In order to further understand high-temperature deformation behavior and its-related mechanical prop-erties,the Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC)effect in an Fe-19Cr-13Ni-0.2C austenitic stainless steel was in-vestigated using high-temperature digital image correlation(DIC)*** the tensile testing at temperatures from 473 to 623 K,different types of serrated flow appeared even at a constant applied strain rate,and the type transition took place dynamically in a certain order with deformation *** analysis revealed that the dynamic type transition of the serrated flow obeys the PLC band propagation behavior,and that the transition of the PLC band propagation behavior could be attributed to the PLC band nucleation *** modeling also proved that the nucleation manner of PLC band nu-cleation is determined by the spatial-temporal coupling effect.

In this study,the new method of the vortex core line based on Liutex definition,also known as Liutex core line,is applied to support the hypothesis that the vortex ring is not a part of theΛ-vortex and the formation of the ring-like vortex is formed separately from theΛ-*** proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)is also applied to analyze the Kelvin-VHelmholtz(K-H)instability happening in hairpin ring areas of the flow transition on the flat plate to understand the mechanism of the ring-like vortex *** new vortex identification method named modified Liutex-Omega method is efficiently used to visualize and observe the shapes of vortex structures in *** streamwise vortex structure characteristics can be found in POD mode one as the mean *** other POD modes are in stremwise and spanwise structures and have the fluctuation motions,which are induced by K-H ***,the result shows that POD modes are in pairs and share the same characteristics such as amplitudes,mode shapes,and time *** vortex core and POD results confirm that theΛ-vortex is not self-deformed to a hairpin vortex,but the hairpin vortex is formed by the K-H instability during the development of Lambda vortex to hairpin vortex in the boundary layer flow transition.

Resistant bacteria can be transmitted to humans through feces or contaminated meat from local chickens. Bacterial strains were isolated from the intestinal contents of 400 local chicken samples from various sales sites. These strains were then characterized using bacteriological and biochemical methods to identify resistant strains. In a study conducted in Ouagadougou, we systematically collected chicken fecal samples from 20 locations across the city, followed by isolation and identification of Salmonella spp. using specific enrichment and culture methods, as well as Escherichia coli. Bacterial strains were characterized using antibiotic resistance profiles were determined through agar diffusion tests, revealing sensitivity or resistance to a range of antibiotics based on established scientific criteria. The results showed that out of the 400 samples collected, 81.25% and 63.5% were contaminated by Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp., respectively. Among these, 86.15% of identified Escherichia coli and 50.78% of Salmonella spp. displayed resistance to at least one tested antibiotic. Among 280 Escherichia coli isolates identified resistant to at least one antibiotic, 31.07% were resistant to cefotaxime (CTX), 20.35% to ceftazidime (CAZ), 21.07% to ceftriaxone (CTR), 75% to amoxicillin clavulanic acid (AMC), 23.57% aztreoname (ATM) and 27.14% were resistant to imipenem (IMP). In the case of the 129 Salmonella spp. isolates resistant to at least one tested antibiotic, 34.88% were resistant to CTX;41.08% to CAZ;35.65% to CTR, 92% to AMC, 39.53% to ATM and finally 47.28% were resistant to IMP. Our study revealed high prevalence of resistance in bacterial strains isolated from local chickens sold outdoors in Ouagadougou. These findings raise significant public health concerns, due to the possible transmission of these resistant strains to humans through the consumption of contaminated meat, thus complicating the treatment of bacterial infections.

