important but radiologic imaging such as computed tomography, can be diagnostic. In expanding SRSH, percutaneous arterial embolization of epigastric artery is useful to secure the bleeding. If embolization is not feasible, surgical exploration hemostasis is curative. In non-expanding SRSH, it can be managed nonoperatively. SRSH is an important initial differential for acute abdomen. Radiologic imaging helps in *** SRSH can be managed conservatively with good outcome.

Discrimination of fatty acids （FAs） of lard in used cooking oil is important in halal determination. The aim of this study was to find the information related to the changes FAs of lard when frying in cooking oil. Quantitative analysis of FAs composition extracted from a series of experiments which involving frying cooking oil spiked with lard at three different parameters; concentration of spiked lard, heating temperatures and period of frying. The samples were analyzed using Gas Chromatography （GC） and Principal Components Analysis （PCA） technique. Multivariate data from chromatograms of FAs were standardized and computed using Unscrambler X10 into covariance matrix and eigenvectors correspond to Principal Components （PCs）. Results have shown that the first and second PCs contribute to the FAs mapping which can be visualized by scores and loading plots to discriminate FAs of lard in used cooking oil

Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) of polyacrylamide-co-acrylic acid (PAA) as the polymer host and zinc acetate (ZnA) as an ionic dopant were prepared using a single solvent by the solution casting technique. The amorphous and crystalline structures of film were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The surface morphology of samples was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The composition and complex formation of films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The conductivity of the PAA-ZnA films was determined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. According to the XRD and FTIR analyses, all electrolyte films were in amorphous state and the existence of interaction between Zn2+ cations and the PAA structure confirms that the film was successfully prepared. The SEM observations reveal that the electrolyte films appeared to be rough and flat with irregularly shaped surfaces. The highest ionic conductivity (σ) of 1.82 × 10-5 Scm-1 was achieved at room temperature (303 K) for the sample containing 10 wt % ZnA.