The objective of this multicentric study was to assess the prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma génitalium and Trichomonas vaginalis infections in Brazzaville, in the Republic of Congo, using molecular methods. From January to December 2021, the sexually transmitted disease risk participants were recruited from six centers: The Association of Young HIV-Positive People of Congo, The Congolese Association for Family Welfare, The Association for Support to Vulnerable Groups, Talangaï hospital, Brazzaville university hospital (outpatient service) and the private clinic COGEMO (outpatient service). The real-time multiplex PCR was carried out to detect these pathogens. Each patient had at least one specimen (urine, urethral, anal and/or vaginal samples). The patients were considered infected when one of their samples was positive. 287 participants made of 227 women and 60 men were tested. The general prevalence of these infections was: Chlamydia trachomatis 2.79%, Neisseria gonorrhoeae 3.14%, Mycoplasma génitalium 3.45% and Trichomonas vaginalis 2.97. The prevalence rates according to sex were: C. trachomatis, M. génitalium, N. gonorrhea and T. vaginalis were 1.32%, 2.05%, 1.32% and 3.42% in women and 8.33%, 7.02%, 10% and 1.75% in men, respectively. Most infected patients were asymptomatic. Prevalence rates were higher in bisexual individuals, with the exception of T. vaginalis which showed higher prevalence in heterosexual patients. The bisexual and homosexual individuals represent a major public health problem in sexually active young adults, particularly among men having sex with men. These sexually transmitted infections are mainly asymptomatic, their diagnosis and management remain difficult in developing countries.

Mathematical foundation of turbulence generation-From symmetric to asymmetric Liutex

Vortices have been regarded as the building blocks and muscles of turbulence for a long time. To better describe and analyze vortices or vortical structures, recently a new physical quantity called Liutex (previously named Rortex) is introduced to present the rigid rotation part of fluid motion (Liu et al. 2018). Since turbulence is closely related to the vortex, it can be postulated that there exists no turbulence without Liutex. According to direct numerical simulations (DNS) and experiments, forest of hairpin vortices has been found in transitional and low Reynolds number turbulent flows, while one-leg vortices are predominant in full developed turbulent flows. This paper demonstrates that the hairpin vortex is unstable. The hairpin vortex will be weakened or lose one leg by the shear and Liutex interaction, based on the Liutex definition and mathematical analysis without any physical assumptions. The asymmetry of the vortex is caused by the interaction of symmetric shear and symmetric Liutex since the smaller element of a pair of vorticity elements determines the rotational strength. For a 2-D fluid rotation, if a disturbance shear effects the larger element, the rotation strength will not be changed, but if the disturbance shear effects the smaller element, the rotation strength will be immediately changed due to the definition of the Liutex strength. For a rigid rotation, if the shearing part of the vorticity and Liutex present the same directions, e.g., clockwise, the Liutex strength will not be changed. If the shearing part of the vorticity and Liutex present different directions, e.g., one clockwise and another counterclockwise, the Liutex strength will be ***, the hairpin vortex could lose the symmetry and even deform to a one-leg vortex. The one-leg vortex cannot keep balance, and the chaotic motion and flow fluctuation are doomed. This is considered as the mathematical foundation of turbulence formation. Magnetic separation studies for a low grade siliceous iron ore sample

Investigations were carried out, on a low grade siliceous iron ore sample by magnetic separation, to establish its amenability for physical beneficiation. Mineralogical studies revealed that the sample consists of magnetite, hematite and goethite as major opaque oxide minerals where as silicates as well as carbonates form the gangue minerals in the sample. Processes involving combination of classification, dry magnetic separation and wet magnetic separation were carried out to upgrade the low grade siliceous iron ore sample to make it suitable as a marketable product. The sample was first ground and each closed size sieve fractions were subjected to dry magnetic separation and it was observed that limited upgradation is possible. The ground sample was subjected to different finer sizes and separated by wet low intensity magnetic separator. It was possible to obtain a magnetic concentrate of 67% Fe by recovering 90% of iron values at below 200 lm size.

Surface miner, a continuous mining machine, is being manufactured in India and abroad owing to enhanced demand of production in various mining industries like coal, limestone, gypsum, bauxite etc. Different types of surface miners are manufactured today based on cutting drum placement and design specifications. Selective mining without drilling and blasting, high production and small size products are some of the prominent attractive features obtained with these moving marvels. This machine can be used with good efficiency in soft to medium hard rock (100-120 MPa). This paper synthesizes the different applications, equipment models, features offered, operating methods, cutting performance assessment models as well as typical production performance of surface miner in coal and limestone mines of India. Engine hour metre reading, diesel and pick consumptions are linearly influenced by production. The emphasis for future research is also brought out.
